I spent my teens and twenties at McLean Creek in an '84 Toyota SR5 truck and an '77 CJ7. I am driving an '07 FJ now and I would like to get back to those trails because I feel like the FJ is a way more competent machine. I appreciate you posting this video and taking me on a trip down memory lane.
Such a fun trail. Though typically we do it in reverse of what you did, and climb up that steep rock step (in the dry on 35's).glad you enjoyed our trails!
That's awesome that you were at McLean creek. The tallest point that you were on is called "top of the world" and my friends literally got married right where you were earlier this year.
That was a really good video thoroughly enjoyed it but you were in a thunderstorm and a FJ and you didn't give us the three wiper shot keep them coming buddy
@@stokedtour According to FJ Cruiser's chief production engineer (Akio Nishimura) driving style, he keeps A-Trac engaged while offroading. I saw this in a youtube video where he was driving in New Zealand. I started following that style and it turned out to be better, as a prevention measure from getting stuck in the first place.
I absolutely love my 07 Fj and I’ve done a trail similar to this one in the video. I do recommend to not going wheeling by yourself and have a another vehicle with you when wheeling
You 2 are Super 'BRAVE'!!..the FJ is AMAZING!!.( My Stealth CIVIC...would be 'Swallowed UP' in 5 seconds!! )..Are you Guy's in B.C. or San Francisco?..LOL!!! ...'Reversing' is the WORSE!!...The Expression on your Face Stoked is PRICELESS!..THAT Was An ADVENTURE & a HALF!!!!..Great 'SPOTTER'!!...SAFE Travels Boy's! Cheers Stealth CIVIC!!
Just found your channel this week and have been on a binge ever since. I have an ‘07, what kind of lift do you have. I’ve watched your mod videos and may have missed it. Love the channel!!
Haha thanks! I'm glad you enjoy the stuff. I've got a 1.5" lift in the front and about 2.5" in the back. It's an OME kit that's supposed to be 2.5" front and back, but the bumper and winch brought the front down to the current numbers
Beauty man! Think about how much weight you’ll be adding to the front and back and that will help you select the proper stiffness of your springs to sustain a lift 🤙🏼 Don’t end up like me lol
We us Backroads Mapbooks here in Canada! They have so many of the forest service roads that you can just go and poke around in and discover amazing things. Thats how we find all ours :)
Hey, great watching content. I'm curious what the fuel consumption is like when doing the offroad parts of the trip? Also do you bring a jerry of fuel? Cheers
Thanks! Always a good idea to bring one with you just in case. Having said that, I haven’t had to use one yet since the sections I’ve been to are short and I make sure I fill up before getting into them. The fuel consumption for me is a bit higher if you’re not doing huge altitude changes. If you are, then I’d say you’re going about 1.5 to 2x fuel consumption
Spinning wheels like that... I hope you brought a replacement front axel and know how to change one. You might also want to carry a replacement inner and outer tie rod.
Good LORD! That was some sketchy… insane… balls-to-the-wall inclinometer action adventure!! Brought to you by dry-crushed noodles in a bag which I thought only 12 yr old East Asian children consumed lol!
Hi Do you need some great lighting upgrade for free for your car to help you better driving, off-road and adventure. We're the pro auto lighting manufacturer for nearly 20 yrs and w're looking for sponsorship!
Came for road trip tips, stayed for offroading. All of a sudden I want an FJ now haha.
That is a good result haha
Man. Get an fj is probably the last car you’ve buy.
Fell inlove with the FJ❤ all I can say get a FJ 👍🏼👍🏼
Fj are best. Do it
One of the better off road videos with an fj. No music, just 2 best friends that anyone can have...
Great scenery. Good job and thanks for posting!
Haha glad you enjoyed it!

That's so awesome! See ya around some day 👍
Right rig.
Right tire.
Right attitude.
Nice!
I just bought an fj and that looked like the funnist thing I've seen I can't wait to go overlanding and trail riding ! Very inspiring!
Welcome to the fam! And enjoy the machine :)
@@stokedtour Thank you I appreciate that!
Dude I love your content, super entertaining! Love that your in an FJ 🙌. Mines going strong after 11 years.
Thanks!
Awesome trip! FJ owner here and I too cook ramen the same way!
Sadly I've never eaten ramen this way 😬
@@stokedtour ahh you should try, but don't do it too often or you'll get a tummy like me haha
Such a fun trail. Though typically we do it in reverse of what you did, and climb up that steep rock step (in the dry on 35's).glad you enjoyed our trails!
wow, you guys are real brave . but my suggestion is to kindly include more of how you stay at night, camping, preparing food, etc
I started watching because I drive an Aussie FJ . . . . Stayed for the excellent content, great personalities and absolutely stunning cinematography
Really appreciate that! So glad you enjoyed it 🙏
Fj's are so capable. The Fj will get you there and back home again. Great video guys.
Excellent 4X4 driving, good to have a co-pilot to check things out 👍
It's like the rally racing setup!
Came for the FJ , as I am also FJ owner, stayed for the excellent video, 👌, now it's subscribe time 🙂
Awesome vid. I'm looking at FJ's and learning from you.
that looks like so much fun
It was oodles and oodles of fun
This vid get better and better, nice 👍

Amazing views and scenery! Overlanding is so worth bro!
Great videos. Your videos are inspiring my wife to upgrade her Fj. Would love to see one that goes over your suspension, tires etc
That was a really good video thoroughly enjoyed it but you were in a thunderstorm and a FJ and you didn't give us the three wiper shot keep them coming buddy
Damn, I'm glad I got one.
Wow this was amazing, thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it!
I think Sasquatch was laughing at your narrow tires! lol
Great video guys…
👍
bahaha thanks!
Which gear you have used mostly? Low second? Did you engage A-trac? thanks great video!
Mostly low second! I only use A-trac when I hit some hard features

It was the most exciting episode I've ever watched.😍👌
I need a FJ to drive gnarly roads just to find gnarly single tracks to ride down
best machine to handle this terrain 👌

Samson, you're loco, but in a good way haha. Getting my Baroud this week (at last) - thanks for all your help.
Hahaha this made me laugh. Don’t worry, I always take loco in a good way lol. Happy you’ll be with your new tent soon! Glad I could help
9:06 money shot 💪
nice day out eh buys? great vid!
Oh yahhh fer sure bud!
FULL beast mode for the FJ in this one!
Looked like FUN!
Better a thunderstorm than forest fire! Stay safe out there.
haha thanks my guy!
WOW 🤩😱😱👍😱.good driving skills 👏👏👏
Put it in beast mode and do it:)

@@stokedtour Famous Stoked FACE!! Most Excellent!! Cheers Stealth Civic!
Well done effort!
Some crazy rain there almost would have been worth crashing in the vehicle till the rain let up.
Yeah imagine if the rain washed parts of the trail away! That would have been wild to post-up
I am thinking that Fj was built to drive that terrain. You have a spotter, should have gone for it!
So true. Next time!

@@stokedtour For sure. And I wouldn’t take it so hard on yourself. You honestly have a great looking build 👍
Awesome video, wish I had an fj instead of my sequoia
Thanks man! Honestly any Toyota is a capable machine IMO
So hairy! Love it
What type of map do you use to find off roading trails? asking as a beginner I have no clue lol

Take your tent off the top so your not so tipsy next time unless your doing an overnight of course. Just saying. Good video.
Yeah would totally lower the centre of mass 👍 I was just too lazy haha
@@stokedtour yeah it’s a pain I hear. I’m with ya on that.
I have an FJ for sale! Gorgeous rig, in great shape, under 80k miles!

Ok Now I want an FJ !!!
👍 for the video. Where did you get your front bumper?
The front bumper is by Coastal Offroad!
Spinning wheels like that... I hope you brought a replacement front axel and know how to change one. You might also want to carry a replacement inner and outer tie rod.
You're right I need to buy spare CV's and potentially tie rods!

Are u locked front and rear?
Only have a rear locker! Soon will probably look into a front locker as well

It was one of the AB rec sites
Eating uncooked ramen (pasta) can mess you up lol

Just do it! 12:21
Literally any suv or truck cna do what u drove... thats still dirt on road.
