I would go with a thin 50lb braid like max Quattro or berkley x9. Pack on as much line as you can. 65 is too thick for this reel. Most breaking strength for the new line is very strong and will hold up. My 2 cent.
Thanks dose it say what ounce lures you an throw on it in looking to be able to toss a 2 to 5 ounce lure. Also If I fished it from surf do you think it would have a higher chance of snapping because of having to hold the rod vertically

I have 65 on all my diawa 400’s. Eats space that you don’t use.

Lexa 400 cc pwrlp** I do not own CC series of the lexa. I believe it's similar in spec just the material for speculation.

@@claper2225 it doesn’t state the lure rating. You could fish it from shore but a bit short in length if you are trying to get distance.
