I love your channel I have a question for you. I have very long hair and it's healthy I rarely use a blow dryer and I'm careful when I use my flat iron or my curler rod. I am51 and I'm gray so I use a dark chocolate color to go with my complexion and the hair feels really soft but I'm getting breakage at the nape of my neck. Could you recommend something I an do to help it. And if you do get this thank you for your time.

No hate on Brad, but almost every hair cut fail/dye fail video I’ve seen him react to has the person having an awesome end result. 🤷‍♀️ I think this person was doing this video for clicks. If people don’t know how to even brush their hair properly, what makes them think it’d be a good idea to CUT IT YOURSELF?!??
There are many things I do for myself. BUT not until after meticulous research. It kinda becomes an obsession for me. I make sure I know all there is to know, but more importantly concentrating what NOT to do and why. I’m unsure in this day and age with all the information at our fingertips, even visual tutorials, why someone would skip that and jump right to picking up a tool for a project you don’t know the first thing about. Or if you can’t be bothered, just rely on a professional!!!
I cut my own hair, I’ve been doing that since I’m a teenager and all my hair was waist length, much easier to do yourself at that length. I’ve NEVER cut my own hair if it’s above my bra line in the back, just can’t see it well enough to do that myself.
I also dye my own hair, but I have never ever used a box dye and why is that? Because I did the research about it before I ever put a drop of color on my hair.
I remodeled a bathroom for the first time last year myself, even built a small custom walk in shower with niches and a bench. But it took a year of research before I even bought the first tool for the job.
I’m really unsure why people don’t take the necessary time to learn before they do something as long lasting as this 😂 They really are their own worst enemies 😂

You sound like me, and also like you are a Gemini or have Gemini rising because G like to learn everything, attend classes and do it right ... and usually it comes out looking professional. I tiled my whole front lanai with random tiles that I made a mosaic with, and did lots of home repairs including my washing machine. I think its so wonderful that people who have a natural desire to teach offer it on you tube. I know they get some $$$ but often you can tell that they are masterful at teaching. I think Brad Mondo is a very helpful teacher, but the theatrics get to be a tiring drain. But still cute, but not if I am looking for info for a project, I am hungry for the tell me/show me/help me out, not entertainment. Hair Buddha doesn't torture us with distracting music that competes with the instruct, corny jokes or trying to be a cutesy pie like so many do. It gets old.

That was an amazing demonstration of what people should be doing if they are going to try this at home. I have been cutting and coloring my hair since i was young by myself and i cut my kids hair only because i was taught my my step mom who is a hairdresser. My son hair grows in several different directions and everytime i have taken him to a salon they have butchered his hair. But cutting hair is definitely not for everyone and you have to have alot of practice.

It's literally her own hair and she did it during a pandemic where a lot of people are reluctant going to salons and/or wouldn't want to endanger anyone. She never even talked shit about professionals. So if anyone is being embarrassing and disrespectful it's you.
Sure this is frustrating to watch for some people, but plenty of people have done similar things (especially in lockdown) so you're weird af for denying that this is relateable, like do you have a personal problem with the girl, does she remind you of someone who bullied you, or what? Do you actually believe this bad haircut video will put hairdressers and hairstylists out of business, because that's the only way this video would have been disrespectful to the professionals lmfao.

I have done the ponytail cut before, 🙈🙉🙊 but only to remove length. And even then, I positioned the ponytail about 2 inches lower to allow myself some wiggle room. (Meaning, I wanted to cut about 6 inches, but I cut about 4 inches in the ponytail). After that, I began sectioning my hair to give it shape and layers. My hair is curly, so it's a little more forgiving than straight hair. However my execution of adding layers was subpar. I have layers from my temples up to my part, where I sectioned, but none from the temples down which is weighing down my hair. Tomorrow is a wash day, so I plan on correcting it. I have found during COVID that cutting my hair has been a positive experience for self care. I guess it helps that I watch you and others for tips before I just go crazy with the scissors. And I appreciate the advice that you and others are giving to those of us who are still a little reluctant to jaunt out into a salon. ❤💇🏻‍♀️

Who knew at 28 I needed to know how to brush hair. I already knew about starting at the tip, but not sectioning.

Happy new year! I don't know why but I have brushed my hair starting from tips from childhood. I just came up to the conclusion myself that it was a lot easier to get the knots off and more gentle to my hair and scalp. When a hairdresser some years ago brushed my hair really violently from up towards the tips, I said that I start from tips. She said that it makes no difference if one uses some conditioner spray. I definitely disagree, because one doesn't need that extra product if one starts from tips. I did the Brad Mondo DIY hair cut with four sections(don't do only two) and it ended up being OK as long as you leave some room for evening out the hair. Never cut it as short as you seemingly want it to be with the first cut because it usually need some trimming. My hair is very long so I had big problems to stretch my hand far enough to get that kind of section ponytail in BM's video. So I couldn't cut it holding it in the air and that makes the hair go uneven. But I knew it so I only cut the bigger lengths that way, then took the ponytails off and finished it in sectioned layers. For me the most difficult part is actually not my back hair but front. I don't know how I want it. I'm too careful layering it myself so then one cant even see that it's layered. I don't want bobs though.

3:05 is literally how I brush my hair after washing it as my hair is the most knotty when it’s wet and it’s wayyy less painful and easier than starting at the top
