If my daughter cut her hair horribly, I'd also laugh hysterically then give her a tight hug. Hair grows back and it was a good learning experience! Now, if one cut the other's hair, I would not be as understanding. My 4yo isn't allowed any scissors because she cut a tiny bit of her 2yo sister's hair. Luckily, we couldn't even figure out WHERE the lock came from and it was a good opportunity to discuss how we use scissors. It could have been far far worse

Yes I would bust out a good laugh.. I have twins girls when they your young one cut her hair it was very short and the other twin kept laughing at her and teasing her so I took them both to the salon got the ones Straighten out and the twin that was being mean ended up with thr same hair cut but a little bit longer but not by much. Don't know if I did the right thing its one of those thing I question but the teasing stopped and hair does grow back. Their hair grows fast so it wasn't long it was back to the original length. Plus they still looked beautiful with short hair.

I did the same when I was 4... the lady in daycare just asked me to remind my mum that I need a new haircut. My hair was really getting into my eyes.... I gently reminded my mum about it. Nothing happened. So, next week I got the second reminder... So, as I was actually on the same page with the daycare lady and the hair was bothering me, I took the action.... I just got to the mirror and did it. My mum was at home that day. And I just realized that it is not what I expected and I went to mum to report it. It was not horrible but I think we both got a good lesson 😀 no cries, no drama...
My mum knew then that I was a little tough girl and I knew that I should cut it at least 5 cm longer with a super sharp tool.

It’s a really dopey trend. I can’t remember if it started in Madrid, or Italy, but over the last 5 years or so, it’s become popularized. Some of these stylists have waiting lists well over a year for a cut & style. These people insist that burning the hair serves to sort of cauterize (for lack of a better word) the ends of each strand of hair, removing split ends & leaving them incapable of splitting again. Also, something about severe heat strengthening keratin, dramatically slowing hair loss. But there’s a specialized gel they use so that the hair doesn’t smell burned, and to control the flame, because I think we all know what happens when you set hair on fire, that shit is difficult to control. To avoid exactly what happened to this poor kid, there are safety measures & precautions taken. I don’t think the “stylist” in this video understood the assignment. And honestly, I don’t care how long the waiting list is, I will not be paying anyone to set me on fire. I know plenty of people who’d be willing to do that for free.

I cut my own fringe/bang between the hairdresser’s cut because it grows so fast! I’ve bought some hair scissors for the job and cut it to my satisfaction. However, the other day I cut it as usual, my husband came home and said it was wonky! The next day I got my scissors looking for the wonky bits? Trimmed it a little even though it looked fine. My husband came home and told me he was just winding me up about my hair being wonky!! 🤣 I told him off telling him never to joke around about my hair because I’ll end up with a very short fringe!! 🤣
I find the videos where people cut their fringe wrong and too short very funny!! 🤣

When I was around nine I needed a haircut, and my stepfather told my mom he could do it. My bangs went from ear to ear. I looked like one of those medieval monks with the bowl cut, but worse. They had to call my step-father's younger sister who was a stylist at like 9pm to come and fix it because I was crying my head off, and said I wouldn't go to school the next day. She fixed it. It was probably because of that experience I never cut my own hair. I don't dye it, I don't do weird treatments on it, I just get a haircut once in a while. So now I'm 38 and I have really strong, healthy hair.

It was so bad that I would have believed it if she said that my child did it herself. She owned up to it, but she later admitted that she tried to bribe my kid to take the blame. Even at four, my daughter wasn't owning that hack job.

I've cut my bangs myself on purpose before, just because they were getting annoying, and I didn't have the funds at the time for a salon job, and I didn't have anyone around who cut hair. So, remembering what most stylists say about hair "bouncing back" and being shorter once it dries, I managed to cut my bangs to a reasonable length/shortness, and didn't do too bad a job, despite lack of training.
That said, I do prefer to pay the pros -- partly because it's always a nice way to feel a bit pampered, and I know it will be a job done right.

Ever since then I have been giving myself wolf cuts via youtube advice. My hair doesn't look as nice as it did back in the day when stylists in my area gave a crap about their profession, but it's cheaper and I don't ignore myself. Keep on training them my dude, let them know that taking an extra five minutes and doing it right will pay off for everyone!

Thanks for mentioning that! I've been disfigured by every hairdresser ever since my early twenties. Even during the cutting, I found it wrong that all the hairdressers stood at an angle or to the side. So the result must be uneven. Everyone predicted that of course they could cut curls! Always one side longer than the other and holes in the hairline. Then to the next hairdresser to have it touched up. The second was even a celebrity hairdresser. After one hour he didn't have time anymore because he had to go to his son's first birthday party. 🙈When I made the appointment, I specifically asked for a double appointment so that there was really enough time to be able to make improvements. I still had to pay the full price everywhere. This is how my hair went from almost bottom length to shoulder length within 2 weeks by 3 hairdressers. Then all I had to do was correct them to chin length myself. Then it looked good. 🤗 That's why I've been cutting my curls myself for over 10 years.

For the “sock bun” at the end when you asked “what’s wrong with this?”, to answer your question, a couple of things:
    1. It’s made out of plastic, really bad for the environment. Socks are cotton, therefore natural and biodegradable, much better for the environment.
    2. You have to go out and buy the plastic thing, but everyone has worn out socks. Using what you already have creates less waste. It’s better to up cycle than buy new especially items that are plastic or have plastic packaging.
    3. Cost. It’s free to use an old sock you already have, the other costs money.

The iron thing - in the 1960s, before the days of hair straighteners, those of us with long curly hair used to iron our hair to try and get the desired "hip" straightness.

When I was in the 3rd grade (maybe) my great grandmother was dead set on going to get my a perm for volume or something. I HATED IT!!! She did that to me for the next couple years and, I STILL HATED IT!!! So, when I was about 12 I decided I was going to fix it and get that curly shit out of my hair. I did exactly what the girl and the older lady did in that video. I plugged the iron in and I proceeded to iron my hair out. It worked my hair was straight from there on out, she wasn’t even mad. Needless to say I never got another perm THANK GOODNESS!! 🤣🤣🤣

I have learned so so much from you videos , but ALSO you’re lighthearted , happy way of delivering the information has really been a good thing ; your videos have helped me smile and feel better in some dark times in life , and have helped me get through some difficult things . You do soooo much through your channel, thank you 💗

My sisters were teenagers in the 70s. They use to iron their hair straight. There wasn’t as many tools to straighten hair back them. You either blew dry it straight or used curlers and set it or hot curlers. Thank goodness it’s evolved a lot since then.

Once when my older sister was about 5 yrs old, she decided she didn't want to have her bangs any more. Our mother still had all one length long hair back then, so she must have wanted that for herself. She took it upon herself to "remove" her bangs with the scissors by cutting them as close to her scalp as she could. She was able to get a variety of lengths ranging from about 1/8" - 1/2" which made her look a little like a silly chicken who just rolled out of bed for a good stretch of time that seemed like almost a year. Lesson learned. First grade class photos notwithstanding, no harm, no foul.

and whatever it is takes way longer than 5 minutes. I did one craft video where you paint thumb tacks with glittery nail polish and push them into a ball made out of styrofoam in order to make it look like a dragon egg. Took a couple of hours.

I was a teenager in the '70s and we all straightened our hair with an iron except we put a damp satin scarf over top of it. It gave it a beautiful shine. Talk about a Time Saver. I still remember when curling irons came out it was like a dream come true we could straighten our hair by ourselves. Not to mention having to wash our hair every morning and blow dry it out so it wouldn't be all frizzy. As well half the time a blow dryer popped our circuit breaker and the power went out. I'm not much into progress but when it brings me things like a straightening iron I sure am.
