Honestly when I first got into DGD a few years ago I didn't like Jon Mess's screaming, but now years later I see how it works. The throat shredding screaming shouldn't work, but it just does somehow, in my opinion.

@Booraad Coheed has been my favorite band since I was a kid, but I have never considered them to be part of this "scene" or really any "scene". Coheed came out in the 90s as Shabutie. They're not in the same group as DGD.
i can understand why people love evaporate, but i feel like this song is objectively the best on on the album. the technical skill of the drummer, the guitarist, and the vocals in this song just sounds so much more fine tuned
The double bass in the chorus... Matt Mingus you are a beast. Way faster than I've ever heard from him ever before. I hope he continues to break his boundaries with this album. It sounds amazing!
in my opinion this is the best song of the three that they have released. this is the sound of the DGD that I found so iconical (I haven't heard anything like this before) the combination of the Mess voice with the harmonic of the instrumental and the way Tillian's voice sounds along the music is incredible I really love the way that this sounds sincerely
Mothership isn't Downtown Battle Mountain 2 levels of amazing. I could see Artifical Selection potentially toppling Mothership but I'll need to hear the rest of the album to make my judgment.

Call it an unpopular opinion, but will's rapping wasn't that good, mainly lyrically. He did, however, know how to make it work with the music, which makes sense considering he wrote the main riff for that part.
One of the most consistent bands of the genre. Them and Silverstein are pretty much tied for number of albums with all of them being amazing and very consistent in sound in the post hardcore genre.

Every time I play this song I like it more. It's got so much depth, my god. And the contrast between the change-up in the middle (1:48) and one at the end (3:08) is just freaken incredible. Gotta be honest, this song was REALLY polarizing to me at first, I was in love with certain parts but questioned others. Call it what you will, but with every subsequent listen, the cohesion really settled for me and it's currently my FAV DGD song. That's actually sayin' somethin!!
