Grand Seiko Sōkō Light and Shadow First Impressions | Carat & Co.

Introducing Grand Seiko USA’s Sōkō exclusive SBGA427 or called “Light” and SBGA429 or called “Shadow”. Both 2020 watches feature a 39mm case, Spring Drive movement and a dial inspired by the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest in Kyoto Japan. Both dials feature vertical line textures resembling the bamboo stalks slight and green accents on the seconds hand, power reserve, minute markings and text. Each comes with complimentary straps with matching green accents.

The GS launches are like a series of arts. The dials, hands, indices, sharp edges, and, mirror polish are hard to see together at any price points. The complimentary alligator strap is a surprise bonus. Presently, l wear most of my GS that doesn't already come in straps with non gs strap. Now, l we can have a GS strap and buckle. Super cool.
