The macro shots are sooo useful! This foundation looked amazing on other influencers, but I didn't buy it because I felt like it would look so dry on me, and based on your video I think I'm right! So thank you!
If you moisturise enough it hopefully won't be dry, but I suppose it depends on the moisturiser and primer used
It’s a powder foundation. You need to look at it half an hour after application and after you applied setting spray. That’s when it’ll look good. Putting it on and then immediately judging it just doesn’t really work with powder foundations. Liquid foundations look good upon application and start looking worse throughout the day. For powder foundations it’s usually the opposite. They tend to look better as after a while.

Only powder foundation I ever loved was the Bare Minerals one. I always got compliments on my skin. And then they discontinued it and brought them out in these circular packaging and they're super dry and not the same! The original square packaging spf foundation was amazing!

That stuff was around before. They just repackaged it. I’ve been using it for years. Also, as always with maybelline they have a much better shade range in the US than in Europe.
Powder foundations need half an hour to an hour to set properly and look great.

When I use a powder and want more coverage I use the sponge that comes with the product, whatever product it is, to get coverage but then use a brush to really blend it in and smooth it out. I have super dry skin and this works great for me. Pretty fresh from colourpop, and aquasurance from jcat also do really well.

Ok I tried this as a powder foundation my skin said no so I used hnb concealer then put one of the light shades over and it worked and it looked so good! You should try it girl xx

I like it better with a beauty sponge damp and lots of hydration underneath first with a pore Primer on nose as I hsve big pores, I conceal first also and i donot use the powder under my eyes. I like it for lasting wen I'm at college x I use a setyong spray too.

Thanks! Powder foundations are in general hard to use, I have friends with different skin types and all say the same… The only good pressed powder I know is INIKA, but thats also a mineral foundation so works completely different.
I think I saw someone else say this powder really needs setting spray too. I typically hate powder foundations but I still watched cuz you're absolutely hilarious 😂

The only powder foundation that I found worked best for me and lasted was the l'oreal infallible freshwear in a powder. 💖

Swollen or not swollen cheeks, you are still STUNNING girl, you are gorgeous. I did not try it yet, but I am not a huge fan of Maybelline makeup. Only a few products are not awful, like the mascaras and the lipsticks.
as someone with super oily skin, powder foundations are my best friend. i had to switch to liquid when menopause kicked in and played with my skin. now that i use skincare that helps, i need to get my hands on that foundation....provided they do a light enough shade and that it doesn't oxidize.
that lip stuff just needs oil to break it up. i forget which company made one about 20+ years ago (you put the lip balm (kinda like chapstick) it came with) ontop to moisturize. anyway, that stuff did not agree with oil, so there went anything fried (ie, bar food).
Could you try the ESSENCE 16h COVER & last POWDER FOUNDATION if you haven't already? I wanna see how it performs on your skin :)
I've tried this on my oily textured skin and total s#*t. It came off on my clothes, went all blotchy and I looked like the surface of the moon.
My nana used to use powder foundation, that’s what this reminds me of.
I watched a video from mannymua and he used the powderfoundation then used settingspray for some moisture and then went on with the rest of his makeup. He didn’t have that problems with it. Even set it with powder after the cream products

100% I have pretty much removed myself from the beauty community because of this, its all trying to sell us things we don't need or ' viral products ' no one does tutorials and tips and tricks any more really.
My tip for powder foundation: Start with juicy skin (let your skincare soak in) & use a brush. A big, fluffy one. Never a sponge or puff. Lightly dust/tap the powder over your face (don't drag, don't stipple), with the goal of building where needed. Careful with the nose - a light bounce or twowith the brush may be all you need. 🔥 If that doesn't work, the foundation is crap. 😁

I tried this. Couldn't colour match in store properly and I've ended up with a too pale shade. It makes me look like a skeleton so when you said about Halloween, I totally agree!!!
It's only 10 shades in Europe, there are many more in North America. But I got shade 3, the warm fair one, because in the pan it looked like it would work, and omg, when I put it on I was extremely pale, and the colour didn't even look warm, I looked so ashy, it was super bizarre, and you can't have any dry patches anywhere on your skin or else it shows up super bad

i got it not long ago, and it is the only maybelline product i really hate. it had a strong sent, and it sits on dry skin really wrong and it did look cakey and once applied to my skin the powder does not move if you try to blend it.

I love and hate powder foundation, no matter which one I've used its looked shit on my nose but at the same time i always reach for It to quickly mellows out my redness when I'm not glamming up but even then I wear both liquid and my powder foundation

I've got several powder foundations and I love them, so quick and easy. This is the only one I've tried that makes my skin look dry and matte with no sheen whatsoever. Horrible!
It takes a couple of seconds to realize that this formula is gonna work wonders for extra oily skin (level _Ask Candace_ ) or stage.

I feel all makeup and beauty content needs the disclaimer of skin type. Some viral products have worked great on me. Some haven't but worked better for someone.

You always look fab steph, your personality is lovely. I enjoy your down to earth and honest videos. The difference between American and English ' influencers ' is so obvious to me, the only beauty channels I watch is Robert Welsh and you and nina ubhi The rest irritate the life out of me, always grifting and every single product changed their life *GASP* 🙄 the beauty space has become so greedy and money hungry, no one does actual wear tests anymore they love it after first use, how could they even know it is any good, a real review is putting a product to the wear test ect, its all lies. No one does tutorials or anything fun with make up anymore. They have sucked all the creativity and fun out of makeup, it is all about trying to manipulate folk into buying and consuming. Your videos are very fun to watch and I don't feel like I'm having false narrative shoved down my throat, I watch beauty TH-cam to learn some techniques and expand my own skill not to buy every overpriced product. Sorry for the rant. I enjoy your pound land and aldi and bnm videos, hope to see more drug store and cheap makeup on your channel, you are very relatable, I hope you don't lose that as many do over time.
I don't wear makeup a lot, but when I do, I will only ever buy and use products that Steph recommends, because I completely trust her. I also hate it when other makeup/beauty TH-camrs just follow the trends, and only promote and say good things about a product because the video is sponsored, or because it's viral. Like, don't lie to your audience and tell them the product is amazing, when it's not, and encourage them to buy it - when they buy it, they're either going to think they did something wrong when they used it because it didn't work for them, or they'll just be mad at you. I'm glad that Steph doesn't do that.
Alexandra Anele is great for actual technique and tips! She's got some really good, simple tutorials and in-depth videos on specific makeup bits, like contour and blush placement, base, eyeliner placement etc.
SophDoesLife is also really honest and fun, if You're looking for someone who isn't gasping at every new product and not disclosing their ads etc. She also does wear tests and does segments in natural lighting. :)

This foundation was awful on me. It settles into lines like crazy. It accentuated lines I didn't even know I had. I also wore it with liquid foundation and used it as a finishing powder and in just a couple hours it literally shifted my liquid foundation and I had visible patches on my forehead and different areas of my face. it looked like I smeared something on my forehead. Very weird.

Don't make the same mistake I did I got the 16hr one and it doesn't cover at all and I paid over 200 ZAR here in SA and I am so disappointed it is the worst power I own and worst is I can't get a refund

This was the worst foundation I’ve used for years. Cakey, patchy and disappeared. Used the sponge and a brush and neither worked.
