    65lb braid to 30lb mono is my favorite setup for fishing hudd style baits. I have not had any issues using the FG leader knot and double san diego jam knot.

    I’m more an inshore calico bass guy and I absolutely love the Lexa 300. I have 3 of the originals and two of the Winn ones. I had an hd but the bearings got messed up and same with my buddies. But all our regular lexas hold up better. And we beat the crap out of our gear fishing everyday so they don’t get rinsed off but once in a blue moon lol

    And me and my friend were halibut fishing and he snagged a 30-40 lb leopard and he brought it in on 15 lb line on a bass rod so you don’t need that big gear

      Sharks don't fight as hard as yellowtail or tunait also how do you know if the thing was actually 30 or 40 lb but pound per pound tunas and yellowtail fight way harder so you do need that gear

    Bro you don’t need a lexa 400 even 300 for bass bro I have a 300 and I have cot 25 lb yellowtail on it if you use a lexa 200 with 20 lb braid or mono you should be fine and when I bass fish I have cot 8lb bass on 5 lb line

    • @jackkrauser8687
      @jackkrauser8687 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      He throws giant swimbaits so the line needs to be like 65 pound braid to 30 pound mono leader otherwise you can snap the line when casting.

  • @nickcosta88
    @nickcosta88 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    All my setups are braid to leader...

  • @commander058
    @commander058 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you keep the braid from biting into the spool? I put it on as tight as I can but it still digs in,snaps and then my bait goes flying into the abyss.

    • @OliverNgy
      @OliverNgy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that's why the upgrade to HEAVY braid that doesn't dig in as much and won't break and zing your bait into the abyss. 80 or 100lb for big bait applications for bass fishing. Give it a try. And yes keep it on your spool as TIGHT as you can to minimize that.

    • @robertrobertson3754
      @robertrobertson3754 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi I'm a braid bass fishing person I all ways put electrical tape on my spool before the line to keep it from spinning when fish are caught it's a good backing idea just a small piece to cover spool
