In live performances, Pentatonix use ear phones that give them a click beat. This makes it much easier to stay together and in time. Kirstin and Scott have both said that when they occasionally lose track of their note they listen for Mitch; once he gets started Mitch is ALWAYS in tune, and from his notes they can get their notes. The other side of that coin is that occasionally, in a live concert, they'll suddenly notice that they aren't singing when they should be, and the reason is always the same: they were listening to Mitch's beautiful voice and stopped singing so they could hear him better. Ah, the hazards of working with one of the best singers in the world.
🤩👉I was at this concert, it's AMAZING that they filled the Hollywood Bowl!! Fans flew from EVERYWHERE to see this show!!

Again, thank you for persevering. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to continually have your reaction videos blocked. "I Rise" is an original they released about 9 months ago as Audio only. They also did a live performance on the Masked Singer - the best version is an unmasked version of Creep.
I do believe they did react to the Creep video., but not yet to I Rise. They did do a live version of that on their Euro tour two years ago.
If ever I come into some money all I want to do is fly over and watch live shows of pentatonix. Won't even go sight seeing. TX for this. Greetings from South Africa
They really are the most personable. My husband and I met Kevin in the elevator the day before the show (we stupidly didn’t ask for a selfie) and then I met Scott and Mark after the show (I did ask for a picture and they were so kind, Scott offered to take the pic “because he has great selfie arms) and then I ran into Matt right before check out and we took a pic. Seeing them live is always surreal, but this time takes the cake!
No auto tune? No problem, they do it themselves 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I love that part as well.
I was at this concert and it was amazing! I believe there’s a video for every song at that concert. Try their Star Wars performance at the American Music Awards or Heroes and Villains for a tribute to the Beach Boys at the Grammys or Problem done live at a European radio station.
The only hero’s and villains that’s left is the one recorded by a fan from far away. The one that aired on tv is gone and they wouldn’t be able to,do that anyway without getting a strike.

Yes....!!! this is an awesome medley......the whole Hollywood Bowl concert is fantastic. They do have a sound/mixer guy that has been with them forever...his name is Jason Bennett...Bennett Sound. HE is the man behind their live sound and mixes them perfectly. Hope you can react to more of their new stuff....Oh Holy Night...and Christmas time is here/Pure Imagination are too die for....Love the reactions!
The original is fun to watch, too. They are dressed in 90s clothing, which they change into other 90s clothing as they sing. AND I want Scott's glasses. I recommend it.
On the mix: when I saw them in Melbourne the sound desk was epic. Six monitors and a tech for each one. It's a far cry from blowing speakers in school auditoriums 13 years ago
Also, Kirstie was like 3 months post partum here. She is a beast, a queen.

The arrangement they use is from Sister Act. "Joyful, Joyful" started as a Latin hymn, the most common music setting is "Ode to Joy" by Beethoven. PTX brings their own Joy to the show.

If you EVER have a chance to see them live. Do not miss the opportunity. It is an experience you will never forget. Watching them perform live just confirms how amazing they are.
It is really mind boggling that they sound just as good live. What they do is really hard and they do it so effortlessly.
Keep in mind this was the first time they’d performed the 90’s dance medley live. They’re just that good. They have quite a few of these professionally recorded livestreams now. Always great sound quality. At least a couple of their Christmas shows and the rest of this concert. Which I was at and it was incredible. You should be safe with any of that content. Look up evergreen experience livestream, the most wonderful tour of the year livestream which you can find on my channel, and of course the Hollywood bowl 2022. My Hollywood bowl content is just my phone recordings but the Hollywood bowl,but the most wonderful tour of the year stuff is from their livestream. I haven’t had any issues putting that stuff up.

When I saw them back in September they did this song. They are absolutely phenomenal live. This was my second time seeing them live.
Scott’s runs are always a clue to the liveness of it all. Dif riffs depending on what he feels.
It’s my personal opinion (unsupported by any particular knowledge) that singing live is the natural default for PTX, even though their recordings are stellar as well. They just don’t disappoint, ever. If this video posted with no TH-cam drama, there are many more from this Hollywood Bowl concert. It was recorded to stream afterwards so the quality is very good. Their Kentucky Christmas concert may have been professionally recorded as well, if you want to give any of those songs a try. Love that you both love them so much! Peace …
Imagine thousands of people at a concert (at an amphitheater, which is technically outside and non-air conditioned) in the Florida summer heat, temps over 100° F at night. Every person physically able was standing and dancing like crazy during this song! I was lucky enough to be in the front row, and I'm telling you right now, Pentatonix is the realest deal around!! Even when they occasionally use backing tracks for songs (like for "I Rise"), it's still incredible.
There are quite a few live performances here - you won't have any trouble. They are absolutely incredible live, I hope you get to see them sometime!
They have a new Evolution of Taylor Swift. No official video yet, but there are multiple recordings from their recent shows where they premiered it.
Saw them do this in concert. It was crazy good. Everyone was out of their seats dancing and singing. Such fun.

The first time I saw the MV of this, I never thought they'd sing it live but here it is. I believe this Hollywood Bowl performance was the first time they did it. Trivia: Kirstie's baby was 3-4 months at this time.
If you have never seen the official video watch it so you can see how close the live version is with notes and transitions. In the official video they use autotune on the Cher Song “Believe . Life After Love” because Cher used it for effect.
For a huge WOW, check out the official video of Problem, an Ariana Grande Song. Then listen to them perform it live at a radio station ( Pentatonix Problem, FM Live ) You will be mind blown.

I had the privilege to see PTX in concert last summer. Amazing. Scott is so upbeat and positive. He speaks most of the time. Please do Scott's Mad About You the cinematic version. It is epic.

I was at that concert and had great seats near the stage. They sounded fantastic and they generated so much energy. It was, as you say, perfection.
They have several performances on award shows and talk shows that I think might be safe. Check out Kelly Clarkson show, Jimmy Kimmel, Good Morning America, etc

"Why Try" Kirstie as a guest singer with the high school singing group "Forte". Really good ! and "Show Yourself" Kirstie singing a Disney movie classic song with the fabulous Disney singing group "Voctave". This one will is only in audio but you have to hear it to believe it. From what I understand, as of Jan. 1st 2024 PTX went independant, they are not signed with any record company, therefore there should be no more copyright on their videos, if what I read is true. Worth keeping in mind and checking out later on.
Yes, of course they have a complete sound, lighting, and video crew when they are live. Its how they make their living. It has to be done right.

Fun fact: In the studio version of this song, they actually do use pretty heavy autotune when they sing Believe as an homage to the way Cher originally did it.

I wasn't here, but I've seen them do this live and they are just astonishing. I enjoy watching you appreciate the greatness! The official video isn't better, it's exactly the same - except they actually use autotune on the Cher bits to honor her original. Leave it to Mitch to be able to semi-duplicate that live! He is like a magpie, he can make his voice sound like so many things!

There’s many other songs from the Hollywood Bowl (under Ptxlive) that are all good quality. Although you might have done all of the originals of those already.
I don’t think you’ve done Pure Imagination/Christmas Time is Here. There’s a vevo live version of that which might be easier to make it past copyright.
Something you guys did added sound that I haven’t heard before. Maybe your system has some EQ settings my iPad lacks. Another reviewer noted that this was Kirstie’s first concert back after having her baby and that she seemed a bit tired by the end. He said that “I know you know this. C’mon, sing it with me,” gave her just a gulp breath to get back on. I still think of them as the 19 year-old kids but they’re stone pros.
