      Helveteshit Very literally "trin" in danish is "step", but trin such as a step in a staircase.

    • @danielkarlsson258
      @danielkarlsson258 5 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      In Swedish it has been called "styvföräldrar". "Bonus parents" is kind of new-ish, but is now accepted, which I think is good. Also a famous tv series in Sweden called "Bonusfamiljen" - "Bonus family".

Be very careful what you wish for my troubled friend, words are more powerful than you think (spoken and written) the world is a wonderful place full of wonderful people. Use the New Year to give life a chance for yourself, nobody is getting wipped anything. Life will continue to go and flow long after you're gone. What an amazing video. As an American living in Denmark, this video reflects the Danish spirit and sensibility which I consider a resource for the rest of the world. Everyone has a strength and Denmark's sense of community (even though most Danes deny they have it--after all "fish are the last to recognise water") is tangible. This video and the spirit, insight and willingness to put it out there makes me proud to be living here! Thank you TV2.

      It is strangely enough always people who've never been a place, or met the people they hate, that think there is an issue. There is a reason Copenhagen is both the most accepting place in Denmark and the most culturally diverse. Because they've actually met the people, and been the places, that is being talked about.

    • @alexanderhessellunddinesen3108
      @alexanderhessellunddinesen3108 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think what David Reis says is very recognizable in Copenhagen with the Danish spirit. But you're most definitively not the most diverse, whereas i'd find that much more applicable to Aarhus.
      You've a lot more people yes, but that doesn't equate to the diversity you're speaking of specifically.

    Why are so many uncomfortable with the public display of compassion?

    • @AsbjornJonasson
      @AsbjornJonasson 7 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      It seems that the juxtapose this with their notion of people threatening society and those who are tolerant allowing in to happen. Thus, the fact that this video promotes tolerance and togetherness, values that only lead to better lives of all people, becomes a negative. Likely, most of those who comment are American, since the unhealthy political climate in the United States has turned everyone very black and white over there.

    • @AsbjornJonasson
      @AsbjornJonasson 7 ปีที่แล้ว +42

      Mr. Anderson, I'm not sure what you mean about it not being genuine. If you mean that the people in the video are actors, I highly doubt it. If they were, it wouldn't change the reality of the video, and the point would remain the same.
      So, it's confusing what exactly you think it being portrayed in a false light by this video.

      it all comes down to free will, but the thing is your free will is highly influenced by your sorroundings..if you judge by actions rather than looks youre doing the same thing. Since you are not capable of murder, you dont have those thoughts coming throught your mind a "sick" person does

      Which makes it really unfortunate that immigrants feels increasing less Danish due to the public debate. My only hope is that we have reached the button and the debate will move in much more constructive direction.

    • @MrMudbill
      @MrMudbill 7 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Sure sounds like you just gave up generations of your family's earned respect and honor easily.
      Let's say I had never been in Denmark. Would you consider me just as Danish as yourself just because "I feel like it"? Would you _really_ put me on an equal scale to yourself? No.
      People are different, and I think it's more important to realize and promote the differences rather than trying to pretend we're all the same, because fact is no one is the same. Be proud of who you are.

We then grow up and want to be appreciated and understood, but seldom are so we protect ourselves as a defense mechanism. We all develop some kind of complex or try to compensate for lack of confidence in one way or another. The film showed us how much more we are alike than not. Go deeper than personality differences. Through many travels and exposures to other peoples and other cultures I learned that as human beings, we have much more in common than we have differences. We all love and care about someone. We have mothers, fathers, family or close friends that we care about. We want to succeed. We want to make a difference. We are basically the same inside. This is beautiful.

    We urgently need an ethic of cooperation - both within a nation and between nations. An ethic of peaceful coexistence where we (before all judgment) can take ourselves off from the biased views and see the good of each person and the points we have in common.
    We have a common wound and it is to be human beings. We all suffer for something.

    This video made me bawl my eyes out. I'm really happy I watched this especially during a time like this where we're basically being encouraged to put people in boxes and to stay in ours. Diversity is one of the most beautiful things in this world. It's not right to judge anyone based on arbitrary differences. It's so easy to like..not be a dick.

    Thank you for bringing a needed smile to my face. The present threats to civility, freedom, opportunity, and equality in the U.S. will hurt us all - including those who fuel themselves with a hatred of others.

    2:25 Made me think of something that's always on my mind.
    I hate when people say that there's no such thing as bisexualtiy. People already find it sinful and terrible to be gay, yet when they hear bi they laugh as if thinking that there's no possibility to be attracted to both genders. Is it so unimaginable to like more than one gender?
    Just something I wanted to get off my chest. Great video :D

      Bisexuals are such attention whores..we don't give a fuck about your sexual preferences..you are so boring..always with this forced pretentious need to "show how corageous you are"...WOW YOU ARE SO SPECIAL!

      Revoremus, While I obviously agree that it's ridiculous I think there's a couple of obvious reasons for that view. One is that a lot of people just seem to use "I'm bisexual" as a "middle ground" when coming out as gay, probably because they think it'll be easier on the parents, friends etc. The other is that bisexuality (Or claiming it anyway) basically became a fad about 10 years ago or whatever. Most of them would never be with anyone of their own gender at all but they still claimed to be bisexual because that sent the message that they were "hip", tolerant, open-minded etc.
      Obviously neither of those things change the fact that bisexuality is real though so it's sort of a shame for actual bisexuals I think. Obviously it's possible to be attracted to both genders, why wouldn't it be?

    A warm one because of how beautiful the message is followed by a cold one because of how much more this message seems to be lost.

    • @kkeinicke
      @kkeinicke 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually it’s not ‘unrelated’. Tv2 is a public service tv station - meant to be relevant and shared by all Danes. So it’s actually wonderfully meaningful.

      @@kkeinicke Yeah, I mean it's not a huge evil corporation (So far as I'm aware) Just the Danish equivalent of the BBC - taxpayer funded cross platform media network...
      I just wish that the more grass roots, progressive, community owned movements and groups had the same kind of resources to get such high production value and reach on the stories that they want to tell
