Darkstalker Legends destroyed me. I knew the ending was coming, I knew what would happen, but that somehow didn't make it any easier. What Clearsight and Darkstalker could have had together was beautiful and that is why it hurt so much to see it fall apart. In the end, I'm glad Clearsight was able to move on and find a meaningful life in Pantala. She earned it.

DarkStalker was the first book I’ve read, and by far THE BEST. DarkStalker earned a spot as my favorite character because of his confusing character, he want so badly to be good and also to chase his dreams.
Darkstalker was very interesting to read, some very scary and shocking moments, and it shows Darkstalker's descent into madness, and he really loved his mother, his sister and Clearsight but he got blinded and got to a point where he couldn't see that what he was doing was wrong, like he altered his moral compass. The book also had the nice moments of him and other funny and memorable characters. I really liked Whiteout, she is peculiar in a good way, and she has a very curious way of expressing herself, like she always speaks in metaphor, she is my favorite character, from the book.

Wholeheartedly agreed. Legends: Darkstalker felt like a literary masterpiece, especially how it handled the timelines of Darkstlaker, Clearsight and Fathom. It also includes such deep emotional grit to crush and empower you soul, it's a rollercoaster of feelings. And arguably my favourite part about it is the fact that all the events of the book occurred 2000 years prior to the beginning of the Dragonet Prophecy Arc. Darkstalker: Legends gives great insight to Pyrrhia of the past, along with some major events that shaped the future of TWO continents.
Hopefully we'll get to see mor of this insight when the WoF Guidebook releases
I like it because you don't have to read it. That is what Dragonslayer got wrong. When you get to The Dangerous Gift, you kind of have to read Dragonslayer to understand the sudden appearance of a human who can talk Dragon. But Darkstalker: Legends is simply something you can read for more information.
Personally I think it's a necessary read, because of Whiteout.
I think you have to, because I saw someone once who has not read Darkstalker but started reading the lost continent. They were like: whaaaaa is there another book I have to read? Is this book twelve and I skipped book 11?

tbh i just read wings of fire. i don’t really get disappointed or angry or anything at the books. i just read, although one thing that makes me a little bit disappointed is vulture. HE TOTALLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN SHIPPED WITH VULTURES! TUI GOT THAT WRONG!!

Legends Darkstalker is a horrifyingly beautiful, nested layers of tragedies.
We start with one of the most wholesome prolouges in the series. But by chapter 1, its already falling apart.
On the surface though, everything seems to be OK. We see Darkstalker, Clearsight, and Fathom all just sharing what promises to be something beautiful. Its cute. For just a little while, I forgot what book I was reading and just enjoyed these wholesome moments.
But it couldn't last. Foeslayer's abduction made sure of that.
And from there, all we could do was watch, helpless to intervene, as everything spiraled in darkness.
What really sets the book apart is its a shining example of how to do a prequel. We got to stand alongside Clearsight and see all the possible futures for this beautiful world just as she does. Unlike her though, we knew the one inevitable path for the future, and had to watch her illusion of control dissolve in her talons. Together, we found there truly is a big difference between knowing what was to come, and actually experiencing it.
And what was to come was just tragic.
The prologue and ending are complete opposites, and I love it for that

YESS! Legends: Darkstalker is my 1# favorite book in the whole series, and my favorite character is in it. It's written so well and all the characters are great, and all three have good development (well, for the role they play)! Great video as usual, and have a great day!~

what i don't like is how fathom is treated like a sort-of bad guy. the present day dragons talk about fathom like a mean person who did a pathetic thing by breaking his oath to betray his friend. in darkness of dragons anemone talks about how it wasn't the nicest thing to do in the world. however if the had more context, the modern day dragons could realise that fathom already broke his oath to save his best friend who darkstalker LITERALLY turned into a wooden carving. darkstalker was about to enchant him too. fathom is just forgotten or hated. fathom had a happy ending but still ended up worse off than he was before.
When I read Darkstalker Legends I loved it. He became one of my favorite characters. I loved everyone's point of view and never went bored. This video sums up what I think of this book. I read arc 2 before Legends so that filled in a few gaps. I read Dragonslayer before I read The Hive Queen so by the time we got later in the series I was like "oh! Sky and Warn! I remember them" it was very cool.

I also read it after arc two, and also after books 11-14 (TFOH hadn’t come out yet.) I got Dragonslayer with The Poison Jungle I think, and I got TPJ after I got TDG. So I read TDG before Dragonslayer, if I remember correctly. I don’t know if I’m right or wrong (I think I’m right) so I agree

when i was 5 years old i had something a bit like this happen but in my story i was the darkstalker one of my freinds moved so he was the clearsight and the other helped so he was the fathom lol
To borrow a line from "Venture Brothers", "A man can do terrible things when he's lost his way. Terrible things." I just finished this book today and it was the gut-punch that I knew it would be. What hits home for me is that Darkstalker had a deep abiding love for his mother and his lover, but as he got more corrupted by his poor decisions, that love became more and more conditional. Remember, he seriously considered killing Clearsight towards the end of the book after it became clear she wasn't going to comply with him. That kind of toxicity is something I saw in a former room mate of mine. He claimed to love his girlfriend, but he only ever wanted to control her.
In spite of every terrible thing he did, I still felt sorry for him at the end. He had a little bit of good within him, but his rage and desire for power drove him into the pit. Darkstalker is a cautionary character. People see only what they want to see. In his case, that meant he only saw what HE wanted, which means he didn't see the damage he was causing to those he claimed to cherish. Be careful out there, people. Don't be your own worst enemy like our Dragon monster.
That’s a really smart way to put it! “His love for his mother and Clearsight became more and more conditional as he was corrupted.” It was really sad to read that become a reality by the end of Legends and in Arc 2 where it was so evident… Especially in book 10 where he tried to pick and choose elements of Clearsight to keep and remove when trying to bring her back. In my head I was screaming “you idiot, you loved her unconditionally for her whole self!!!” but you make me notice how that became less and less true as he was corrupted.
I haven’t read either of the legends book yet so I’ll save this XD
Darkstalker Legends was AMAZING. Although it really made me sad. I wish Darkstalker hadn't gone bad. But I suppose he is an amazing villain. He had really good intentions, really bad execution of his plans as you said.
I know if he hadn't gone bad, we wouldn't have the series we do today, but this book almost always ends up bringing me to tears with all of the things that happen. It's sad to see the potential for an awesome wholesome friend group to be gone.

Darkstalker reminds me of some bad friends i had in the past nice in the beginning but turn out to be bad people
I know Darkstalker, the character and the book, is overrated, but you have to agree Tui just put so much work into it and she wrote everything out so well. Starting the book, I knew I was going to like it. There hasn't been a single book that Tui wrote that absolutely broke me because of how bad it was. Sure, some books were a little uninteresting or disappointing (looking at you Flames of Hope and Dark Secret) but there are no books in WoF that I truly despise. That's why I love this book series.

Well, what if prophet NightWings had the silver scales on the underside of their wings shaped like crescent moons instead of stars, or some moons hidden amongst the 'star' scales? Like, since mind readers have special silver scales why can't prophets?

Darkstalker is by far my favorite book ever. I could rave about it for hours, but what had stuck with me the most is how Clearsight nearly lets herself be buried with him after giving him the bracelet. So so heartbreaking
I would love to see a prequel to the book (as a winglet) and see what could of happened

So when I first read it I was not actually into the series at this point. So I had absolutely no idea what the end was gonna happen. And then when I actually started reading it in order I saw darkstalker and was like "HEY ITS HIM"
Omg same, so the ending was completely unexpected, shocking, and all the more heartbreaking! I wasn’t expecting Darkstalker to appear in the series when I picked it up either, so I had the same “IT’S THAT GUY” moment 😂
What if winter was captured and hailstorm escaped
I finished Darkstalker yesterday, and wow that was a lot of emotions felt. It's my favorite book in the series for a lot of reasons, but the writing is just amazing. The ending broke me as well, even though I tried to prepare myself lol. It's just an amazing book with a strong emotinoal core.
4:21 one true love. In book 12 it’s stated (probably to avoid another glorybringer) that hivewings are not in red because Clearsight had many different partners and many dragonets with each.
This video is wonderful! You really got the characters down! But.. there is one gimmick about DarkStalker, that I think you didn't mention or notice. Personally, this is my opinion- not what I think you missed, is that DarkStalker was never really given the chance to be "Good". But I won't get into that- it's an off-topic rant that unless you are interested to hear it, I'm going to keep to myself (But it does tie in into what I'm going to say). With that little opinion out of the way, what I think you missed is that DarkStalker is the perfect example of life without consequence. Not only did he like getting what he wanted- he could just wave a hand and all the consequence would vanish. Which led him to doing more menacing things, because well, he can do whatever he wanted and not pay for it!

Dark stalker legends is phenomenal, but dragonslayer is a really good in my opinion. I don’t quite understand why it gets so much hate. It’s a genuinely good book at even on of my favourites out of all books.
Darkstalker legends was so helpful tbh, it was very good written, I’m not a big fan of Darkstalker himself but he was a very interesting pov to read from,!
My mom is FINALLY reading this book. She wanted me to convince her that fantasy books aren’t just fluff. So I gave her this one and said it’s the dragon equivalent of a Shakespearean tragedy and what not to do.
Idk why but as cool as the current Pantalan dragons being descended from Clearsight sounds, it also makes me feel weirded out how it could have happened. Had some awkward Adam and Eve vibes the more I thought about it.
The mind vision blocking earrings revelation made me go “omg” because it was a blessing and a curse; it blocks the negative futures, but also blocks the ones that are about to happen. I legit thought the glass necklace was from Thoughtful, but looking back at the scene, the stuff Whiteout said became more clear to me. I think Whiteout and Clearsight are my fave characters because I can relate to both of them.
Whiteout def predicted all that was going to happen I forget what page it was but before darkstalker made the hourglass whiteout said that he had no snow I didn't think much of it till I reached the part where darkstalker reveals that white means he is loosing his soul . Also in the part where artic gets stabbed in the foot and drops down whiteout gets freed and says sorry for winning. I think this is a reference to earlier when whiteout says something on the lines of only one of us will make it out alive (I don't remember the exact words but that's what she meant I think) idk this is just a theory and makes me think bout it
Truly, this book was the best legend ever. Though, I hoped Clearsight and Sunstreak's relationship was explored better. I want to see more of them and the lives of the BeetleWings at that time, I really hope Tui would write a legends book on the history of Pantala starting from Clearsight and the BeetleWings. By the way, my favourite ship is in this book and i love Fathom and Indigo
I also felt deeply bad for Whiteout she saw her father's death when her own brother killed him with animus magic now what kind of brother would do that to her sister having her to see that brutal death he did to their own father with magic I think during that time she didn't see him as her own brother put a a dark shadow creature a monster and not her own brother
