@@hornerinf He just casually played CARNEGIE HALL for cello AND piano AND saxophone...when he was 12 years old. Twelve. T W E L V E. And it was a solo recital, not part of an ensemble.
Oh, & he's fluent in four languages- one of which is Chinese- & dropped out of the first semester of pre-med to do The Sing-Off...then went back & finished the semester!

Kevin’s a genius, Period.
Having followed them from the Babytonix stage, their sound has matured so much. This is amazing and one of my favorites from their new album. I can't wait to see them live next month!
I saw them live just this past Monday night, it was an amazing show, have a great time when you see them next month. Oh, be prepared for PTX getting the audience to sing along with the band.

Meh. Those are from the Masked Singer show, where they used canned instrumental backing tracks.
I like that they're using more of their own talents, like when Kevin breaks out his cello, or Scott plays piano.
They're incredibly talented and they need to keep challenging themselves, including using instruments, but not just a synthetic track.
For more of Scott's rasp, I'd suggest 2 from last year's Xmas album--Prayers For This World and their cover of Last Christmas.
They are up for another Grammy!
Megestic is a great word to describe Kirstan's voice. She sounds like how a Disney Princess should sing. It's just too good.
Ahhh I've missed you guys! Good to see your Scott crush still going strong LOL. No but they seriously snapped on this. Scott's run down to his low baritone register, Matt's entire verse, hearing Kirstie coming forward during the bridge, Mitch in his more natural register, and of course Kevin sealed the deal.
This is a cover song, originally done by Seal. I love Scott's belting !!! He seems to be more open and has a sexy quality on this one. Matt's voice is so rich and inviting. Kirstie was just so clear and clean cut through all the guys voices. She is EPIC !! OMG, your faces and reaction to Kevin's "Baaaabay!" was priceless !! 😅😅 Scott's last belt was GALACTIC !! I love this version of the song and am more amazed every time I listen to it. Never really cared for the original, probably because it was so over played. But THIS, this is pure MAGIC ! Thanks guys for your reactions.

Good to see you guys again... I missed seeing your reactions of PTX. Your reaction to "Kiss from a Rose" has one very distinctive similarity that is common with other reactors. This video is so good that, while hearing it when those big vocal splashes/surprises happen, the reactors at these moments have some difficulty stringing sentences together because of wanting to express so many thoughts at one time. lol I Love it! PTX has 31songs (8 new songs) on their most recent album (Kiss from a Rose is one) to react on. And let's hear that little Queen Kirstie's vibrato again! 👍

Long time no see. Haven't listened to ptx recently. Scott's voice is even better than I remember. It has more gravitas. The grit sounds more natural. Love it!

So, so happy to see the two of you again. I laughed when Marco just strait out said he doesn't like this song. Every reactor, and Ive seen dozens, is either speechless or only capable of repeating a few words over and over again. A frequent exclamation is: "What did I just see?!" I'm personally calling this: PTX, all grown up. I have lidtened to this live version at least 100 times in a matter of days and IT JUST GETS BETTER! I loved your reactions, playing pieces over again - the excitement growing. Pentatonix has reached a whole new level with this performance. Their skill and creativity has no limit and Pentaholics and reactors, alike have run out of words in the dictionary to describe what they are hearing!

I am SO glad to see you two reacting to this!! I know it's hard getting their videos up, and we appreciate the struggle you go through. But hey, even if they can't be reacted to, you can still listen to them, because PTX is NOT slowing down any time soon!! Last year's Christmas album was recently nominated for a Grammy, by the way! Also, their non-Christmas music going forward is now going to be self-labeled, so that may help tremendously with the whole copyright thing.

I had to click this instantly just to see the reaction to Scott haha. He does use his raspiness a bit more on his solo album he released last year if you're interested. Ok, I'm gonna continue watching the video now.

You said you have been missing Mitch's voice so you might want to react to his solo stuff as Messer. He puts it out on his own label so I doubt very much it would get blocked. His most recent single Halfway is amazing and he wrote it himself and co-produced it too. But a lot of people find the Messer visualisers a bit odd, so be prepared for that!
Also: the Making of Evergreen mini documentary by PTX would probably blow your mind. It is so interesting to see the behind the scenes stuff.
Kirsten is a mezzo soprano, Mitch is a tenor who has a beautiful falsetto ( he's able to do a first and second soprano ), Matt is the the bass and has a great falsetto as well, Scott is the baritone and is just a freak of nature with the range he has, Kevin he's a high tenor and beatboxer. He is an actual genius. Look him up. But this song was in Batman Forever and was originally done by SEAL. Honestly watching this performance I see Scott looking like he's Michael Jackson in the Dirty Diana video. Their song Thank You is an original and is awesome. Check it out.

Yes, I've seen a lot of people react to this too, and this is truly one of the best reactions... I just love how it starts off, "I don't really like this song," to "OMG. That was the best song ever!" (not a direct quote, but that's the general gist).

Kello. 😂😭🤣 11:40 - Hard SAME! On the first listen I was like, WTAH Kirstie & Scott?! I love it when they harmonize. Missed you guys. You’re the best mix of fangirl & music knowledge on YT. Oh, Holy Night is a must do. Seriously it does NOT matter that it’s not Christmas. Kirstie will blow your socks, hat, boots, and coat off.
It’s live, with some probably post production. Kevin is also looping which is why it sounds like there are multiple instruments at certain points.
I thought you have to press a pedal to start a loop. I can only see him doing that before the second half of his solo. I heard the string sounds. Could that be post production?
I don't think he is looping, but definitely a distortion pedal because why should the guitar guys have all the fun.
Background vocals have always been a star for PTX. Hallelujah gave us the blueprint for their unique way of elevating the background support. I know that every time they release a new song, Pentaholics think it should be a grammy winner, but I really think this is grammy worthy.
It's SO GOOD to see you guys again. I've really missed you. Plus for you to come back with this song. Maybe the BEST one they've ever done. And, KEVIN, OMG, no one and i MEAN no one can do what he does. AWESOME. I hope to see you more often now.
Missed you guys and your PTX reaction. I would advise you to check out their new Christmas album and specifically the 8 new songs (this is one of the 8). Also check out Scott's new solo album - Parallel and several of Mitch's new solo releases (Messer - Oblivion, Velvet and Halfway). If you like the grit check out their sendoff performance of Creep from the Masked Singer show...alot like this but it does have a backing band as that was required on the show. Finally, their Christmas album from 2021 - Evergreen was nominated for a Grammy (did not win) and last year's Christmas album - Holidays around the World is nominated this year for a Grammy.
The studio version will KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF, too. Trust me!
Kevin's ability to cellobox, beatboxing, and playing the cello at the same time, make me think of rubbing your tummy, patting your head while spinning plates and balancing on a ball.

I think when they first had Matt in the band he was singing arrangements and solos written for avi. They are so different in strengths, tone, style etc so it was hard for him to excel. I feel like pentatonix really found how to play to Matt’s strengths and he has really grown with the group. Incredible to see! Can’t believe this is live honestly.

Most Pentatonix fans prefer reactors who pause and react to the videos instead of letting them play straight through and them making a short statement afterwards. I saw them from the front row perform this last year. OMGosh - Kevin was on the stage right in front of me & I just can't describe how I felt hearing & seeing this up close!! Their whole concert was amazing. My goose bumps had goose bumps!! I hope y'all will get to go see them live! It's truly a religeous experience. That was December & now it's Feb. & I have not yet come down from cloud 9!!!

I am so glad you guys reacted to this one. When I heard it on the day of release I thought of you two. My first thought was I hope the 'MAP guys react to this one!! It's been so long since I heard one of your reactions to PTX! Thank you, thank you! It was worth the wait. I love how you react to the subtle nuances of each singer, the arrangement, and the entire composition. You are two of my favorite reactors. This song is so epic. Definitely award material.
