@@bparker06 Seat massage is available in the Ultimate edition all the way through the end (2016), but yeah not in the Signature series. Too bad about the fridge being gone.
A few issues with this review. Doug didn't mention one of the biggest selling points of this car: the Lexicon sound system which is absolutely amazing. He also doesn't mention the air ride suspension which is why the ride is really sublime. Also, there's a reason you can get the newer ones for a great price. Hyundai started stripping all of the really nice extras out of these cars after 2013. 2011 to 2013 had the refrigerators, but Hyundai scrapped those from 2014 on. Also, you wouldn't want to go with a 2011 because the following year they upgraded the engine and transmission to much better models. If you're in the market for one of these, just do your research and figure out what's important to you. I've had mine for about a year and I love it, but there are quirks that make you shake your head like having Bluetooth calling, but not Bluetooth audio which means you have to use an aux cable.
Hyundai removed the fridge and the massage feature in 2014. I’m not aware of any other features they removed. Also, Bluetooth audio and dual dvd screens (among other things) were added in 2014.
@@Hardcorerado I was listing what they removed in 2014, I didn't say they gutted the whole car and the newer models were POS. I'm just saying that Hyundai stripped some of the features that made their car stand apart from the competition in 2014. I was commenting on the quirks of the model I have when I was talking about the Bluetooth audio. You would think a car built in 2011 that cost around 90k would have Bluetooth audio.
I bought the 2011 ultimate with less than 50k on it, only one of two in the U.S. I’m this condition on the market currently. Love it and everyone who gets in love it. I like to say it is 90-95% of similar Mercedes at a fraction of the purchase price, and another fraction of the maintenance price. Not worried about theft because there is no significant after market. Passengers are always impressed when they get in the vehicle, because the feel is way better than anybody ever expects.

Usually the manufacturer is trying to their best to make a quality product and the dealership is trying their best to get every dime out of your pocket. With VW both are trying to screw you, they're thinking about ripping you off from the engineering design studio to the parts and service department.
Audi is a cynical joke that does not properly engineer cars. It never earned the luxury designation. Around 2000 it was close. But then they got greedy and failed again.
The A8 has a luxury platform but never achieved a reputation for durability. The first A8 97-2001 was the best one. After that, no, I would argue they cost cut it! IMO Audi isn’t built as a luxury car. Just built to make profit. Just my opinion.
My LS400 is 23 yo now and everything...yes, all the accessories, warning lights, chimes, audio, etc. still work perfectly. Have replaced the usual wear items. @SH Kim
The Non ultimate model of this year also has a larger console. I have owned an Equus for 4 years and it has never broken

Shows how unprepared Doug is when making these videos. Too lazy to do his research...
Yeah and what he said made no sense
Yeah, I imagine the seat just uses weight to detect the presence of passengers like... almost every car does these days.
I wouldn’t say the 2011 to 2012 is enough to make it an absolute deal breaker with minor improvements on the air suspension and the 2012 actually more engine issues reported than the 2011

I bought a certified 2013 Equus Ultimate from a dealer in 2017 (with a 5 year Warranty). Amazing value. I like to say it is 90-95% of similar Mercedes at a fraction of the purchase price, and another fraction of the maintenance price. Also, because it is not universally recognized, there is a very positive stealth factor to Equus. I never get pulled over by the police. Not worried about theft because there is no significant after market. Passengers are always impressed when they get in the vehicle, because the feel is way better than anybody ever expects.
