We were very lucky. I have never seen so many wild flowers, actually carpet of flowers. The best was on the west coast of WA. So beautiful!

Flowers versus dust - dust seems to be winning .

I am wondering how dirty you end up after a day ride in this red wildness.😂

How did you find the Missions on those roads? What was the 1250 running?

The main goal was The Great Central Road. To this plan we needed to add service in Darwin, then husband wanted to do The Hell's Gate so we were just adding and adding more places... When you are already planning to go to WA, you just want to see as many places as possible... We watched some TH-cam channels to learn...
BMW 1250 was excellent, no issue at all. The only problem was heavy load & heavy bike (GSA). My 1300 had some drama with starter, cruise control, loosing bits and pieces.
      What are you riding?

@@ontwowheels399 R1250GS Rallye. Heading across to Perth (from Tas) in March. Planning to ride the Oodnadatta Track next August. My question was how did you like the Trailmax Missions on the Great Central :)

🤣sorry, miss understood. We have on all our bikes Mitas Dakar, very happy, not so great on wet sealed road. I have Dunlop, only front one, for the first time. It was fitted in Darwin at 11,000km, now have 32,000 and it’s due to be replaced by next service. It was very good on road and gravel, not too noisy and lasted more than 20,000 km. I haven’t done rock’n roll stuff as I’m not experienced rider 🤣. I would buy it again.
Tasmania is beautiful. Enjoy your trip and stay upright.

@@gnmurray5955. It was easy to misunderstand your post as you failed to proof read before posting and didn't notice that you missed out a word. 🙂

@ no I didn't. Most adventure motorcyclists will recognise Missions as referring to Trailmax Missions. And one of the two bikes in the video was an R1250 GSA.....

Two things stick in my mind re Tjukayirla R/H, from a few years back; 1, The stunned look on the face of the manager when we said we wanted to stay 2 nights (The comment; "You want TWO nights ?, no-one stays two nights" !!)and 2, the massive breakfast we had there. If passing thru seriously consider taking the time to side track to Empress Springs (about 60 km north), and the breakaway country on the way back to the roadhouse.

We were in Tjukayirla on Sunday, when they close at 3 pm. We pre-ordered our two dinners and when we came to the R/H we wonted to buy a lunch. They said we don't need as our ordered dinners were in the room. That was really the huge meal. We shared one meal for lunch and the other one for dinner. Really, big portions and delicious. Manager super friendly! We all should support small business like that one.
Thank you for your tip. Maybe we'll do this Springs next time. 😂
