TV2 Danmark seems like the antithesis to Fox in North America. I wish our local Cable company would replace all Fox & their propaganda fomenting hatred of the “other” with Danmark’s TV2 with its inclusiveness message for all.
A bit late here, the owner of TV2 News 24/7 is the Danish Ministry of Culture as a second choice for public service television besides DR1 (the equivalent to the English BBC1), but they are not politically involved in the editorial choice or content in any way. DR1 is funded through income taxes, while TV2 is partly funded by commercial breaks and subscriptions to some of it's content and is available in Norway, Sweden and Northern Germany through subscription pay-TV Politically speaking DR1 is slightly to the left and do not provide a 24/7 news channel, while TV2 is slightly right leaning, so they also have a 30 minute business news segment, a 30 minute political debate panel segment, and every Tuesday at 11.30am, the Danish PM holds a 30 minute transmitted weekly news conference, with a following 30 minute analysis segment. Every day in the evening there is a 30 minute in-depth news segment with two journalists and 4 invited guests debating and asking questions, doing interviews and analysis on the day's top news stories. But it's nothing like FOX or the left leaning news channels in the USA, that seem to be very politically propaganda driven infotainment rather than analytic, informative and real news in a more "old school" way of doing real journalism.
