In this video we show how to prep before laying stucco and how each plasterer gets picked to the each section. I truly believe anyone can do this once you practice. Some companies pay up to $200 a day for people who can do this work. Once your done with your section you can go home. The faster you complete the more money you make per hour. This can be done in 5 hours or less

No, at 87 i no longer work Don. The guy is walking too far to the mortar board, have your guys set up another for him.
I really think you would be better off applying a base coat and letting it harden till the next day before applying a second coat, especially on the wire lath soffits. The system you use wastes alot of mud. The slicker you use for applying and leveling the mud is no different than leveling it with a darby after it has been trowled on. We sometimes used what we called an edge instead of the darby, but the mortar was always applied with a trowel. Going over it with the wet foam float does create a good surface for applying a texture finish. And it isnt really necessary to straighten the mud quite as well when applying a texture finish either. I dont think your labor factor would change by applying a base coat today and a finish coat tomorrow.

Well there’s fast, and then there’s half fast.
There have always been some plasterers who were a bit faster applying the mud than others were.
But quality is what gets more work, not how fast you can get it done.
And it can even help as for getting paid for what you have done.

    Dudes a decent trowel
Dunno know bout fastest but gotta pace yourself I guess
All areas do different techniques for different results
You're in FLA so this gets sponge float n paint I'm guessing? As far as throwing it at the wall, that's not a good look but it's just a scratch coat so
What's with the backhand along the top tho?
