Imagine being Joe, your director is telling you they're gonna bring in a double to record the solo, and you just pull out your old guitar from years ago and go, "I don't need no double."
That's what made this scene so much better to me knowing that he was actually playing the song even though you're not hearing him playing, the show he most definitely did play the song. His hand placement was too on point not to believe he actually learned to play the song.

There are videos out there of Joseph Quinn playing parts of Master. Haven't seen him play it all the way through, but he's got the rhythm parts and fills down really well. In one of the videos I watched he played part of the solo. So blown away by Eddie. Oh, and I do the same thing... 1:06 , my sister plays the guitar and when she saw the episode, she went crazy on how Eddie was actually playing the guitar, However, during the solo, she made the notice to use that he wasn't actually playing the solo. She wasn't mad about it coz she knows that the solo would've been too much for the actor. So to resume, no Eddie didn't played the solo, it's way too complicated

This made me want to learnt to play guitar, honestly. I already have a crappy acoustic guitar that my dad used to play on, but it's so hard to learn when you know essentially nothing beforehand.
As a guitar tutor, the best advice I can give you, is to be patient, and try learning fairly easy-ish songs that you love listening to. The most important thing is to enjoy it! Good luck man! 🤘🏼
Hey man, he actually didn’t play the whole thing. Aiden Fisher recorded the solo and was used for the close up shots during the solo. Also, the bass players son from Metallica came in a months after filming to record additional guitar parts - but no one knows what bits he actually played. I assume Joseph learnt how to play it since, but he can’t play it as clean as Aiden fisher.

Yeah since I made this video, more solid info has come out about what actually happened with this scene. At the time I was editing - I was seeing/hearing different info like “he has never played guitar before” “he plays guitar” “he learnt it only for this scene” - it was like a minefield 😂
I actually ended up finding a warlock locally thats a bit dinged up but I wanted to get back into playing that badly. I am gonna get repainted and refinished to be more unique for me but I got back into playing after a 12 year hiatus. its something I have been thinking about for the last few months but this scene alone was inspiration enough for me to pull the trigger and just go for it.
Yes he actually played, most of the audio is from the guitar, notice the slight difference in tone, not much it's more noticable at the very beginning of the begining of the song,
I've played the violin for almost 15 years and it KILLS me when actors don't even try to learn how to hold the bow correctly or rest their chin on the chin rest.

I actually ended up finding a warlock locally thats a bit dinged up but I wanted to get back into playing that badly. I am gonna get repainted and refinished to be more unique for me but I got back into playing after a 12 year hiatus. its something I have been thinking about for the last few months but this scene alone was inspiration enough for me to pull the trigger and just go for it.

Yes he actually played, most of the audio is from the guitar, notice the slight difference in tone, not much it's more noticable at the very beginning of the begining of the song,
