I just love how he just captures a love scenario in the middle of a revolution, whether it be love for someone else, or to the people in general. And then kind of describes how this is somewhat of a new feeling for him, and doesn't really know how to express. And then in the third verse (probably the best verse ever written) pleads that they just enjoy love for the one night before the world comes crashing down tomorrow. Tim McIlrath is truly a poet.
I love the high screaming note in the chorus of this song, where he sings the words "darkness" and "sorrow." The power and emotion of the chorus are unmatched....great song.
Rise Against is pretty amazing... Their songs pack so much meaning behind the words. It's unfourtunate that only a few bands today can have the same said about them.
I must say, RPM and Sufferer and the Witness were albums where you could listen to every song without skipping... it's very rare that a band can make an album where EVERY single song is really good... and RA pulled it off at least twice... and even Siren Song of the Counter Culture was like that... it's really quite amazing.
That song is about taking a timeout in bad times and enjoying life. It's about that time where you forget all of your trouble and just enjoy the hell out of your day!!! ❤✊
I think one of the main things making Rise Against so amazing is that you can hear the emotion and feeling in their music. They aren't just reciting written lyrics, and pounding out sweet tunes, they're pouring their emotion and their being in all of what they do. Moreso then most other bands. Good stuff.
love the quote at the end, Rise Against is the only band i know who says such sentimental, simple, strong, and meaningful things which are worthy of quoting such as this one.
I love this song so much. The imagery and meaning behind them is amazing. Just so much thought provoking words and yet its still relatively unknown, that just amazes me.
@metal0519 they have alot of great songs they have yet to play live, i really want to hear death blossoms and rumours of my demise live more than anything
My first Rise Against experience was their cover of Nervous Breakdown in the movie Lords of Dogtown. It sort of went on from there. x) This is one of my faves, perfect for summer nights!
Yeah, I can see that too. It's just I keep hearing him say "sa[d]ness" so clearly. Even in the background vocals at 1:52 Tomorrow could be cold and depressing, but enjoy tonight. Carpe Diem kinda thing.
i dont even know what to type here. i just listened to that song for the first time and it literally made me want to twitch uncontrollably in excitement. i had to limit myself to shivering though, else i wouldnt be able to see the rest of the lyrics XD grand song, great job with the quality AND timing.
hell yeah, its got a mad tune to it. i love the bit near the end where he sings 'is there a god tonight, up in the sky, or is it empty just like me...' and you can hear him scream it in the background. its kickass! lol love this song too.
I find it astonishing how Rise Against's music, every song, holds some significance in my life, like this song for instance: Every time I heard this or got it stuck in my head, I thought about 'her' (I'm not telling you all my business, no offense). That's a pretty strong reason why I love this band. Awesomeness incarnate.
I actually did look it up, and this song is indeed on Sufferer and the Witness. It was a bonus track on the CD when it was released in a different country. And it was on "This is Noise", too.
probably the best thing about rise Against, is that they are original and that they're song aren' just amazing, thay have meaning. And for me thats why rise Against are one of the best ever bands.
This was on the live CD, and also I believe was a bonus song on some editions of The Sufferer and The Witness. Whoever got one of the special editions was incredibly fortunate, as this is, imo, one of the best songs made by one of the best bands around.
omg!!! every song I watch of theirs I have to fave. I can't find one thats not worthing doing so....I've like only watched 5 so far though...so...wooh! gonna keep looking..
tbh i just keep coming back to this video because rise against are one of the best band ever without a doubt! and there fans just have to be classed as people who have good taste in musc
"I know not your sorrow, but I know mine... Just say you'll stay and dance with me tonight." I think every time he says that, it's like opening up an old wound, a bad memory, or an unfinished dream. I know we all have some of those. Maybe we all share that sorrow.
These guys are sick! Screw that commercial crap, this is where it's at. I love Rise Against, and if people would stop listening to "what sells", they're see rise against is an amazing band.
I think we can all learn a very valuable lesson from rise against. Maybe instead of trying to play to the masses and what they want we should all do what we feel is right. If people like it, they can join in and help by doing what they think is right. If they don't like it, maybe someday they'll get it but till than we'll just keep doin what we gotta do. Their life is their choice but we have the ability to change the world by just doing something so simple as smiling a little more.
