On two wheels
Australia
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 6 ก.ย. 2022
Welcome to our channel - On two wheels. We are all about motorcycles, adventure and touring and push biking. We do long motorbike trips in Australia, recently most with adventure bikes, BMW R1250 GS. Beside GS we also have two KTM's 890 Adventure R. We used to ride Harley Davidsons, CVO Ultra Limited and Street Glide but when we discovered unlimited opportunities offered by adventure rides, we got converted. Harleys were sold in November 2022.
Since May 2024 I'm proud owner of new BMW R1300GS.
We love to explore Australian Outback. We are new in adventure bikes so we learned a lot on different TH-cam channels so we decided to share our trips with other riders to give back some information.

The Great Central Road - Ep. 05 Forsayth - Karumba - Burketown
Almost 19.000 km over 42 riding days. We ticked off the iconic Great Central Road, also known as The longest Australian’s shortcut. As we normally do, we take long way around, never strait to the target. We were riding in four states and one territory through the outback, in four different time zones.
Riding to North Queensland, then Northern Territory, down to Uluru, did The Great Central Road, western coast and finally home through Nullarbor.
The main goal was to tick off The Great Central Road.
Fully loaded left the Gold Coast on 18th of July and came back on 09th of September 2024.
My new BMW R1300GS was on endurance test. On some points had failed but overall performed well.

Road is completely sealed and can be easy done as one day trip. There are good walking tracks in the park, plenty of water crossings, a few beautiful picnic spots and more.

We’ve done nice trip to Queensland Outback. When we think ‘outback’, the iconic image is the red sand of Australia’s desert country and blue skies. Trip to “nowhere” need a whole lot of research, planning and preparation, including some basic tools, spare tubes, satellite phone, emergency food and water, tent, sleeping bag (even though we normally don’t camp… just in case) and on motorbike is n...

Now l finally saw birth place of my husband. Bowen. Thank you for showing it to me, he never took me there 😂
Vast country with such a little population.😅 Nice ride.❤
Not surprisingly , Daniel the old Africa hand could not skip the Lions Den Hotel. Amazing ride in an amazing landscape.
Very true, homesickness 🤣
Trip of a lifetime ! Tar and dust .
Amazing trip !
Do u have a GPX file by chance ?
I will put .gpx files into web page transaustraliatrail.com.au, you should find them under my name Tina R.
On a bike, no thanks!
42 different beds - yet one saddle !
Yes, WH. One saddle and no so comfortable as on1250 GS.
Great Stuff. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! Just came home from epic trip, The Great Central Rd., 19.000 km. Will be busy next few weeks.
Loved the video guys! Subscribed 🙂
Thank you 😎. Very appreciated.
Arthur river looks a lot like the scenery around King Island and as remote too.
Haven’t been in King Island yet.
I think you summed it well at 4:40. The view is stunning and scary at the same time. I'm curious how you go riding in the fog. Do you have the visor up the whole time?
Not very nice in the fog, just take it easy. Positive side of the fog (and early ride) are empty roads. I have my visor up on the Hwy and when is raining, but in general somewhere in the middle. I preferer to look above the visor.
Great video! I look forward to downloading the gpx files to get some ideas on a trip to Tasmania. thanks for posting.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for your comment. Enjoy Tassie, wonderful part of Australia.
Hi there, its a great achievement. I have a similar bike like yours (1250gsa), any advice or precautions for taking such a long ride? By the way I am fm Sydney. Thank you
Hi, thank you for your comment. That trip was our first long trip on adventure bikes, we were newbies on that kind of riding, our very first adventure bikes (before we had Harleys). We took some beginners off road training, watched plenty of TH-cam videos... planned our trip and the rest is history. 😊 I must admit I was nervous but at the end all went very well and we become addicted. Some basic tips: good planning and navigation, be fit, take enough water and some emergency food, tools, tyre repair kit (I had a puncture on the way to Cape York), we normally take tent and sleeping bag (so far we used it ones in Cape York), also plan some rest days, maybe new tyre needed / service. If you are not new on adventure bike, you probably already know all this 😊. Enjoy you trip and let me know how it went. Regards from the Gold Coast.
@ontwowheels399 Thank you very much for the detail reply and really looking forward to take my mrs 2 up.... Thanks again.... we may meet up somewhere on the road side.
@@osman7772 Yes, you never know 😂😂 We are planning a big trip in July/August: Gold Coast to Darwin, Gibb River Rd., Perth, Great Central Rd. - Uluru...if all goes well.
Nicely done video 👍. Not sure when you went through but in early February 2024, the NSW side was badly potholed in lots of places and badly needed attention. As long as you were careful, it was still a nice ride. Thank you for posting this.
Thank you for the comment. We did this ride on the first of February, 2024. Yes, I must admit there are some potholes on the NSW side, but in general not bad road and scenery is just amazing. 🤣
Cheers from WA State. No, not West Aus. ;- ),
Regards from South Africa-at the moment. 🤣 I’m glad to have the viewers in the USA as well. Cheers.
Kje ste se spet potepali?😊
One day trip, in the most beautiful area around the Gold Coast. 😂
The Two Wheel lions riding on the Lions Road. Wall to wall green and lush. Beautiful ride !
😂. Like your comment. (One lion without mane)😂😂
Mate one of my favourite places in the world nice riding cheers
Tasmania is really riding Mecca, beautiful scenery and almost empty roads. Cheers.
Joj, kej so lepi!❤
Vidis, kaj zamujas!?
Awesome track. I rode from Stanley to Strahan via this road in November last year.
Yes, it is awesome. And empty, almost no traffic!
Nice video, some friends and I did the Explorer around 2013, from north to south, I still have a burning desire to do it from the south to the north. We did a detour that took us out to where the crayfish boats were in dry dock, i can't recall the name of the location, from memory around half way, the road out was a bit sandy in places. Enjoy your future adventures
Thank you. We like Tasmania very much! Such a beautiful scenery, nice roads and not crowded at all. If you have a chance, go for it, you won't regret! 😊
Hell - sabotage ! Somebody tarred some roads !
😂😂 don't worry, Daniel always founds plenty of gravel roads.
Nice trip and beautiful music
😊thank you.
Great video Guys Lovin the toe tappin music Yeee Ha !!
Thanks. Always nice to get feedback. Glad you enjoyed.
@@ontwowheels399 I am planning a trip with my mate on our Africa Twins from Adelaide up to the Finders to Innaminka, across to Emerald and up to Cairns. The return from Cairns via Mt Isa city down to Birdsville and then home I liked you videos because it showed some of the country we going through and also. we are in our late 60s so dont want to tackle any crazy stuff We have been to the Finders Ranges on trips before and keep the AT's on Gravel, Dirt roads and Bitumen . Looking forward to going in August when its cool and not so many flies
Thank you again. We are also not spring chicken, haha, so not very much into rock'n roll. Daniel is turning 70 soon, and I'm at late 50's. I'd say we are still newbies on adventure bikes (two years), we used to have Harleys but became 100% converted to adventure. We love Australian Outback. In July and August 2022 we did epic trip to the Cape York, went down through Centre to Adelaide, Flinders Ranges, Birdsville Track...back home. I made three parts video of our trip. Looking back, videos are not very good as they were my first ever made. Maybe you'll find something interesting if you want to watch. Wishing you good trip and stay up right. 😂
looks great mate. Have you got any of the gpx or google tracks?
Thanks mate. Just uploaded tracks into web page: transaustraliatrail.com.au/tracks/mapview#content You can find and download: Walcha Adv Rally 2023 Day 01 and Walcha Adv Rally 2023 Day 02.
new here and subbed
Thank you. Hope you enjoyed.
A fantastic video and soundtrack Tina and Daniel !
Thank you very much. Nice scenery=nice video 😂.
No road of sand around that Daniel & Tina have not found .
Not quite, but we are working on that. 😂
Do you ever give your motorbike a rest? Great video as always.😊
Thank you. 😊 If somebody needs the rest, that's me, not motorbike. 😂
Ask your husband to give you a break 😁@@ontwowheels399
Your ride is on my list for next year. cheers for the tour
I'm sure, You'll enjoy. 👍
How many kms do you get out of a tank fully loaded?
Safe 380 kms with no head wind. Maybe could get slightly over 400 but don't want to take a chance. We prefer to top up in Outback where ever is opportunity just in case we need to turn back for what ever reason.
Nice one mate, bloody love the Flinders!
Thank you! The Flinders, one of our favourite places in Australia.
SA Outback 👍🍺
Amazing place. ❤️it!
Jao, dobra sta, Tina, da se vam da prebijati skozi ta, res, ‘plenty of nothing’……👍😉
Vcasih moras biti malo odstekan, 😂
couldn't watch sub titles to anonymous to bad like the road trip vids
Sorry for that.
Great ride❤. You probably need a good preparation for such a complex trip. Is there anything you don’t need to consider before the trip like this?!😂
Thank you. Yes, it takes a bit of preparation such as planning a route, checking for fuel stations... On the trip like this we take also tent and sleeping bags just in case of emergency or if we don't get accommodation, some dehydrated and canned food, water, basic tool, tubes...very limited with space for other stuff. We have a list of items to take with so just thick them off while packing so we don't forget something. No luxury on motorbikes. 😊
I didn't see a trailer. Where do you put all the above mentioned staff?
I do sacrifice my makeup. 😂
Epic ride guys. Spectacular coming into Wilpena from Arkaroola side.
It is spectacular. Love Flinders Ranges.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Very inspiring journey
Thank you. We enjoyed very much.
My heart goes out to the air filters of your bikes ...amazing the Big Nothing of the outbacks.
🤣they are tough bikes, originated from your country.
Great Video, Australia really is a beautiful place
Thank you. We love Australia, specially Outback, that's just so much different and still so much to explore.
Nicely done. Some excellent videography. If I ever go 'home' - back to Tassie, I hope to ride the same track. Thanks for sharing
Thank you. Yes, Tassie is great for motorbike riding, food, friendly people...just excellent.
This is a dream one day i will fulfill.. Thanks for sharing
Really nice part of Australian Outback. Must go if you like remote places and friendly people.
Nice!!
Thank you. Love Australian Outback.
Nice!
Thank you. Appreciated.
Nice ride in the middle of nowhere. How do you navigate or there is just one direction?😂
If you get lost, all you need is fuel to get back on the track.
Mad outback wanderers. Goodonya!
Agree, you really need to be a little bit mad, ha ha.
I've ridden a bit of that country ,love the wide open outback. Thanks for sharing, an enjoyable watch . If you'd like to see another great bike traveller ,check out "Roam by Joe Ryan "
Thank you for positive comments. Yes, we are following Joe Ryan on Himalayan, great photography! Yes, Australian Outback is simply impressive. You just can't get fed up with open vast area. We are lucky living in Oz.
You sure like sand roads. Your videos are just great . Wall to wall adventure !
Yes, Daniel likes deep sand and me water crossings, ha ha.
