    • @JamesDguy
      @JamesDguy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t time it but usually takes less than a day. This one took longer since the paint is slower to dry and I was busy in between painting the whole car then the rear bumper modifying and such. I wasn’t trying to get it done quick this time so I was able to take my time more. Typically a few hours later the car is changed haha

    If you're taking suggestions for future videos. I would like to see how to apply a two-tone paint job over existing paint. As you can see on my channel I have a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor that I would like to apply silver paint to the hood, roof, truck lid and along the body lines. I'm mostly concerned about keeping a straight line along the side body line (just above the side marker light running to the top of the rear tail light). The only videos on TH-cam that shows how to do this is painting the two tone all at once (entire car instead of just one part).

    • @JamesDguy
      @JamesDguy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Would be cool but don’t have any test cars to do that on. Also if you used the 2X rustoleum or another company then it will probably wrinkle up. For some reason the paint from other companies wrinkle when other paint goes on it. With rustoleum the 2X paint wrinkles when you go for another coat. The stuff I used on my car don’t wrinkle with extra coats though and I assume it’s because less acetone and a slower dry time because of that.

      I'm no expert so take this with a grain of salt, but from watching other videos, it appears they don't atomize the paint as well, leading to a higher likelihood of orange peel like texture. That said, the speed at which you can coat a car is insane.
