  • Literally Sea of Stars. What a beauty.
Sea of Stars is a turn-based RPG inspired by the classics. It tells the story of two Children (Valere and Zale) of the Solstice who will combine the powers of the sun and moon to perform Eclipse Magic, the only force capable of fending off the monstrous creations of the evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer.

Blew my mind when this happened! Though part of me was expecting this transition effect to happen at random times throughout Serai's world. Sort of like that bit in the Fleshmancer's castle. I wonder if it'll come into play in their third game.

It's a shame that the game didn't turn into something 3d like chrono cross after this, cause that would've been both a cool reference to the chrono series and a nice callback to messenger's twist

I love the sense of mystery here. You don't know exactly what's going on, just that it's awesome. How is the Vespertine capable of doing a Warp jump? Is it magic or technology? We don't know, and that's OK. This scene justifies the game being titled after the Sea of Stars despite it only featuring in a three-minute sequence.
