Watching this. Knowing full well I’m starting with dark crusader cuz of the edition I bought. Still entertaining and I guess I can pick one for a second playthrough
Having already beaten it, I can tell you that for the most part, there are lots of weapons that will fit a lot of different playstyles. My one gripe is that a lot of the really cool grand swords (i.e. Bloody Glory) have a radiance scaling. I like my huge swords, and with this game, it was no different. I ended up going with Hallower Dervla’s sword because almost everything else I wanted to use required radiance, which one of my friends was already doing. My plan is to eventually use the Fallen Lord Sword, which you get in the bell tower in Lower Calrath (literally near the fallen bell from said tower) with Dervla’s sword, and do kind of a fire and ice thing. Also, you can buy the exiled stalker armor and weapons from Thek-Ihir once he moves to Forsaken Fen.
I typically start out as the naked class in most souls games but the dark crusader fashion sold me. Game is still plenty difficult even with the hand me up.
I didn’t realize the Crusader was part of the Deluxe Edition. I went with the Prisoner/Wretch as I do that in all the Souls/Elden, but dang things hit hard in LoTF lol. Considering new gaming and going Crusader instead, even tho it takes away the satisfaction from finding gear off enemies.
@@_N4VE_ Yeah things hit a bit too hard to be fair. I expect this kind of damage in NG+. The congregator of flesh can easily 3 shot you even with the dark crusader buffs you get.

Although Crusader looks good and came with my purchase I don’t wanna ruin the feel of gear drops lol. I’m stuck on the first boss rn she hits like a truck and i only have a wooden cross with pilgrim armor 😂
@@_N4VE_ Crusader gear doesn't make you OP at all and I still find gear drops to be viable. Honestly some of the gear you find in the shops early on actually give you better resists than crusader does. All about the situation you find yourself in.

Whatever the level 1 class is called in this game, I'm going for it. Played deprived or whatever in Elden Ring and it was one of my favorite video game experiences. Hoping for another in this game
it’s rough and gear doesn’t drop from enemies too often. I’ve been farming the TwoHanded sword enemy in front of the first Angel wing boss and still haven’t gotten his sword. Considering new gaming and just going Dark Crusade already.
Condemned and I was hyped when I did the math and found out you can play any build quality style at 125 and pure mages at that lvl aswell and have a tankier mage yes
@@_N4VE_ put 3 points into both str and dex and use the early maces or swords you pick up or get the base stats for the fire sword behide that guy your farming it'll help you start and make it easier to farm I'm assuming you got alittle of vigor to throw around so you should be good. And I think you get early game spears to and the three points in str and dex should cover that. I had to get decent a scrapping a build together because I've always played the deprived class. The fire sword is in some fire or lava behide the two handed demon btw. Only thing I don't know what to do about is armor but you should be able to get twenty plus vitality quickly and with light load the first boss shouldn't kill you to often.

Upgrading the lamp gives you extra souls flay chargers which is used to pull a living enemy’s soul out of its body stunning it, letting you attack its soul damaging the enemy with either damage so that when it’s soul Re-enters it you can hit it and remove all of that wither damage simultaneously. It can also be used to push enemies in a chosen direction… usually off an edge/cliff to kill strong enemies easily. Upgrading the lamp increase eye sockets which are essentially mods giving different effects to your lamp such as extra Umbral (dead world) healing, dread resistance, extra soulflay charges, and even invulnerability for 8 seconds after entering Umbral world. As far as additional “lives” or resurrection… i do not believe this is something that can be increased. As a lamp bearer…. When you died you enter the Umbral world and get a second life. If/when you die in Umbral it’s a true death. However a far as I know this isn’t something that can be changed or given additional charges. The only thing that can be done is finding an emergence effigy which brings you back to a axiom (living world) which in essence gives you another life by allowing you to die again and respawn in Umbral again. However I haven’t found anything/upgrade that upgrades this mechanic. The only way you get extra lives is by finding a way to exit Umbral, allowing you to re-enter if you die again. Just wanted to clear that up.

Blocking is somewhere in the realm of dark souls 2. A very slight delay from the time you press the button to the point of a full block. Didn't take long to get used to.
looks great imo. TH-cam recording does no justice. Play it yourself and see. 1440p 165hz on High/Ultra it looks great. Plenty detail in textures and lighting

We need a game that’s goes hard on either parrying like sekiro or hard into dodging like the souls trilogy I’m tired of every souls like being a hybrid of both dodging and parrying (Lies of p did it right though)
Souls-likes never feel as good to play either, that's why I never touch them. There's something about your absolute control and the way the camera follows that is too different in other games. In Dark Souls 2 3 Bloodborne and Elden Ring, if you flick your joystick, your character instantly turns around. That's kind of what I mean when I say "absolute control." There's no delay in any animation, and I think thats why it feels so good to play, even if you suck at it.
@@LSB44446this game is probably the most responsive souls like, definitely more responsive than elden ring at a glance, your characters turn radius is tighter and stick flicks are instant. The running looks wonky but that doesn't deter from everything else that feels smooth.

Went with the Dark Crusader for my first character... their starting gear is pretty strong in defence and offence.

Heard blocking isnt good in lords of the fallen unlike souls and you gotta use dodge more. Also no poise function.
