For little more work I added a complete new electrical service pole with a panel and outdoor 240 and 120v outlets. First it powered building my shop, now it powers my shop. Price was painless (I'm also in the Carolinas) and I didn't have to touch my already maxed out home service. The monthly bill is trivial and there are always used mobile home power poles for sale if money is tight.
Big outlets can power welders, air compressors, machinery and charge BEVs if you get on in the future.

It’s great when things can multipurpose! This temp power supplied electricity for the construction of our house last year and now our runs our well and later this year it’ll power the workshop. :-) continues to work for the homestead. We also are adding another hookup down in the field for a future greenhouse here.
