Looking good amigo, good job and clean 👏
As a high end Plasterer/plastering contractor we put a tight tight base coat then wait till tacky a put a another coat and get as smooth as possible then let set up and trowel down being careful not to create burn marks only the best plasterers in pebble beach Carmel high end work at its best and being clean not to splll any material
My expirance is that most santa Barbara finishes should done differently. #1 bigger trawl, bigger hawk, corner bead shold always be applied , let brown set 2 days' application of first caot with a rubber float , and finish coat passing over only 2 times . Look at proper spacing of texture to connect texture, the flat surface should connect all evenly. Finish one side at a time.
Dope bro 💯🔥
Keep practicing 🫡👍🏻
On your final smooth pass you have to time it just right go wider longer passes. Do not over trowel to avoid burning blemishes & short trowel marks. Lay it down dont over burn with trowel. Your trowel marks tell a story. None the less 💯 👍🏻
nice work 👍👍👍
🔥💯
Good video
Nice!
Awesome work I’ve seen others lath the corners so they aren’t waive
Just subscribed bro
Got to get the block wet before first coat.
Can you do this on permabase board?
Where’d you buy this omega smooth
Thanks for the video, but can't find Spec Mix Cement One Coat on internet searches. Does it have another name, and would the typical quikrete stucco mix from home depot work for the brown coat in this application?
Quick Crete has the scratch and brown coat I think it’s a green bag
I wish i can do smooth finish like yours
You can definitely do it it just takes time and take it slow
My boy if you ever need help I’m here in SoCal too
Should have glued up the block first, then scratched the base coat. Then applied finish coat.
I threw glue in the mix. Some times I don’t and never had an issue.
You don't need a bonding agent on a porous cementitious surface
Bro
Im a solid plasterer from New Zealand.
We dash our walls first, just wondering why you guys in the states dont.
Nice job. I’m new to stucco a question I have is can I put smooth stucco over rough stucco that seems to be painted? If so can you please explain the steps for me. Thank you
You have to pressure wash, use bonding glue, skim coat a brown 3/8-1/2 inch then do your finish coats
You a fan of the pool trowels for smooth or you’d rather stick with the square trowels
How come no blue weld Crete bonding agent over blocks will pop off over time guaranteed
Good video....BUT should have misted the cmu block wall for optimum strength/connection of stucco before starting.
Hi
How long do you wait in each coat since the beginning?
Thanks
Before you lay down the first coat before texture do you want to wait at least 5-10 minutes you want it semi dry So you could do the texture. If you’re talking about the scratch and brown coat You wait at least an hour or two Because I threw Excelerator in the cement and rapids it so it dried really fast
What kind of mix do you use for a smooth stucco finish ?
Santa Barbra smooth omega brand
Nice. What is the mix for the smooth coat you use?
Sorry for the late response but I use omega Santa Barbra smooth coat.
Spec mix cement the same thing as Spec mix mortar?
Yes sir. I use spec mix for patches a lot. But I like to add my touch to the mix like glue or fiber and both sometimes
Hey boss very nice job..what number did you use for final finish 20/30
I used 20/30 for the first coat, then Santa Barbra smooth on top of that but extra thick, to thin will leave alot of burn marks by the trowel. The trowel matters too.
i can answer for you? santa bárbara is only 20/30 i guess, that’s the finest finish material for smooth of la habra
What material is that white stuff
Santa barbra smooth coat
Don’t forget NEPAD next time good jop
