Not really. Many people buy something purely because of the name. Just like an LV handbag is not necessarily better than a normal handbag, but people still go for an LV. It's just the name. I think the BYD Seal is a much better car than Model 3, but people will still choose Model 3 anyway simply because it's a Tesla!

When you have vehicles coming into repair centres that are less than 6 months old and they are rusting behind hinges, in the seams and pillars you know there have been some serious cost cutting processes involved. compare to a 10 year plus euro which has no rust at all. Simply put they are built for different customers. Chinese trucks are exactly the same.
