How to: BMW e39 M5 Rear Subframe removal and the installation of all new Poly bushings. And some FUN

  • Lets remove the subframe, remove all of the old, cracking rubber bushings for the subframe mount and differential mount. I cleaned it up to make it pretty and then installed new polyurethane and solid mount bushings everywhere.
    The CV Axle removal and rebuild was done in the previous episode and the differential removal and rebuild is done in the next episode. Removing the control arms and wheel carriers is pretty self-explanatory, but if you have questions about any of this, PLEASE, reach out. I'm happy to help.

    How are those yellows? I'm Interested in doing the same. Also are the black diff bushing too harsh?

      I wanted to retain some level of daily driving comfort, so this was my one attempt at doing so. I made the assumption that the black bushing (along with all of my other black and solid bushings) would make the ride more harsh than I wanted.
