    Great, informative unbiased review.
    However the main reason I have subbed is that you showed the price you paid - literally the first car dealer I have ever seen do this! That's a level of honesty that is extremely refreshing.
    I've always understood that a business needs to make a profit and that seems like a fair deal - kudos.

    There’s a service mode you can access via the screen - lots on TH-cam. Battery needs to be under 15% when you do it and plugged in- takes about 24 hours but will give a pretty accurate battery condition report. Worth doing and take a photo to add to your advert.

    I never use my Tesla key, once you link your Tesla phone app to the car it knows when you walk towards it and unlocks when you open the door handle. It also locks when you walk away. Simples

    As an obviously new Tesla driver he’s missed out a lot of things. Voice recognition is 2nd to none, and heating, boot, glovebox can all be done by voice. Say ‘My feet are cold’ it’ll send heat to the floor. You really don’t need to use the screen for 90% of the things he was looking for. 😊

  • @thestig779

    You’d like the “dog mode” feature….
    Keeps the car at a cool temperature even when it’s red hot outside. Puts it on screen too to tell people outside it’s in dog mode…so nobody tries smashing your glass in an attempt dog rescue.

    Excellent review. Once its apparant the batteries last a long time the values of these will go up. I think that's the main worry for a lot of folks.
    Jeremy Clarkson said you're not a true petrol head till you've owned a Alfa Romeo. I would say the same about the model 3 performance, you owe it to yourself to have a stint in one of these. It might not float your boat, but Alfas didn't float peoples boat either.

    i'm a trade plate delivery driver and collected one of these just yesterday, same model, even the same colour, much newer (on a 23 plate with just 16K on it) delivered to G3, the acceleration on this car is stunning but the car is just metal, it has no soul, i collected a SL63AMG a few weeks ago that had similar performance and this car HAD soul.......the roar from the exhaust was awesome and i felt privileged to have been given the opportunity to drive it (not many people have had that opportunity)

    Refreshing video. The only downside for me is that the frunk lacks enough space for a body! lol. I think 400 miles range on full charge is is pushing it... I have mixed feelings on BEVs and lacking a driveway would be impractical for me currently, in fact completely out of the question. I have a model 3 Long range and paying next to nothing to charge it at home (on cheap overnight tariff) The supercharger network makes long journeys a breeze and the tech means you arrive relaxed. The warranties on Tesla change so much over the years, but one thing i do know is that when the battery dies, its game over, throw it away and buy a new one battery cost is more than the car value. An extreme case was a guy in the USA used a new tesla as a taxi, battery was done in a year, warranty not valid as over 120,000 miles.

    • @EwanM11
      @EwanM11 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@stevenc5227people that can fix the batteries are starting to pop up now. The main problem was that there weren't enough on the roads to make it a worthwhile business, but as there are more on the road, especially older ones, clever mechanics will figure this out.

    • @Evokyr
      @Evokyr หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Batteries (and motors) of these cars are actually very reliable and last a long time. Multiple ones have over 200k+ miles without any issues. It's the same with an ICE engine and being totalled when that breaks down outside of warranty. Worst degradation happends before 100k miles, then it's a slow steady decline around 85%. Could be better if it's charged more carefully, but even with it being super charged only, it still lasts. I would say they last atleast 300k miles and 10 years for most cases.

      There's no service schedule because not much servicing required. You need to fill the washer fluid and change the cabin filter occasionally and as with any car, eventually suspension parts need replacing. Brakes last for much longer than ICE cars because most of the stopping is done with regen braking so not using the disks and pads.

Tesla, WE NEED A SWITCH FFS! if the old owner has taylored the seat to a specific position its a nightmare to stop it moving back to that position each time you move, it seems. REALLY F ING ANNOYING. If the12 volt battery goes flat you are in real bother. Bonnet should have manual backup to access battery, which should have jump points. On the positive side the heating and demisting in winter, is virtually instant, fatish heated steering wheel is a dream. Brilliant taxi, but nothing else.

    Tesla have always had nice alloy wheels, they just fitted aerodynamic wheel covers over them to try to get to the advertised range. Just that folk never took the covers off to see what was under them.
    When you consider what they cost new and how far they have fallen, their value is only going one way and it isn’t up. Don’t forget energy charges are rising by 10% shortly, something the EV evangelists don’t seen to be advertising. If petrol went up 10% all we would hear is EV is cheaper. Their argument doesn’t even make sense. It’s cheaper to charge at home, well ok but, when you go for a day out somewhere you can’t take your home with you to recharge it. But, petrol is more or less the same price everywhere.
    As for the “geeky” lock/unlock thing, try Renault. All you do is approach the car and it unlocks, then locks as you walk away. Key never needs to come out of your pocket or wherever you keep it. Having to actually touch the car is something Peugeot had back in 2017 and, even then, it didn’t need the key to touch the car you just touched the door handle.

      Do u often drive 400 miles then ? I don’t own a EV and I’m a taxi driver and I can count the days I’ve driven 400 miles plus on one hand so I don’t think most people would ever need to use outside chargers

      @@stevenmoran4060 the tesla will lock or unlock if the app is on your phone automatically. You don’t need a key card. It’s really cheap to charge at home. On a very long journey the price per mile gets more similar to diesel if you are only supercharging, The app calculates your petrol savings overall, and we have saved £300 in 3 months so far.

      Phone acts as key for most. Charge at home & likely about 2p per mile (overnight tariff 4m/kwh) - if your journey is say 300m or more then you’ll need a top up and that would cost much more, but likely

    I get the cherished plate thing. It removes a lot of our innate British snobbery (ironically). You see a 6 year old Tesla in the USA and you think nice car. You see the same car here and people judge you on how new it is.
    Having one does open the door for us to sneer at a pretentious fool though.
