Did you guys find the other easter egg? The instruments are playing a rendition of Burning Down The Nicotine Armoire (1 & 2) during the lyrical throwbacks. This band is something else
Every riff seems like a throwback in this song, its also the rhythm for the zoloft chorus. The buildup with no snare with Tilian after the first guest vocal is a strawberry swisher pt 3 type as well. Just imagine after that part the drum fill "bap bom boom; I-- was raised to believe.."
I was genuinely worn out from listening to this album. I felt every emotion imaginable. Listening to this album is an experience. A beautiful, amazing experience!

let me say this, because i know it's going to be a repeat of what everyone else has said, but fuck it. i've been listening to DGD since 2006, about when "whatever i say" came out. through jonny, kurt, and tillian, with or without jon mess, i have grown though my 20s and into my 30s listening to these guys, and to say the least, the outro to this song left me in tears solely because they recognise their roots and how they got to where they are now. in fact, my first experience with them live was in 2007 back in NJ when JC was still in the band, him and Mess made a comment about how since they always spin around each other, the cables to their mics always wrap around each other until its so tight that they bump into each other. fast forward 12 years later, and i'll be seeing them here in WA, still kicking ass as they did so many years before, but still staying true to who theyve always been. to anyone who has any issues with them not sounding like they did when JC was still in: fuck you. DGD will, and forever, always be a band that knows how to throw it down, and in doing so, will never forget what made them who they are now. thank you, DGD, i've never had so much confidence in a band staying true until you guys.
When I saw them during the 10yr anniversary your, Jonny and Jon clasped hands and spun around during the intro and I'm not ashamed to admit it, I single tear of joy rolled down my cheek

Defintely wasnt expecting 14 songs, best surprise I could've hoped for 👌 this and Suspended In Disaster are my favorites but what makes it awesome is how hard it is to choose a favorite 😂
I listened to the ending lik 20 times while tears constantly ran down my face. The way they were able to mash up so many past songs at the end is a real tribute to their musical ability! That and they were all of the hard hitting heart string pulling songs from the past!! Amazing! I fukking will always love dgd!!!!
JN Perez my favorite albums so far this year are reverence (parkway drive) and defy (of mice & men). I thought this album was mediocre besides a couple songs.
Connor Martinez sorry, guess I'm not allowed to have an opinion. I respect whatever you or anybody else likes to listen to. No need for being a douche bag because somebody doesn't agree with you. The reason I'm not a huge fan of the album is because I'm not really into this type of pop-punk music anymore. I liked this band when I was a teenager, but now that I'm in my mid 20s, I still follow them because they come out with a decent song every so often, but that's about it. There's a way to tell someone that you have a different opinion than them in a mature manner, not like you just did. Reverence from parkway drive is one of my favorite albums by them, and if you think it's generic, then you should listen to the lyrics more closely.
Connor Martinez all good man. Yeah I'm big into the lyrics of songs because it gives them meaning for me and something to think about. Like the new parkway drive album hits me hard because some of the songs talk about corruption in the church and religion in general (such as "wishing wells" and "I hope you rot") which I find very interesting, being against the church and religion myself. And some of the instrumental breakdowns in this album are awesome. Whereas dgd songs typically don't have much meaning to me anymore, but they're fun to groove to. Like I loved their single that came out recently, midnight crusade. I'd rather ppl listen to something like this than some of the garbage on the radio.
Engineer DGD's lyrics are not meant to take seriously, especially Jon's, he uses his voice more like an instrument and just writes lyrics that sound good and rhyme well. But I agree with Reverence not being as bad as everyone makes it out to be, not generic at all imo.
That outro at 3:56 doesn't ever get old...I still get the same chills when I first heard Jon and Tilian at the same time like that. Fuckin masterpiece boys. Hope I get to meet you guys and give you all a big fuckin hug you guys are beyond incredible.
Ending lyrics (including songs): Surprise! I'm From Cuba, Everyone Else Has One Brain “Step back let go” Me and Zoloft Get Along Just Fine “You should’ve listened to your friends, you would have been over this by now” Acceptance Speech “Who drains the blood from my head? "I believe there's meaning, no I believe there's nothing" ~several songs on DBM, probably specifically Cuba since it's with the "Step back let go" part
This band has been a part of every chapter of my life since eighth grade. I’m 23 now. So much of this album gave me chills and made me incredibly happy (KURT TRAVIS!!!) But having found Eidola a few years back and seeing Andrew play with them live once I was brought to tears by his feature on this tune especially because the song has a very Eidola style to it on the breakdown. But the final section where they cycle through the generations of dgd on clean and unclean vocals honestly had me weeping. These guys are so so talented and so slept on. Crazy level of nostalgia with this tune. It has to be one of their best ever. If not for anything else but at least the outro. Genius. Keep doing what you are doing guys I will listen until I die
3:56 STEP BACK, LET GO, STEP BACK, LET GO, I BELIEVE THERES MEANING, NO I BELIEVE THERES NOTHING from Jon while Tillian says You should of listened to your friends, you would've been over this by now" fucking incredible goose bumps every single time this band is UNPARRALLELEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
2 years ago today, my heart dropped thinking this was the last album DGD would ever make. The last minute of this song felt like a farewell to all of their fans. I cried because this band has gotten me thru hell, and I didn’t want to see them go, let alone hear them say goodbye. I was wrong ofc! This wasn’t goodbye, it was more of a homage to everything the band has been thru. An acknowledgment of their past as a group of rad dudes who really care about their fanbase. i felt what it was like to truly love the sound that Will Swan, Matt Mingus & Jon Mess created. The band as a whole is amazing without a doubt (past & present member included). This band will always be my favorite band in the world. The Beatles of my universe.
Been a DGD since Downtown Battle Mountain. This song Beautiful, Will, Wells and Tim F killing guitars and bass, Tllian doing gods work and the OG drummer Matt always in his prime. One thing though the reference to the old songs ESPECIALLY "ALEX ENGLISH" got me emotional the fact that no matter whos in the band now they respect what got them here!
Ese final es tan magico... No pude con el, termine llorando bastante fuerte😭. DGD se la rifo con ese outro. El mejor outro que eh escuchado en toda mi vida♥
Kurt's song is the best song on the album! and it's not just because it's him singing, his lyrics are excellent as well, instrumentally its a super beautiful track, and Jon Mess' lines on it are some of his best on the album
@@zdoggzero6595 On Insta Andrew said it was scheduled for June (might change with the pandemic :/) He said it is pretty heavy and even has a Jon Mess feature.

I remember being kicked out for Tillian’s first LA show. I remember my friends They’re gone now. I’m going this November with my girlfriend.... and I miss you guys. My friends. DGD. You guys were great. I only wish the party lasted longer Evaporate reminds me of it all Thank you Dance Gavin Dance I may not have my friends anymore But I will always remember how you made us bond... and this November... I will lose myself again. I’ll see you. I’ll lose myself and I’ll become that same 21 year old that danced and sang to all your songs all over again Will... I will scream out your name in LOS ANGELES. Just know when you hear I LOVE YOU WILL!!! It’s me And it’s because you’ve been there the entire time You’re the greatest member of Dance Gavin Dance
This song sounds like a heartfelt goodbye. Just all of the lyrical elements present- "never coming back" "i feel like i gotta stay". Playing with my emotions for sure. Either way if this is for some reason the end, what a way to go out. I only hope they keep writing and pushing the boundaries because this band is so unique and phenomenal.
I got my Pre-order a couple days ago and my mouth dropped when I heard the end, first off, Andrew Wells is AMAZING! Secondly, the ending lyrical mashup makes this my favorite DGD song of all time, it hits hard!
This song is is Soo amazing the contrast between all the emotions throughout the entire thing with the mix of nostalgic, hate love/guilt is something that I feel strikes a cord in EVERYBODY 💕😭

The outro is soooo good! I always anticipate all the instruments to hit one last note when Til and Jon say “for” on the very last verse. Still an AMAZING song though !
Damn yo, when this first came out I really thought this was the last song ever. And that would've been fine. Glad they're still with us, but I'd be surprised if they ever make another song as significant as this
that fucking ending man, this song got me out of a deep depression today, been listening to you guys since 2006 and seen you all live with the different line ups since then. seriously, thank you... you don't understand what your music has done for me.
this is how a sound develops while also still keeping those core elements that people were drawn to into the first place. thank yall for not selling out fr youre a god damn wolverine thanks for still existing
That ending is fucking gold. Best song on the album
I agree!
This album has more then just this one.
Man of the year. I was like woah what a way to end the album. This just made it look soft.
the intro too. it's a shame the middle part of the song is not as epic
I disagree 2nd best. The Rattler is #1 on this one #BlessTheMess
Man I love the way this band does their heavy to soft contrasts. Personal favorite off the album here.
Definitely the best off the album I do like gospel burnout and every other song though.

I remember having all my friends seeing Kurt and singing to every song from self titled
I remember my friend making us crowd surf
I remember Jon and Kurt doing rock solid.
I remember being kicked out for Tillian’s first LA show.
I remember my friends
They’re gone now.
I’m going this November with my girlfriend.... and
I miss you guys. My friends. DGD.
You guys were great. I only wish the party lasted longer
Evaporate reminds me of it all
Thank you Dance Gavin Dance
I may not have my friends anymore
But I will always remember how you made us bond... and this November... I will lose myself again.
I’ll see you. I’ll lose myself and I’ll become that same 21 year old that danced and sang to all your songs all over again
Will...
I will scream out your name in LOS ANGELES. Just know when you hear I LOVE YOU WILL!!! It’s me
And it’s because you’ve been there the entire time
You’re the greatest member of Dance Gavin Dance
This song sounds like a heartfelt goodbye. Just all of the lyrical elements present- "never coming back" "i feel like i gotta stay". Playing with my emotions for sure. Either way if this is for some reason the end, what a way to go out. I only hope they keep writing and pushing the boundaries because this band is so unique and phenomenal.
and "you got what you paid for" ;)
I got my Pre-order a couple days ago and my mouth dropped when I heard the end, first off, Andrew Wells is AMAZING! Secondly, the ending lyrical mashup makes this my favorite DGD song of all time, it hits hard!
Those final lyrics make me so emotional.
Me and Zoloft get along just fine
They played this live last night for the first time live in their encore. Was great - loved hearing Andrew!
This is one hell of a closer. Also Andrew Wells!!! love Eidola
This song is is Soo amazing the contrast between all the emotions throughout the entire thing with the mix of nostalgic, hate love/guilt is something that I feel strikes a cord in EVERYBODY 💕😭
Outro:
[Step back let go]
Oh
You should have listened to your friends
[Step back let go]
You would have been over this by now
[I believe there’s meaning]
[No I believe there’s nothing]
Over this by now
[Step back let Go]
I’m found
[Who drains the blood from my head? I do, I do]
[Who accepts me as I am? I do, I do]
[Repeat repeat]
What excuses do you make?
[Repeat repeat]
We Own the Night
[Repeat repeat]
[Our history]
For one good note
Well don’t it feel good?
You got what you paid for
Not gonna lie, I choked up a bit at the end. So many great years with these guys. DGD for life 🤘
I thumbs up during the ad because it's DGD and it's new.
These random times signatures are nuts. Will definitely added some new flare to the guitar work on this album! Amazing!
this album is extravagant, such a masterpiece
Hands down the best song on the album, it takes me back to DTBM. It has the same vibes. Beautiful.
the best song on the album
you said that on every video, I see what you did there
Godamn the way Andrew says BELIEVE in second verse is so good
Mashup tracks and lyrics, in order~

I believe there's meaning, no, I believe there's nothing, I believe there's meaning, no, I believe there's nothing]

Everyone in this band deserves recognition..all talented! But damn Will Swan never disappoints
I'm getting heavy Plini vibes from this track
This song on full blast is pure therapy!
God I love Tillian but ANDREW's vocal carries this song for me 🙏🏻 it's his tone that does it for me, so much soul in that voice 💯
Andy from Eidola is such a ledgend...the way he strains “I can belieeeeeve it’s not enough” is so fucking incredible..one of my favorite voices in the genre
Nick Russo he sounds just like Jonny when he does that and I wish he was the dgd singer
Wow! It's cool they got Andrew Wells (Eidola) to sing on such a sweet song
Best song on the album, maybe best DGD song ever.
That ending feels like a farewell... i sure as hell hope not.
Tilian confirmed that while each of their songs is a (will) swan song in its own right, this is not the end for DGD, not by far.
lllg17 ok, good to hear
its a call back to the past.
i agree, the entire album strikes a nostalgic tone
They are currently recording (maybe finished?) a new album
The outro is soooo good! I always anticipate all the instruments to hit one last note when Til and Jon say “for” on the very last verse. Still an AMAZING song though !
Damn yo, when this first came out I really thought this was the last song ever. And that would've been fine. Glad they're still with us, but I'd be surprised if they ever make another song as significant as this
Andrew on guest vocals absolutely slays this
Andrew killed it!
that fucking ending man, this song got me out of a deep depression today, been listening to you guys since 2006 and seen you all live with the different line ups since then. seriously, thank you... you don't understand what your music has done for me.
When Tilian says "for one good note" Its fuckin beautiful. 4:35
this is how a sound develops while also still keeping those core elements that people were drawn to into the first place. thank yall for not selling out fr youre a god damn wolverine thanks for still existing
yeaaa DGD fan de mexico
I just listened to this song for the first time. The outro made me cry, all these memories that I haven't revisited just washed over me 💜
