long as you burn fossil fuel pistons will always have carbon build up long as it’s not enough to affect compression ratio you will be fine for a long time
💯 Correct you are! I had to do this as it increased my compression ratio and led to pinging. Since cleaning, the pinging has totally gone.
Well, it's not about the cleaning of top surface of pistons. Nobody cares about it. The thing is about compression rings, which basically have the same carbon as on top.
@kovalenkoihor4325 In my very experience this helped with that too. How did I know? My oil loss significantly improved. I have a separate full video on freeing sticky piston rings.
@@DIYAutoworksNG yep. that was my point. If it helps with cleaning pistons on top than it cleans in places we don't see. So how do you get this result? You just add it and drive like you regularry do work and home, or you done 4 fill ups with 4 cans of Liqui in one day?
Yep! Cleaning the carbon now bang less HP an now blow by threw the rings . Don't let captain ASE get you for your precious " Sir you need a new car from out back a motor an 4 transmissions cause your headlight was out 😢
You just need to keep up with oil changes before oil breaks down.
Vital point!
Right I change mine every 2,000 miles and I use ethanol so my pistons are still shiny with very little carbon on the center
Also use good gas. LAC destroys engines. Always pay the bit more for top tier.
@@E85_STIdefinitely can a should go longer dude your just wasting money to waste it
@@E85_STI always change mine every 3000 or 3500 miles on my 4.6 gt mustang I run royal purple an I run synthetic blend in my 3.0 ranger when I take the valve covers off them the inside of heads look really clean
Been looking to do something like this on my audi q5 to help deter build up these cars are known for clogging and causing to burn oil
You should see the full video then. It's tagged "I used Liqui Moly for a month"
Also checkout the follow up on what I gained from that process. Cut my oil burn dramatically.
This needs to be air on television 😂
😂🤣😁
😂😂
I use to buy it whenever I am traveling to Katsina and later realised it was not really working
What I found out is that for it to work, you have to drive at several hundred miles at wide open throttle and use it consecutively in a number of fuel tanks. I went into this in the full video.
@@DIYAutoworksNG i love how he said it doesnt work when you literally made a 20 second video showing how it does lol
You said it wasn't really working when it clearly shows there are less carbon built-up on the second inspection do you have any idea how much difference that will make to your engine life time?
Do you know that you will use a lot more gas when you're us snap stuff?
That’s why you get the fuel injector cleaner instead
Not sure if it worked but car was backfiring a lot which I’m assuming was cleaning the combustion chamber
I prefer the old trick I learned racing when I was young, spray bottle with water. You can see carbon fly when you have open exhaust
Yea, I know the water method, but never tried it.
HOW
How does it works
@@milanchathuranga8654 water does not burn, but when you super heat it and compress it, it creates steam, and steam can do crazy things under pressure, knocks the carbon right off of anything.
Any idea if the carbon could clog or get on the cats? Would it just burn off over time in the cats, or just fly through the honey comb?
I do an italian tune-up more often than most people, especially in 1st & 2nd gear
هل منظف غرفة الاحتراق يؤثر على القطع المطاطية أو البلاستيكية أو طرمبة البانزين
This one, no. Some may do.
Techtron for the fuel system and carbon on the intake valves, RXP for the combustion chamber and rings.
Yet to use any of those, I find LM to provide good value.
Techtron is complete garbage. It doesn’t do anything. You want Regane gum out with PEA. It is amazing.
Thank you!😊
You're welcome 😊
I always wonder how this affect injectors and other components 🤔
My main concern is ensuring it doesn't affect O2 sensors and the catalytic converter. Haven't had much care regarding injectors.
Try adelco top engine cleaner a GM product that actually works well 👍, and marvel mystery oil
Yea. I know that product, will try one day. Thanks for reaffirming...
EarthDreams is a direct-injected engine. I'd be much more concerned about carbon buildup on the intake valves than on the piston.
Very valid point, but the buildup on the piston was causing pinging due to higher compression ratio. Once the buildup was cleared, it's been good bye pinging.
Well it sure cleaned something but is that going to make any difference? I mean anything we gain from that? Its not that deposit will keep piling up and fill the whole space. Although I'm interested in something that actually breaks down the deposit and unstuck the oil rings.:)
It actually did more than just cleaning. Car was pinging before this due to the increased compression ratio from carbon build up. Since the cleaning, totally gone. Also, oil consumption gone, meaning it helped with unsticking oil control rings. I have the full form videos on the channel.
@@DIYAutoworksNG Ah yes that's the data I'm interested in 👍😀 Thanks I will give it a try on my wife's RAV4 with Oil consumption problem. 👍👍👍
@@DIYAutoworksNG Also will check the full video
Good luck!
If it’s direct injection it won’t touch the valves.
If you’re worried about your combustion chambers I would recommend a more aggressive cleaning treatment.
But they also look fine for a lil Honda earth dreams, those motors were built pretty decent from what I’ve seen.
Sure. Wasn't doing this one for the valves. Just the combustion chamber. I agree that Honda builds motors quite well.
Have you guys found anything that works better on DI engines? Liqui Molly came out with their DIjectron but I have no idea what they could have changed that would make it work any better. Unless it's just a stronger mix.
@@thinkforyourself5672 I would recommend doing a BG service.
They have many options, but I would do an intake cleaning service and an engine flush. BG EPR, BG MOA, and BG 44K are all also great products that I’ve seen help many engines in bad shape.
I'm expecting a shipment of a couple cleaning products, and should be able to contribute your question following some tests.
Does the accord has a GDI engine? Accord 2.4
what is the BEST fuel additive for carbon...do you think?
I'm still testing products. More videos to come. I should have an informed opinion then.
Injection Cleaner is good, but the pro line will help once a year along with the intake spray. Remember to fill up with quality fuels while treating the car and after or else you're just bringing a mop to a lake.
@bean4848 I've got the intake spray in a shipment.
Just bought some of this to try in my '77 Ford Maverick with a 250 6 cylinder. Fouling plugs bad, using oil and blowing blue smoke at idle. We'll see how it does on a old school carbureted ride. SHOULD clean the valves and pistons and rings.
This was specially made for carburetted motors, even though worked well on my GDI! Do let us know how it performs.
Awesome!!!! I definitely will.
Did it work as intended?
How did it go
Still using it. Takes a while to get through a can when your car has a 19 gal tank. Lol. But so far so good.
They make a bunch of different ones.It would be nice if you specified which one you used
Hey thanks for flagging. This is short features close 2 months of usage compressed. The full video is linked. It's the Valve Clean I used.
Интересно куда вся эта сажа пойдёт?
Good question. Through the catalytic converter and out. Some will deposit there but will be burnt off. I have a different video comparing the catalytic converter before and after cleaning. I also further demonstrated that after driving for a while after the treatment, the catalytic converter became clean again. The only problem will be if your catalytic converter is not functioning well.
good video
Thanks for watching. Appreciate!
That green fill up nozzle, is for E85 "gasoline" or E100? In Brazil is E100, pure ethanol...
In Nigeria, there's only one fuel grade. The colour of the nozzle matters not.
@@DIYAutoworksNGthe stuff out the side of shells pipe line driven on boats till it's about to sink crude into gas in a field with 30 cooks making it covered in gas head to toe. Ay everyone needs a hustle but dayum
In the USA green is diesel, blue E15, yellow E85, red ethanol free, then 87, 89, 93 all black and they contain up to 10% ethanol.
Nice video, you can tray using water, just with caution, it needs just water mist, to much water will destroy your engine
What water does is a thermal shock when water drops hit hot carbon it brakes in smaller pieces, and get detached from the piston...
where do you spray the water, and how?
How many times do you have to use the additive?
Here's the full video th-cam.com/video/YWKIycwZtY0/w-d-xo.html I used it in 5 fill ups.
Wrong way to clean the piston
Is Italian Tune Up good for this?
Yep
Can it clean the injectors?
They make a different product for the injectors; Jectron.
So, it stayed the same.
Just pour a couple teaspoons Into the cylinders and let them sit for a few hours.
I'm not sure of the cold temperature cleaning properties of this product.
Any car with high injection pressures, it’s not recommended that you use any fuel additives or injector cleaners . If its diesel- then manually clean and de carbon you EGR valve and air intake manifold. Sprays are useless along with fuel additives .
Some additives yes. But ones with PEA (Polyether-amine) has been proven to work no?
Yup! Manually cleaning your injectors and EGR is still better than any additives in the fuel system
I read that mineral oil 2 stroke added to tank helps a diesel.
So I added some.
About 2 weeks later the seals went in high pressure pump.
Now I will never use anything in the fuel or intake
Full synthetic oil with LM additive every oil change round 5-7 mi depending on driving abuse 😮💨😮💨😮💨 can’t change my mind either. Oil alone doesn’t suffice and LM additive is cheap.
Especially if the quality of gas is poor.
Just drive on s mode without additives, it will work
Yes. I just think the additive helps the process.
didn't do anything but wasted money on a meager advantage
It stopped the pinging I was having before this. It did a lot.
where can i order

No benefit
So you mean you burnt 4 fill ups just to clean the engine?
I like your adventure o. Probably cos you are not in Lagos sha cos if this is done in Lagos, there will likely be more carbon build up after the 4 fill ups cos most of the time will b spent in traffic 😂
Lol. 4 fill ups going about normal driving. Only thing is I squeezed 100mile wide open throttle driving into each tank. But I hear you on the congestion in Lagos.
People Need to learn how to look up material data sheets. This stuff is nothing but Pure Naphtha. Says so right on the MDS, no other ingredients. You can buy a while quart of it a home depot for less than 10 bucks
Good flag. Appears to have 2 other variants of naphtha though. Have you tried using straight naphtha?
@@DIYAutoworksNG those are just the alternate names licensed under different manufacturers . they never know which suppliers' material they will use to make a batch, because they buy from whoever sells at lowest price or has available. so they have to list all possible names on the MDS. They buy material from many sources.
Sorry, no difference
You may need to watch the full video or the one I did on the benefits gained. Loads of difference, apart from cleaning the carbon, the following happened:
- Pinging I was having, gone.
- Oil consumption drastically reduced. It freed sticky oil control rings
- Gained 2 - 3 mpg
👍👍👍👍👍
🙏🏼
Liqui Moly Fuel System Cleaner work well and also cleans your injectors. And, use Top Tier Gasolines, which have more additives than non-top tier gasoline like you get at a Sam's club and your local 7-eleven. LOL
Good points. Viewing from Australia?
Costco is on the top-tier gas list.
screw my pistons. I need the carbon out of my catalytic converters
I'll be testing some catalytic converter cleaners soon. Expecting the consignment. They would come as full feature videos and probably shorts.
@DIYAutoworksNG awesome! I got the liquimoly cleaner, but I thought it was a fuel additive. I was sadly mistaken and it must be sprayed directly into the intake tract.. I am way too scared to spray this stuff into my engine :/
I know that LM product; catalytic system cleaner, I think they call it. Was discouraged by it not have an integrated spray system. I got a different one: their throttle valve cleaner which also cleans intake valves, though it doesn't claim to clean the catalytic converter. But I got some other products for those.
E85 with 100 ml of ester (FUlly Synthetic) 2 stroke oil, cleaned mine. Even the exhaust smell changed after that. The same smell that the car had brand new.
😂
Its more dirty😂😂😂
What are you smoking?
I know you're kidding 🤣
Cat get clogged
Should be a problem in a car without other problems. Cat cleans itself during normal operation.
Don’t waste money clean the valves directly
For those that have the skills. This won't be everyone.
but you cant clean piston
BULL
Port or Direct injection… otherwise pointless.
GDI but the there's context to its use. The full video goes into details. Wasn't doing it for the back of the valves, rather the engine was pinging from carbon build up. That totally disappeared.
SPONSORED, LOL 😂
I suggest you watch the full video. What you've seen in this Short is over 2 months of footage and testing. I used the product consecutively in every fill up for a over a month. Link in the description.

Green pump? Putting diesel in a gas. Bogus video
Not bogus at all.
In my country, the colour of the pump means nothing. Red, blue, yellow green. Diesel pumps are found in separate areas of the gas stations.
You’ll always have carbon on your pistons, it’s not a problem.
All it does is bump up your CR.
Carbon in caves is bad but you only need to think about PCV and EGR for those.
Additives are better at taking your money out of your pocket than they are at taking carbon off pistons.
Complete scam
Zero scam here. Full video in the description.
@@DIYAutoworksNG engine “treatment” is complete crap. Regardless of the brand
Well, let's agree to disagree on this. I've bought a large collection of different brands for a range of upcoming tests. Maybe I'll join your camp after those lol
@@DIYAutoworksNG what you show in this video is a LITTLE dirt on the piston that got cleaned. real carbon deposit will not look like that and will not get cleared by that piss from liqui moly. Cheers
