Same thing has just happened to my wife’s car, took it to the garage for a ABS fault and got a phone call to say I needed 3 new tyres. I couldn’t believe it as they weren’t that old but they showed me the old ones when I got there and absolutely shocked how bad they were. Never before have I had that and I’m fairly careful at keeping up with tyre pressures and maintenance
I used to work with this brand a lot at work. I’ve fitted over 15,000 tyres and have plenty of experience. There’s a couple of reasons why this has happened. Firstly let’s not forget that tyre brands do have faulty tyres. A lot of machines and robots are used but humans have to supervise the safety and reliability of it. I’ve worked with some dodgy tyre fitters over the years and fitting tyres incorrectly can cause a bead rip or a perishing line around the tyre. Bare in mind this is before it’s gone back on the vehicle. It’s up to the tyre fitter to realise the mistake that he’s done before risking someone’s life or multiple lives
Hello Sir, I guess tyres were at the front both of them, if you take a close look to the tyre bead (junction area with the rim) you can clearly see that the bead rubber is heated severly and the rubber color at this area around all the circumference is transformed from black to blue, also a severe traces of rim emprints to the bead, all of these signs means that the tyre was driven out of its proper use conditions, and big heat generation in the bead area, maybe from a problem in braking system, maybe its a result of an aggressive sporty driving/braking which can be also accelerated if tyres slightly under unflated. The heat generation in the bead area will be transferred to the lower sidewall by the casing wires which is leading logically to a lower bead separation. The oppening was specifically in this area because after the separation was began, the casing end ply will push to the outside of the tyre. In general any tyre brand which is used out of its proper conditions range will have similar damages. It is really recommended to adjust tyre pressure at the recommended value on the vehicle, check braking systems, avoid aggressive driving, sudden brake/acceleration, sudden cornering on high speeds. Your safety when driving, is related to 4 small imprints of the contact of your tyres to the ground. Nothing matter, no brand matter when it is coming to safety, we need you safe, your family need you safe, we are responsible to keep our selves and our families safe inside the car. Do not loose contact with ground. Do not forget the proper use of your tyres. Take care! Secur Pneu.
