    I've been taking it for four years 1mg/day (maybe I skipped just 10days in this period),
    and I can clearly say that it gave me brain fog which I wasn't quite sure that I had this for all this time, now I think it's been a month that I stopped taking it and already I can feel the difference, my concentration is much better and I can focus on things with ease, and also I had difficulty remembering stuff which it is also recovering, I'm not going to take it anymore since I can see that Im sensitive to this drug.

    • @timtim-hf3ut
      @timtim-hf3ut 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Best to take few hrs before bed and you can skip the fog during day. But I'm also on testosterone so maybe just works for me

    • @BamBam-me8sf
      @BamBam-me8sf 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@timtim-hf3ut It's the lowering of dht which causes the brain fog, so the time of day you dose is irrelevant, hence it taking like 2-3 weeks for the brain fog to clear.

    Twice a day is incorrect. The general advice is once a day, and there are claims that three times a week is enough, too.
    I suggest you watch The Hairloss Show for more details.

    • @thehylander266
      @thehylander266 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep. Best to start with a dose of 0.25mg and wait 4-8 months and if no side effects then I’ll it to 0.5mg and then rinse and repeat until desired dosage is reached. Gives the body time to adjust and up-regulate compensatory enzymes.

    I'm still getting head pressure and brain fog four months after stopping - only took it for about a fortnight! Even if if the sides go away for 99% of people after stopping I'd strongly discourage anyone from trying finasteride. Wish I'd seen videos like these before taking it myself. It often feels like I'm an observer inside my own head - or as I heard someone else describe it, like my brain's wrapped in cling film. Even as someone who loves their long hair... It's not worth rolling the dice with this drug. When I can't hide my thinning anymore I'll cut it short/bald and get some cool hats, maybe a wig for a laugh. Perhaps just rock the baldness eventually. Honestly at this point I just hope the sides go away or lessen with time. Thanks again for the video! It's good to hear others talking about their experience with male hair loss. Not something that's easy to publicly talk about.

    Am on 1mg per day and no side effects. Finasteride is one of the safest most popular drugs men take, and has been for decades. Studies and patient-follow-ups show that less than 2% of people (the real number is closer to less than 1%) who take the drugs get side effects which subside after stopping. And even then, it's less than 1% because in the studies, compared to people taking placebo, there was no significant difference in that portion of the population not on the drug who would have same side effects as well, from getting older and other health issues. Finasteride at the prescribed 1mg dose only blocks 70% of DHT. You still have 30% of DHT, which for the vast majority of people is more than enough for sex drive. DHT is mainly a sexual maturation hormone for puberty. After puberty, it continues to age men, and in excess amounts leads to hair loss and growth of prostate cancer. It has very limited uses in the body after puberty. Testosterone is more important and used for muscle building and also for sex drive. Finasteride does not block testosterone. So unless you are a man who has very low testosterone, you should have enough testosterone and DHT left over for basic sex drive, PRODIVDED you have a good diet to support it, like enough zinc, copper, B vitamins, choline, folate, glycine, betaine.
    There are many people trying to sell snake oil salesman hair loss products that do not work, or who own hair loss forums with adds from lawyers looking to prey of gullible people to sue drug companies that make finasteride for money, because of their greed, for imaginary disorders that do not exist and have not been proven and have been debunked by the scientific literature, like "post-finasteride syndrome." There is nom such thing as post-finasteride syndrome. The effects do not last forever. Side effects subside once drug is stopped. Much research has been done on this.
    These forums send trolls to spam comments on youtube with fake comments, and some youtubers looking to grow large hair loss channels talk about the drug in a bad way to create fake controversy to grow a subscription base of people who are afraid of using the drug and instead use theirs or someone's snake oil supplement which does not work for hair loss, so that they can get views and more ad revenue. Many of these gullible people come from hair loss forums and are overweight, diabetic incels who suffer from such preexisting health conditions and want to blame the drug they usually only tried for a few weeks or months for side effects they already experienced from time to time because of their preexisting health issues which they do not want to tackle because they do not want to stop eating junk food and lose weight or tackle the cause of their low testosterone levels, etc. Many of these people read fake reviews of the drug that are bad before using the drug and, as a result, suffer from the ''no placebo effect."' A nocebo effect is said to occur when negative expectations of the patient regarding a treatment cause the treatment to have a more negative effect than it otherwise would have. For example, when a patient anticipates a side effect of a medication, they can suffer that effect even if the "medication" is actually an inert substance. The complementary concept, the placebo effect, is said to occur when positive expectations improve an outcome. Both placebo and nocebo effects are presumably psychogenic, but they can induce measurable changes in the body . More can be read about the "no placebo effect" here:
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nocebo
    Truth is, side effects are extremely rare with the drug and it has been used for decades by tens of millions of people and if side effects were common, tens of millions would not be using it. Even the follow-up studies show after 2-3 years or more, people mostly are just fine. Most hair loss doctors also report similar results after 20 or so years of treating patients with the drug. It is very safe and non-toxic to the liver and organs at the low dosage as well. Also, there are populations of people who for genetic reasons produce little DHT due to a polymorphism that effects the 5AR enzymes synthesis and they are just fine and healthy.
    Finasteride is the ONLY thing proven to work. And if someone is concerned about preventing or stopping hair loss before it is too late, the best thing they can do is get on it ASAP before it is too late and it all falls out or most of it falls out and they need a far more costly option like hair transplant surgery, if they can afford it and want it. Sadly, some people listen to the scammers selling useless snake oil products that do not work, or youtube gurus trying to get ad revenue and sell their 'courses' on scam 'at home treatments' that also do not work, and they end up wasting hundreds to thousands of dollars, and much time, which means many hair follicles that can not be brought back.
    In the rare event that one gets side effects taking finasteride, and it is legitimate and not the 'no placebo' effects, or part of a preexisting health condition, they can lower the dose and in most cases do well, or just give it some time and the side effects will pass and they will adjust. Some hair loss doctors recommend patients take 1mg every other day, or three days per week instead of 1 mg to lesson any possible side effects. Some doctors have patients take 0.5mg per day, and some doctors in Asia give dosages of 0.25mg per day.

      Have you tried RU54881? It’s a good adjunct or alternative with less to no side effects. It directly blocks androgens whole Finasteride blocks the 5AR DHT enzyme. So both work well together.
      One other option to look into would be to microdose Finasteride orally with 0.5 or 0.25mg per day and then use 0.5 or 1mg Finasteride mixed with 50mg of RU54881 powder topically on your head so that most goes directly to the scalp and less gets in your body. And the low micro dose of oral Finasteride is just some “insurance.”
      You just need Propylene Glycol and 95% ethanol to mix it with and a cheap scale to weigh the powder. You can get all of that on Amazon. A ratio of of 70/30 ethanol to Propylene Glycol would work well. Mix that with the RU powder and crush the finastride pull into a powder and add it into the solution and mix well and it should be ready to apply on the scalp each night.

      Its true what you say. DHT is not necessary at all for sex drive if youre already sexually matured (18+). The reason why some experience sides is because of increased estrogen levels. But its usually transient. I actually had sexual sides for a few weeks, but after continued use they went away completely. The drug does work and is indeed safe. Compare it to so many other drugs, like SSRIs where the rates of sexual dysfunction can be over 50%!
