He was brought in earlier than most stories reveal,while Zack Snyder was still shooting and he was having his own shoots while Zack was on set still.
The entire point of him coming in was supposedly to honor Zack's Vision,and it turns out he spit on it.
He took it because he was selfishly trying to get his own personal Batgirl Project off the ground and most of this was promised by Geoff Johns,the wannabe Kevin Fiege.
Both of these men threatened and Tried sabotaged Ray Fisher's career when he called out Joss over his harassment of other women on set,and the racist rhetoric by Geoff,Toby Emmerich,and Joss Whedon has been more and more exposed when its revealed how much they cut,Cyborg being the major casualty.
Especially on the actors of color and females either being cut or oversexulized (wonder woman)
It’s crazy how Warner Bros likes to sabotage their own films, completely understand why Nolan cut all ties with them. It’s a shame they own DC rights, because they’re never going to let directors make their own movies.
And now with them not planning on continuing the snyderverse. They wonder why people didn’t flock to theaters to see Justice League or their other DC movies the way they do for Marvel movies
We have the discovery merger coming next year! David zaslav said he’s going to be “very hands on.” When it comes to dc films, projects, games etc.. he even got a home on the lot of wb and he also said there’s going to be a lot of changes going forward in order for us to get ahead of all streaming services he even applauded zack Snyder’s justice league it was one of the things that they said they wanted to explore and they used zack Snyder’s justice league poster not tha josstice league one that should say a lot

Just rewatched Snyder cut for the 3 year anniversary. As time goes on I love this film even more for how unique it is in a genre that struggles to find that.

Fun fact, in the first WW movie, all the action scenes were supervised by Zack himself. Patty Jenkins can't shoot action scenes & you know it to be true because WW84 exists. All the action scenes(not supervised by Zack mind you) in that movie is full of cgi & continuity issues.

The black superman suit is also used in the comics after he's resurrected, it helps him recover faster and protects him. I wonder if superman wasn't even at his strongest when he pummeled steppenwolf lol

I am slightly ashamed to admit this but when “Twilight: Eclipse” was released, I drove 3 hours to my sister’s house and we did a binge IN THE THEATER of the first two twilight movies before the main event! We spent 12 hours in the theater (not a super comfortable theater either) including breaks between movies. They could have made this 4 hour movie and released it in theaters and had intermissions. Stage productions do intermissions, I don’t see why movies should be any different.

I dont think I've ever been this early for this, but I really thought the movie was amazing, I really hope we get to see more of Martian man hunter and more apocalypse storylines because the end scene was awesome with the joker.

This movie stimulates my imagination and makes me want to see certain things that are never explored in film. It would be so cool to see Bruce Wayne sitting the team down and constantly pointing out and giving them shit about their weaknesses and areas of improvement. I want scenes where Bruce is imparting his knowledge and skills to make each member better. I wanna see Bruce talk to the team, but specifically Clark and Barry about all he was able to accomplish In his City with mere human abilities, and just imagine what they could do if they really tried hard.
I’d like to see the Justice League take some time away from global world ending alien threats and actually fighting crime and terrorism and legitimately reducing crime stats globally. Not only by fighting, but also through investigations, and legal justice, and sleuthing when things need to be handled more delicately. If the JL is mostly comprised of gods/meta humans, I wanna see some kind of acknowledgement that Bruce Wayne is the most dangerous singular human on the planet, and some members are actually kinda scared of him.
I want to see Clark have to put on the Batsuit and do some Batman shit because Bruce and Batman need to be seen in different locations simultaneously. Then the subsequent conversation where Clark admits his concern to Bruce that wearing the suit made him feel strange, like the power of instilling that kind of fear was something he wasn’t used to, but he worries that he kind of enjoyed it, and that Bruce should be careful not to dive too deep.
A well written conversation between certain characters would be as compelling and gratifying to me as any epic action scene. I could go on and on about little things like this that I’d love to see, that would have me cheering at my TV, but we’ll probably never see.
You think they will ever release the syndercut on bluray and such?
Maybe in the future, but I'm guessing it will always be on HBO Max

I cannot believe they cut out cyborg’s entire story. I cried multiple times and almost all of those were cyborg scenes. I really wanted the rest of the JL movies, but it’s prob not going to happen cause they don’t give a shit about the fans. Love your podcast.

The great thing when you guys were talking about a multiverse is that the dc multiverse is a thing, we know that because of the flash cw show. In one episode the ezra Miller flash was in that episode as an alternative universe flash, so multiverse could happen in the movies

I’m curious to hear how y’all might think superhero movies affect film school curriculum. It’s something you can’t escape and I can only imagine there will be a class at some schools that cover superhero mythology and psychology. Despite Marty’s opinions, I feel it’s something that’s here to stay, at least for the next couple of decades.
That's actually a super interesting question. If I was a film professor, I would embrace it and add it to my syllabus. Marty is absolutely correct, but that doesn't mean we still can't enjoy them or learn more about film from them

So few things... if you didn’t know the story of Barry Allen flash and his dad, the dad didn’t do anything wrong... professor zoom kills Barry’s mom and the dad was blamed/framed, he shouldn’t be in jail but he wants Barry to move on because he doesn’t have the hope anymore that he will ever be proven innocent and Barry does, which puts his life on hold, which is ironic because everything moves so fast for him, also the young girl is Iris West... love of Barry Allen’s life in almost every rendition of the character ... do some Flash research guys come on lol.

The Wonderwoman terrorist scene was in Josstice League, it was just extremely dumbed down, as many of the other Snyder shots Joss used!

I've often struggled with these more modern depictions of Superman where we delve more into his being God-like, rather than the more relatable traits that earlier films (re: Reeves Superman) showed. Clark struggles all the time with understanding humanity, his own tumultuous emotions of feeling apart while also loving humanity, his relationship with Lois, etc. Without these elements as an anchor, Superman is unrelatable and all-powerful. I feel like Thor has taken up that mantle of the relatable god and DC needs to revisit it.
Similarly, Batman was not in character at all in either edition of JL. Silly, hopeful, none of the usual conflicts, etc. The only hero that truly shined was Wonder Woman. She absolutely stole the show. Depth, spectacular acting, out of this world action sequences. I feel WW was what elevated this film to where it is. Without her, it would have flopped.
I feel that with the amount of positive feedback from the fans warner bros are gonna do sequels to this. It would be really disappointing to have this much set up for Darkseid and not take advantage of it.
We honestly think WB doesn't care about it anymore. They see other means of making their money with new content and changes they've made to their overall plans. Think of JL as like a $70 million dollar commercial for HBO Max

I love long movies personally. They should have at least made the whedon cut 2hrs and 20 mins or 30 mins, then at least it would have been more coherent even if it still was inferior to snyder's cut. Long movies allow for more character depth, more action, more stakes and more everything. I dont know why that is so hard to understand. But there are pesky audience members who complain that a film is too long or boring so theres just no winning

ffs it is NOT 4:3. It is imax, top and bottom are not cropped away to get the widescreen. 4:3 crops away the sides. With imax you get everything
It’s like trying to explain widescreen movies back when we all had big box TVs. Why’s the top and bottom cut off. I had missing part of the movie. Wish it could just be full screen so we’d see the whole picture....but maybe I’m just old enough to remember it 🤷🏾♂️😂😂👍🏾
Snyder did not use IMAX cameras, but he shot it with a ratio suitable for the 1.43:1 ratio ideal for IMAX theaters. We didn't say anything was cropped in Zack's version, we get the full image he filmed. True IMAX film cameras, which record the picture on 65mm celluloid, produce an aspect ratio of 1.43:1. But this circumstance is different since he didn't us IMAX cameras :)

Lois is killed in the future which sets Superman on the path of becoming a tyrant to humanity... here they join that with the idea that Darkseid catches him right after Lois dies and Batman could of prevented it as Joker says ... That’s why Flash warns Batman ... and that’s all still a possibility down the line that timeline isn’t cancelled ... luckily as I’m typing this you guys said part of this so phew... otherwise my nerd senses were tingling

What the hell are you talking about? Did you even watch this episode? Not once did we blame Zack for Josstice League. We talked about how bad Josstice League was because of Joss Whedon and that it was very unfortunate that Zack had to step away after the tragic death of his daughter. We blamed the studio for hiring Joss and letting him redo so much of the script and filming.
