Totally. Every time I watch it. Idk what it is. Their chemistry. Dustin nodding out next to him shredding. All while killer roid bats are flying at them in a dimension similar to hell. Best scene by far.
The sound design on this scene is incredible. The sound effects like the thunder 1:34 / 1:42 or door sound 0:57 etc. are perfectly timed and fit so well. Highly enjoyable!
Eddie is hands down the coolest character in fiction ever. Like there is no contest. Dude is a huge nerd/metalhead who enters what is essentially Ultra Hell and plays Metallica to attract a swarm of Demonic Bats so they can light Mega Satan on fire. How do you even compete?
As soon as I saw this scene, I just went absolutely nuts when I heard Eddie play the first 4 chords and I’m like “YOOOO!!! NO WAY!!! MASTER OF PUPPETS???!!!” And because of this, Master Of Puppets became a hit again. SHOUTOUT STRANGER THINGS AND THE DUFFERS BABY!
One of my best friends loved this scene and asked me if I recommended any Metallica songs besides Master Of Puppets, and I grinned and sent him a list. So far, he really likes Seek and Destroy, The Unforgiven, Nothing Else Matters, and Battery. 🤘

U can’t even lie, Eddie’s concert in the upside down was deadass the HIGHLIGHT of season 4 omg😵💫 it was so awesome from the scenery to him shredding some sick notes, it was perfect . Sucks that he died tho, he was my favorite character🥺
I loved both of thus scenes but I find myself more dragged into max dying scene. She telling Lucas she didn't want to die, being blind and unable to move, crying, Lucas into so much pain and both actors doing a good job was just pretty fantastic to me.
everytime i watch this scene i can't help but put my hand on my heart. i pay respects to a true hero who didn't run away and instead played the sickest guitar solo ever
This scene isn't only one of the best of season 4, but one of the best film scenes ever shot, engineered and produced. Mastery from The Duffer Brothers and all those involved.
For some strange reason I feel that playing Metallica in a dark twisted alternate dimension filled with monsters intent on eating you and dark clouds of red lighting is very appropriate and definitely metal!
Instant classic. I'm glad they secured the rights for this song because it's pretty much a perfect approximation of how badass Eddie's character arc is.
Not to mention the fact that in-universe, "Master of Puppets" had just dropped a couple of months prior to season 4's main timeline, so I'd assume it was the latest record to blow the characters' minds as well.
the one character that had nothing to prove. nobody judged him as a coward when he ran. yet he had to prove it to himself. I'm sadden by what happened but even tho he could've and should've kept going. i understand why he did what he did.
1:51 I dunno why but Eddie’s expression for that 1 sec sticks in my head. It feels like a mix of stage presence, psyching himself up, with a dash of “yeah I am being a badass”

And joined the kids for example....but actor that played Eddie Munson, and ", this is for you Chrissy moment!" 👏🏽 speechless, and was in pure awe that they used heavy metal music, to fight off Demo-Bats, like a nod to Bill and Ted in there somewhere lol.
1:49 Joseph Quinn's performance here is perfect. He could've so easily chosen to just rock out on the guitar, but his face still carries the fear and uncertainty of someone who's defending his friends' lives as well as his own. @@jmoore1988 hey hey hey, Black Sabbath and Metallica are both good in their own right, to the degree that you can't even properly compare them, the way their sounds are so different from each other, and the general unique FEEL they give off in each of their songs almost puts each in different genres, Metallica is much more of a thrash/headbangy music style, while Black Sabbath is much more focused on the vocal aspect with the AMAZING talent of Ozzy Osbourne.
