    What people fail to realize is that stories like Damon (and myself and other commenters here) are very common. There have to be millions (at the very least hundreds of thousands) of men with lesser symptoms who stay in the closet about it. Don't conclude from our silence that you can safely take this drug. -- Note to Damon you're a very courageous guy for speaking up. I don't have the balls to go on camera so I just leave comments online. What's happened to us is tragic, but let it be fuel to make the most out of this life that fell into our lap, find meaning in saving others, etc. Sending karma your way!

      I hear you on the hair. But one day you'll accept and life will be beautiful again. More importantly, let's hope your symptoms go away. They should, but it can sometimes take many months. After that you could give topical a shot (or minoxidil) but the risk is that, as happened to me, you won't notice the finasteride changes until long after they have become permanent.

      @Happy Ri there are plenty of people who got fucked by just 1 pill. I guess 1 pill is enough to inginite the whatever chain reaction that causes pfs that we don’y know about yet. 1 pill/shot of any medicine is substantial enough to cause side effects. He took 1 pill, got side effects, then stopped taking it, but the sides stayed and got worse. What’s so hard to understand? You don’t need to take fin for years to develop pfs.

    • @damonkize
      @damonkize 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @Happy Ri To be clear, I felt cognitively different by the same evening (around 8 or so hours after taking the pill.) I felt something was off, just didn't feel like myself. Over the next few days it gradually got worse; it was substantial enough to where I never took another pill. Otherwise I would've kept taking it. By about 3 days after taking the drug I felt completely dissociated from everything around me, like I was dreaming. It all got worse from there physically, mentally, etc. It peaked at around a year and a half after taking that pill, where things kind of stagnated. I'm not going to spend too much time replying to comments like yours because it's quite simple. If you don't have or never had PFS, you can't relate to it. All I can do is try and share my experience and discourage anybody from ever taking Finasteride.

That wasn't true for me & looking back at what they said no wonder more guys like you believe this, I did too but I stuck with It. It took a long time to perfect my TRT regimen and for my body to heal. Clomid has horrible side effects of its own and it will only increase your T while you are on it. TLDR; I think you mean well but you are perpetuating a narrative that does not help us.
      What you say is very similar to what many doctors have told me: "give it time, take it easy, try exercising" ...etcetera. I agree that this is good advice in general, but you must understand that most of us have already been there. I've done the lifestyle changes. I eat healthy and varied, I avoid alcohol and caffeine (or at least go easy on them). I work out regularly, focus on my job and my friends, doing therapy, all of that stuff. If therapy and time were the solution, these videos would not exist. I've been to a urologist, endocrinologist and a therapist and apart from ruling out a hyperprolactinoma or prostate cyst as potential causes (they didn't find any), they have not been able to do much. In the case of PFS, it is very hard to even get them to listen, because the danger of finasteride has not been accepted as established knowledge in the medical community, and patients tend to be very confident that finasteride has a role in this. A confidence that doctors are not willing to share.
      Most doctors I have visited tend to express the suggestion that it is likely psychological before they have even bothered to do a single test or even ask further questions. It is tiresome and heartbreaking. I don't mind if a doctor tells me that they don't know what the problem is or if it is beyond their scope of expertise, but to hear a doctor dismiss you is very frustrating. Believe me, I wish it were psychosomatic, because I believe I would be a lot further ahead in life at this point in my trajectory, but sadly that is not the case.

      @@anonymousse7054 I know that it inhibits 5ar and could cause like 4 yrs for someone to recover a horrible event. To be honest I don’t disagree with you if anything I’m in the middle ground, there should be more research done about this drug but sadly we don’t want to look on about the dangers. It’s pretty depressing losing hair but to end up with sides is horrible, I’m know chemist but you could give 5ar a try or to supplement with it and see how it goes and to keep up with everything else.

      @@anonymousse7054 I’d focus on those two conditions and make the most of it, and get plenty of sun and making sure you monitor your health. Look for a doctor who maybe works with these types of situations even I would think that’s best for these types of issues; don’t give up man.

      @@bulletbites6720 I'm not aware of any '5 ar supplement'. There is no such thing. If you're talking about taking Mesterolone/Proviron or other testosterone supplements. Many have tried.
