He claims that Fathom is too jittery and attempts to brainwash him so that he would be 'happy'. I could go on about everything he did, but the point is, no matter what his intentions were, Darkstalker did horrible things that cannot be excused
Darkstalker tried to kill the IceWings, and from what he talked about to Hope during their last conversation, he seemed as if he’d willingly attack and eliminate the SeaWings as well. “The SeaWings keep popping out of the ocean to fight, no matter how many times I think I’ve stamped them out.” This monster was planning to eliminate another tribe, all over a petty grudge and had he not been defeated, he may have succeeded. Only Turtle, Anemone, and the SeaWings at JMA, meaning the rest of the tribe could have been wiped out with magic.

Which, seeing as he got put to sleep by Fathom and Clearsight, he never had the chance to stop it himself, nor do I believe he would have. So, for a whole year, IceWings were just dying. And most likely not just the ones in the Sand Kingdom at the time, but that knife probably flew all the way to the Ice Kingdom. And, now that I'm thinking about it, their planet has three moons. So, everytime one of those moons was full, an IceWing died. Did two die on the nights that two of the moons were full? I'm pretty sure he also enchanted the dagger to leave spooky or threatening messages in blood, claiming Darkstalker was out to get them. So, even while he slept, IceWings believed he was stalking them and killing them. And there's no way I'd forget that IceWing-killing barrier he put up. Winter would have died, had he not been wearing an enchanted earring at the time he crossed it. I sure hope that all of Darkstalker's harmful spells were canceled out or removed when he was turned into Peacemaker. I still would like to know the EXACT wording of the spell they used. >_> As for him genuinely loving his family and friends, idk, some of them, maybe. But he was awful quick to think that "maybe there would be no queen on the throne beside him", the moment he realized Clearsight had taken his scroll. When you love someone, you don't cast spells on them without their knowledge or consent. You don't turn the love interest of your "best friend" into a wooden figure because you don't like said love interest and think your friend would be better off without them, or try to enchant your friend into not caring about them. Darkstalker loved, to an extent, but his love was very conditional (honestly, probably the only ones he seemed to love unconditionally were Foeslayer and Whiteout). And, I've got one more thing that Darkstalker did, that people never really seem to talk about. And it's pretty dark if you think about it. I'm talking about what he did to Fierceteeth. Now. I hate Fierceteeth. She's a little punk who thinks she's entitled to whatever she wants. I can barely get through her Winglet everytime I reread them. But even I don't condone Darkstalker trying to literally TURN HER INTO HIS DEAD GIRLFRIEND. Clearsight, at that point, is dead and gone. Has been for close to 2,000 years. And he just can't let her go. He turns this dragon into Clearsight, most assuredly without her knowledge or consent, and then tries to make her "turn out right". He tries to make her only see positive things, he doesn't like the result. He tries to make her without any foresight powers, he doesn't like the result. He makes her exactly as she was the last time they saw each other, and he can't handle it when she is HORRIFIED at all that he's done. He EXPERIMENTED on Fierceteeth. And, the worst part of it? What if he'd succeeded in "perfecting" Clearsight? Then, he'd, what? Marry her? When in reality, he'd be marrying Fierceteeth. Again, without her knowledge or consent. And then what? Have dragonets with her!? ALSO without her knowledge or consent!? There's a word for that, you know. >_> I don't like Fierceteeth. But I wouldn't wish that fate on anyone. I guess the point I'm trying to make is, Darkstalker is literal garbage, the absolute worst, and I am glad he's gone. Good freaking riddance. >_
And not to forget the part that everyone forgets most of the time, but he was going to do a bit more...experimenting. Remember in book nine when Darkstalker forced every animus to his room? He also said to both Anemone and Stonemover about how he's going to test his theories on animus magic, and use them for his own benefits. He wouldn't even stop at his own magic, as he probably would have used them some of the time. He would have allowed Anemone and Stonemover to go crazy (if the theory is true). In the scene where Stonemover was freaking out when Darkstalker healed him, Turtle immediately figured it was Darkstalker's doing. I think it was true, and he only told his plan later on.
With the whole Nightwing Border thing, he literally could just had it as "enchant the border of this Kingdom so that all of its enemies will be blocked by an invisible wall while those who are not enemies can pass through with no hinderance". See? No one needs to die and now it makes sure that all enemies of the Nightwing Kingdom can not pass through. However, as you said, he chose the option that made him feel satisifcation. Heck, if Clearsight didn't talk him out of it, he would have had all the Icewings die in one go. It's so strange because Icewings would not be the only enemies to the Nightwings, there would definitely be dragons from other tribes that would rat out the Nightwings or attack them if they saw benefits. It's one of many things that nail down the fact that Darkstalker is an evil dragon, that even when he was given a second chance chose to use it to cause harm to dragons because of a 2,000 year old feud.

While on the topic of Darkstalker, something I wanted to point out that has always bothered me: When Darkstalker and Queen Vigilance talk about killing all NightWings: Clearsight doesn't say to not do it, instead, she says to wait until Queen Diamond and Queen Snowfox die to do it. It's small, but I think about it sometimes

Darkstalker is such a complex character, but he IS undoubtedly evil. When he CAME OUT OF HIS EGG he was thinking evil stuff. The first time he manipulated and lied to Clearsight, I went "oh yeah this dude is not the best dude" b u t WHEN HE MET FATHOM AND INGIDO-ooorgh that set off every single red flag. Fun fact: the original ending of Darkness of Dragons contained Darkstalker knowing about the spell Jade Winglet and Hope had created and having it be an external one. It had Darkstalker attempting to talk Qibli out of doing it, and the argument was so convincing even Tui almost let him live! She had to delete the ending just in case she let him live.

Here’s a horror story about Darkstalker’s dagger. The Icewing was flying back to a small hut near a pool. She had gone there on a diplomatic mission after the War of Sandwing Succession. She had brought her two dragonets, as there was no one to take care of them. She landed onto the sand. It was course and rough, nothing like snow. The dragon couldn’t wait to go back home. She walked into the hut and saw her youngest dragonet, a female, shivering, muttering under her breath, “Don’t open the box, don’t open the box.” Her mother tried to get her attention, but the dragonet only glanced up, shivering and crying. The dragon noticed something to her left, a box. Engraved on it was CURSED. And then, she noticed the smell. It was awful, and the sand was stained with something. A damp blue trail led into another room. The Icewing rushed into the room. It was shown that afternoon that even far away from the Night or Ice Kingdoms, 2,000 years to distance, Darkstalker could still take lives and cause tragedies,
A funny and ironic thought. Darkstalker claims to hate all Icewings, but guess what. He's half Icewing. He must secretly hate himself deep down because no matter what he says. He can't escape his own bloodline. 😉
There was also that one time where he enchanted fierceteeth to become clearsight, planned on having dragonets with her, and altered her personality to the clearsight he wanted her to be

I do agree with you for the most part but the border is something the ice Wings did first and it wasn't just towards the Nightwings it was towards every tribe and it killed them just like darkstalkers border but I do agree a little bit, two wrongs don't make a right
Yeah, same with any evil animus, really. Although I think most of them underestimate the true power of animus magic with its near limitless capabilities, or want to have "fun" with things rather than do it the easy way (like Albatross wanting to kill everyone himself rather than just having them all die suddenly).
I’m gonna be honest, and I know I’m 13 days late to day this, but I really hate Darkstalker He’s manipulative He’s unsympathetic, meaning he has no moral And has a narcissistic complex I admit there are times where I like him but rarely He claimed to have a deep love for those he cared about but as soon as they tried to get in his way he’d go to physical harm, like when he grabbed Clearsight so hard he hurt her when he demanded his scroll He’s just a really bad dragon and whenever I reread Talons of Power I find it so hard to get through his scenes so much so that I end up skimming through the book
The problem is the way how magic works in the world of WoF. Like, imagine the power to eliminate a tribe with a single thought. And the author is trying to make us believe that Darkstalker was the first and only who ever got the idea? Magic is too overpowered, there should be more rules to that magic system, where one would have to really work hard in order to do really horrible things.
Didn't the icewings also have a similar spell to the nightwing border. wasn't it called the Great Ice Cliff and I'm pretty sure that killed every dragon except icewings while the nightwing border only killed icewings if I recall that correctly.
Darkstalker is one of my favorite characters, he could’ve been different if things had gone better… (Spoiler Alert ⚠) mainly his family, the capturing of Foeslayer and Arctic running away with Whiteout is what caused him to snap

If he really wanted to resurrect Clearsight, he could've enchanted a rock to do more or less the same thing ('Rock, turn into a NightWing', and then 'become 'Clearsight') not a living dragon.

Seriously, Tui wrote Darkstalker's character so well, that I worry he somehow enchanted *me.*
Fun fact: the original ending of Darkness of Dragons contained Darkstalker knowing about the spell Jade Winglet and Hope had created and having it be an external one. It had Darkstalker attempting to talk Qibli out of doing it, and the argument was so convincing even Tui almost let him live! She had to delete the ending just in case she let him live.
he’s such a well-written villain. i honestly don’t think i’ve seen such a good villain (so far) in all the books i’ve read.

I remember that Darkstalker’s enchantment only said that it would kill a Icewings for a year OR until he called it back. The Icewings were only probably killed for do you know a year actually it’s certain that happened. I used voice to text by the way.
Reminder that darkstalker cast a plague onto every single icewing and if they all took off the earrings that Qibli gave them they would literally go extinct.
Thats a horrifying thought that somebody could have so much hate in their soul and power in their hands to do something like that to innocent dragons who did nothing to him personally.

Here’s a horror story about Darkstalker’s dagger.
The Icewing was flying back to a small hut near a pool. She had gone there on a diplomatic mission after the War of Sandwing Succession. She had brought her two dragonets, as there was no one to take care of them. She landed onto the sand. It was course and rough, nothing like snow. The dragon couldn’t wait to go back home.
She walked into the hut and saw her youngest dragonet, a female, shivering, muttering under her breath, “Don’t open the box, don’t open the box.” Her mother tried to get her attention, but the dragonet only glanced up, shivering and crying. The dragon noticed something to her left, a box. Engraved on it was CURSED. And then, she noticed the smell. It was awful, and the sand was stained with something.
A damp blue trail led into another room. The Icewing rushed into the room. It was shown that afternoon that even far away from the Night or Ice Kingdoms, 2,000 years to distance, Darkstalker could still take lives and cause tragedies,

A funny and ironic thought. Darkstalker claims to hate all Icewings, but guess what. He's half Icewing. He must secretly hate himself deep down because no matter what he says. He can't escape his own bloodline. 😉

There was also that one time where he enchanted fierceteeth to become clearsight, planned on having dragonets with her, and altered her personality to the clearsight he wanted her to be
I mean, didn't the Ice Kingdom have the great ice cliff? I feel having something that only kills the people your at war with is a lot better than **kill everyone except us**. Darkstalker just leveled the playing field.

Wow I didn’t notice Darkstalker did most of those things. I don’t typically reread books😅. Great video by the way 👍. Don’t forget the scene where he put a spell on Indigo, trapping her in the seawing carving. That was one of the most despicable things he has done in my opinion.

I do agree with you for the most part but the border is something the ice Wings did first and it wasn't just towards the Nightwings it was towards every tribe and it killed them just like darkstalkers border but I do agree a little bit, two wrongs don't make a right

Although I think most of them underestimate the true power of animus magic with its near limitless capabilities, or want to have "fun" with things rather than do it the easy way (like Albatross wanting to kill everyone himself rather than just having them all die suddenly).

I’m gonna be honest, and I know I’m 13 days late to day this, but I really hate Darkstalker
He’s manipulative
He’s unsympathetic, meaning he has no moral
And has a narcissistic complex
I admit there are times where I like him but rarely
He claimed to have a deep love for those he cared about but as soon as they tried to get in his way he’d go to physical harm, like when he grabbed Clearsight so hard he hurt her when he demanded his scroll
He’s just a really bad dragon and whenever I reread Talons of Power I find it so hard to get through his scenes so much so that I end up skimming through the book
In the dagger enchantment, it was only enchanted to kill for a year if Darkstalker didnt summon it back

The problem is the way how magic works in the world of WoF. Like, imagine the power to eliminate a tribe with a single thought. And the author is trying to make us believe that Darkstalker was the first and only who ever got the idea? Magic is too overpowered, there should be more rules to that magic system, where one would have to really work hard in order to do really horrible things.

Didn't the icewings also have a similar spell to the nightwing border. wasn't it called the Great Ice Cliff and I'm pretty sure that killed every dragon except icewings while the nightwing border only killed icewings if I recall that correctly.

Tbh, I was sooo sad when reading Darkstalker’s book, bc he seemed like a really funny and nice dragon, plus his romance with Clearsight was adorable. I can’t help but feel bad for Darkstalker, bc of how awful his father was, plus losing his mother affected him completely.

Ruinwings are too dangerous
Webwing are terible hunters
Stormwings are weaid because there the only tribe that walks on all fours on his continent

Cinderwings are only good for forging metal
Mantistwings are less deadly xnowings
And Dreamwings are too dull looking

The other villain dorack of the demonwings his tribe are telepathic he had a vission saying his tribe is in danger because a xnowing will kill them they dident belive him so he used he tryed to kill the xnowings fought kaiser got traped in the hundreds of caverns under the continents and not going to say much on him since I talk about kaiser too much
What Arctic was going to do to Whiteout made him more than deserve what he got. If anything Darkstalker went easy east on him
