    Thanks for the video! Welldone! Just as a note from a fellow Street Triple owner: When draining the oil, have the bike on the side stand as per the manual. This makes the drain plug the lowest point on the bike. Allows the oil to drain faster, and helps drain more oil overall.

      Thanks for the view and comment it’s much appreciated. I will try that in a couple of days when I do the oil change. I’m also going to be doing a video in the next few days on fitting some clipons to my striple 👍

    Thanks for the video, always useful to see someone taking the time to film themselves doing a detailed service! Just an FYI for the fuel tank, before removing the fuel hose, but once the electrical connectors are disconnected, you can crank the bike to remove the pressure in the fuel pump. It will only run for a couple of seconds and cut out but then when you remove the hose it doesn't spray fuel anywhere.

    You should also start the bike with the cap off of the radiator in order to purge any air from your cooling system

  • @LLS.R

    I’d replaced the triumph oil filter with one from k&n. You can tighten/loosen these with a 17mm socket.

    • @LLS.R
      @LLS.R 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I used tuneecu to balance the throttle bodies. Might use the extension hose and cable (which is written in the service manual) next time so in have more room to adjust.

    • @eskertoo
      @eskertoo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Those K &N filters can kill you.They fail at the nut weld and leak oil which gets all over the rear tyre.It happened to me last year ...I suffered a huge slide and almost high sided.They are now made in China and are poor quality.Sometimes they literally explode.Please check it out ,don't take my word for it.You are playing Russian Roulette.I bought mine from a reputable online seller and I have 2 Triumph bikes that have had these filters fitted every year with no problems but now I won't ever use them again.The seller did not seem interested after I told him I fitted it myself.I reckon he thought I had over-tightened it but I only ever put them on by hand....the nut is for taking off only.

    Did you not prime the oil pump before installation?? I've heard you should do that because the oil level will drop quite a to fill it plus all the oil channels. Lucky you the coolant res is down there, on my 2020 striple r its above and forward of the rearset which makes it a bitch to get at.

    • @frbfreeridebeans
      @frbfreeridebeans  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi thanks for the view and comment. Do you mean the oil filter? If so then the answer is no I only put some oil around the oring. And before I start the bike I do flick it over a few times to prime it.

    Hi mate great video. I have just brought a 2014 street triple r with 10000 on clock. When would u recommend major service some have said 12 but can stretch it to 13 or 14 thousand. Also what's it roughly cost for a major service thanks

    • @frbfreeridebeans
      @frbfreeridebeans  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi thanks for the view and comment it’s much appreciated. As for the service it’s 12,000 miles it involves a valve check I’ve heard of people paying £800 ish for main dealer to as low as £450 at an independent. Personally I wouldn’t push my luck over the mileage. IMHO it’s not worth the risk but that’s a choice you’ll have to make. Sorry I can’t be any more helpful but I hope that helps.

    Great video mate, gonna have a go on my 2017 RS, it's due its 3yr service but it's only done 1800miles, what's your opinion? Is a similar service to yours enough? Seen many people saying doing valve check etc is a waste of money at such low miles even though its at 3 years.... don't worry I won't blame you if it goes pear shapes.

    • @frbfreeridebeans
      @frbfreeridebeans  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Valve checks should be done at 12k miles buddy so you should be fine. But I’d ask a dealer or check your service book. Sorry I couldn’t be any more help 👍
