    Good review,
    I just bought a rebated 2018 outlander 1000r xt.One thing that concerns me is reliability of the machine as I’ve owned 4 yammies prior.I always likes the can ams.As far as maintnece goes I’m all for it and if anything major breaks I hope it’s within my 2 year warranty.I could have gotten 6 years warranty for an extra 1900 but that’s a lot of money.Figure I’ll see how the bike is and if it sucks I’ll add the extended when my 2 year is about to expire.I also take care of my machines.I don’t care for mud or high levels of water I’m more of a trail rider and explorer so I don’t really abuse my machines.

  • @RobFarrowATV
    @RobFarrowATV 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Thanks for the shout out Man! Stock axles are very strong! Your preload on the rear springs cause the shock not to be able to get it's full use...upgrade the springs to the 650 ones for a cheap upgrade that works! I've permanently torn my plastics out of areas I need to get at! LOL! Ya, I torque my wheel studs to 51lbs, no issues at all! Great review vid!

    Wow, that was fast. I’m still watching your video. Thank you very much. I was thinking of getting a rubicon or a pioneer. I’m not a speed guy, just want to go enjoy the scenery and explore. Any friends that have Honda’s?
    Thanks again

      I have 2 personal friends with Rubicons, 1 with a pioneer. By the sounds of it, youd do very well with a Honda. I personally recommend the Rubicon. Very reliable, easily modified, huge aftermarket etc etc. Thanks for watching.

    Omg Kyle this was the best review I’ve watched on this machine. But you scared the heck out of me with all the issues as my dealer is trying to find a yellow 2019 xmr 1000. I researched Your recommendation to convert an xtp to mud, which I like because I thought my defender xmr stock tires could be used, but my service rep stated xmr are lifted, geared, clutched, axled for bigger tires and I didn’t want to go that far. Great video!

      I'll have an updated review soon!

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay I have an 1000 black xtp or yellow xmr waiting for me to pull the trigger. I have defender xmr rims and tires which may fit the xtp but it’s not geared or clutched for 30” tires which are really 29”. I don’t think I’m going deep so no snorkels may not be an issue, rad relocate possible. Dealer is worried about putting those tires on xtp could hurt the clutch, axles, bearing, scrape fenders...

    Your shocks are 4 way adjustable. For some reason canam sets the shock spring load to almost full stiff. I took a few turns of spring tension out of my renegade and it made a world of difference. Try that because those shocks are amazing they just aren’t set up worth a fuck from factory.

      Mainville ATV and Outdoors yeah just loosen the lock ring, get the wheels off the ground and move the spring up. Just make sure left and right are the same but front and rear can be different. I went a little softer in the rear than the front to get better weight transfer and to avoid diving on breaking.

    You sir have a new sub. My big question is highlifter 1000 or your gem. The wife finally has given me her blessing for the purchase , and im teetering on the fence . Im looking for honest reviews from honest people. As you said in a way theres going to be pros / cons with anything. And im talking from showroom to trail ( i know the break in process, were hypothetically past that )

    • @MainvilleATV
      @MainvilleATV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, from I can tell if you're in that end of the market theres only 4 choices. Highlifter sportsman, scrambler, outlander and renegade. Highlifter and outlander have some more utility but still very very capable, other two being your pure sports. If it came down to the highlifter and Outlander I would personally recommend a 2018 and newer Outlander. Not by a large margin truth be told. They're both amazing machines with similar faults in their own rights. If you use them like you should they all break the same. Take them for a spin and whichever feels better is the one for you is really what comes down too. Thanks for the sub, means alot buddy

    • @MainvilleATV
      @MainvilleATV  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my experience, with my atv being 52 inches wide, you'll have no issues at all under or around 50 inches. I have seen some difficulties on some trails at 60 plus. That being said, most club trails on their maps will tell you they are tight or difficult trails so you'll be able to educate yourself fairly easily. There are plenty of Ontario trails you'll be good to go with any choice especially in renfrew county. Good luck!

      renegade 1000xmr
      850 and down all have same gears as the trail bikes

    thats why some of us buy Polaris, !! $14,000 for a 2018 scrambler 1000 xp with same fox podiums shocks as yours has i believe, and Polaris is true AWD, 😛
    Yes your XMR is still bad ass but alot more money.

    • @MainvilleATV
      @MainvilleATV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ideal tuning is done on a dyno, and with an ECU flash. Although dobeck and dynojet have other ways of doing it. As for exhaust, I recommend yoshimura, mbrp and rjwc.
