    The elephants were owned by the circus and after the ban the state had to purchase them.

      @@orangedingo1619 Errr... This is a complicated question.
      As i see it, theres a big difference between an individual, and a very large group of people.
      A single person cannot affect any society greatly, neither culturally or economically. A single person can be nice or naughty, can contribute or vacuum to/from the society (and anything in between). A single person can be dealt with.
      A large group of people however has another effect. And true, i and many other native danes, have a concern for our old, fine danish culture, and for the economy aswell, as result of huge immigration.
      But this person, Indadeeq Mahmud, is grateful for what he has experienced in Denmark. I really appreciate to hear that! And why shouldnt i? Thats genuine and very nice of him to say that.

      @orangedingo1619 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hannehansen7214 well your words confirm my statement. I definitely understand concerns with huge immigration..there is always some logic behind it. While i totally understand them i do not necessarily agree with them, not from moralistic point of view. In a pragmatic world the concern is always about the who comes first.
      Mahmud is grateful as a person who got a chance which is pretty good and some how expected. It still does not change the fact the Denmark is one of the most if not the most anti-immigration country with strict sometime inhumane rules when it comes to foreigners and asylum seekers
      Sweden for me is a country that started to witness the effect of pragmatism and there is a growing feeling against immigrants. It is sad to see this spread everywhere around the world. I had little faith in humanity. In love. And it saddens me to see it diminish slowly.

      @@sohibmohamed9548 I can only speak of my home country and to some extent the rest of Europe and other countries I know well. And at least here, these people are the minority (which current statistics of Covid vaccinations and my own experience working sideline in the med field, where I'm confronted with this topic on a daily basis, show among other things). There is of course a difference between the hardcore anti-vaxers and those just skeptical or anxious about vaccines, which is much more prevalent (either way, talking to them made me realize the reasons for their opposition is almost exclusively misunderstanding and just poor knowledge of things behind it. I believe some of them that they try to read and get informed, but they are often bad at checking sources and distinguishing different qualities of info). Now, the paradoxical and frankly infuriating thing about the former group is that they actually tend to be relatively educated (and relatively rich and relatively female), which probably makes them even more staunch in their stupid beliefs. Often they follow some dogmatic spiritual ideology, and they don't understand and often don't care about medical statistics, chemistry etc. even though most of them would be dead without all that, and people die because of their ignorance. The mother of a friend is such a person, relatively educated and successful in life, but nothing less than an esoteric nutcase, who lives in a make-belief world in that regard. She's been to Africa several times and you need certain mandatory vaccinations, e.g. against yellow fever, which is a relatively harsh one... she didn't blink an eye, as it stood in her way of traveling and getting spiritually enriched there, but she prevented her child from getting any of the recommended vaccinations and is staunchly against Covid-vaccines. She's a fucking hypocrite and an idiot, despite her status. And her circle of like-minded friends is no different. These people are the reason why we still have to care about measles, which had been basically eradicated here decades ago, and no doubt it's getting worse. Still they are small, but they echo loudly though social media (which is why I prefer not to promote the topic even further myself) and catch a lot of the naiver share of the latter group nowadays.

    Here is something emailed to me yesterday. It is from a message board.
    "I work for a global tech company headquartered in the Netherlands. It hosted an international symposium in early 2020 attended by employees from around the world, including some from the United States. After a series of talks on the first day attendees dined together at the venue. It was a pleasant evening until people began discussing universal healthcare and someone asked the three Americans at our table what they thought of it being implemented in America. One gravely replied that Americans will never be forced to learn Chinese, and of course everyone laughed politely at his joke - until he snarled, "You think that's _funny?!_ “ before he and the other Americans got up and left. This was no welder from Idaho. He was a senior manager, and a graduate from a prestigious business school. What do they teach them there?"
