  • Almost 19.000 km over 42 riding days. We ticked off the iconic Great Central Road, also known as The longest Australian’s shortcut. As we normally do, we take long way around, never strait to the target. We were riding in four states and one territory through the outback, in four different time zones.
Riding to North Queensland, then Northern Territory, down to Uluru, did The Great Central Road, western coast and finally home through Nullarbor.
The main goal was to tick off The Great Central Road.
Fully loaded left the Gold Coast on 18th of July and came back on 09th of September 2024.
My new BMW R1300GS was on endurance test. On some points had failed but overall performed well.
We saw so many amazing places, met a lot of interesting people from all walk of life.

Great video, it brings back memories of the time when I was a govt employee travelling between Laverton and Warakurna. Remote country, but very beautiful. Stay upright and be safe

Thank you. That is certainly true, remote and so beautiful. That was long stretch to work 🙂
      We love that red country.

Most amazing that you can encounter Bulldust on the Great Central Road ! I usually try to avoid it on most TV channels , radio stations and newspapers . Hard work .

Thank you! We are glad you enjoyed the video.
All those are Australian icons. Most of adventure riders want to tick them off. It’s good to have big bucket list 🤣

Done the GCR many times on my bikes. Love the isolation, scenery. Two negatives, this road will become all black top road, understandably as we need access across the centre And my biggest peeve, PERMITS to cross our country. Other than that, a great ride.

We did it for the first time, absolutely loved it. Flowers! Magic! Couldn't agree more about permit. And it's getting worse by the days. Giving land away and then banning access to mountains, parks, beaches...disgrace.
