Mark et al. I'm a senior rider, and have owned both the 750 and the 350 in the past 8 months.
The high weight of the 750 was the reason for me trading down to the 350 recently. Younger owners may not notice manoeuvring weight.
Perhaps being from a scooter (cvt) background, I love the 350. I think its what 90% of bikers would be happy with, if only they'd try it!
The 750 has rider modes, small underseat storage, 70mpg, excellent digital dash.
The 350 has traction control, (as 750), but is all you need instead of rider modes. Larger underseat storage, 80-85mpg, analogue dials.
    Here's the crunch: Forza 750 UK price £10399 (July 22), Forza 350 £5699.
In my opinion, the lower price option would satisfy many people.
The 750 would perhaps appeal more to bikers trading down from a powerful sports bike. (Its a motorcycle underneath the scooter clothing).
The 350 would appeal to a rider progressing up through licence advancements, scooter riders looking for a touring capable mount. In other words, people trading up!

I'm inclined to agree about the Forza 350 being all you need Geoff. I have one currently and it's a really useful machine, and also a CB650R. I'm thinking of combining both my current bikes into a single bike, and the Forza 750 seems to fit the bill for me. I think a test ride is on the cards. Great review Mark, thank you.

Hi, i owned xmax 300 for four years, an drove 30k km with it. Now i bought a year old forza 750, with 3000km. All that i can say is that the bike is brilliant, it brings smile to my face every day.
I drove friend's tmax 530 many times, and i can tell honda is much much better. No drama, more smooth, more relaxed, and more secure feeling. I Installer givi 56l top case, and two givi side cases 36l, set and ready for big trips. Cheers🙂

Ride a Kymco 2012 Like 200 I and I am 78. These modern bikes are so sophisticated and beautiful, and ridder friendly they are just amazing and the prices do not seem out of line with the features offered. Need to get a end of life bike to make them fun and exciting, may add a few years they would be so enjoyable. Thanks for the reviews.

Good review Mark, although the Forza 750 is not for me. I have a Forza 350 which is a brilliant bike and I'm really happy with. The 750 seems to be a NC750 which Honda have played around with to call it a scooter. I can't see the point of spending 10 grand on a bike that does not have an adjustable windscreen, poor stowage, is relatively heavy and has a chain drive. I think Honda have missed a trick with this one and perhaps an uprated Forza based on the 350 would of been the way to go.

How is the rear suspension on the 350? I had the 300 for a while and it was really jarring over rough, potholed roads. The 750 is tempting due to better suspension and more poke but nearly twice the price? Decisions, decisions....

What "boxes" does it tick? One box might be that you are happy to shell out a ridiculous amount of cash for a machine that is costing you twice as much to buy, probably twice as much to maintain, and a lot more in fuel, yet it won't get you from A to B in any more comfort or speed than a similar scooter with half the power and half the weight.

@@GS-xg4nz Hi The Burgy "was" a great bike and incredibly comfortable. It would certainly move on for a 400 and was not too bad two up. However in the end after looking at lots of reviews I finished up going back to a geared bike and bought a brand new Tracer 700 which is actually exactly the same as the 2021 Tracer 7 but a 2020 model. I was also tempted by the Honda NC750 DCT but after speaking to a mate who had one for a while I went with the Tracer. Mark did a really good review on the Tracer 7 and it swayed it. The reason I went back to ageared bike was I just wanted a bit more oomph on the overtakes as my wife has decided she likes bikes and wants to do a bit of touring "much to my surprise" and the Tracer ticked all the boxes. It is great as a solo ride and fine two up as my wife is very petite and to be honest probably the best pillion I have ever had. My mate who had the NC750 DCT for a while had also gone to a Tracer 700 and he said the Honda was a bit under powered and a bit uninspiring. I hope you find the right bike for you and would love to know what you get and what you think of it.

    • @GS-xg4nz
      @GS-xg4nz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@johnbateman3244 Thanks for replying. Yeh, the Tracer is a great machine, the reviews of the newer ones are excellent. My main bike is a GS but I find that overkill for nipping about in town and some days I just want something simple with storage options. I have a V7 as well but I don't want to 'deface' that beauty with a top box! TBH, I should probably just stop watching YT reviews as they make me want new bikes. The Forza 350 or Burg 400 makes more sense for what I need but I do like the idea of this bigger more powerful scoot for relaxed B road stuff. Used prices hold up well. They want £5K for a mint 2019 Burgman. I can get a new one for £5999 so why would I take the chance? I love the Tmax looks too but v expensive for a 2nd bike. ! One thing that has come to light is service intervals and no Yam or Suzuki dealer in my city. 5 hour round trip but I have a great local Honda dealer and the Forzas have excellent 8000-mile service intervals so I suspect it'll be a Forza. Oh, and I saw the grey X Adv in the flesh yesterday...wow! Cheers

I have a bike (a Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager 1700) and a scooter a Suzuki Burgman 650 AN Executive (both no longer sold in Australia). I love both of them for different reasons but the one thing I would say is ride what you like - put aside any prejudices or preconceptions and take one for a spin. This one, the Yamaha TMAx, the Suzuki 650 if you can get one or any other maxi scooter. You'll be surprised once you hit the motorway. They easily keep up with all the big boys and are just as if not more comfortable. This one doesn't have cruise control which is a negative but then not a lot of other bikes do (the Suzuki doesn't but the Kawasaki does).

I haven't ridden this one, but I test rode the original X-ADV (my current ride is a Yamaha Tmax). I wasn't overwhelmed with the X-ADV as I didn't like the engine character - its seemed vibey and burbley compared to the turbine smooth Tmax, and I was surprised that the super-duper hi-tech DCT gearbox didn't seem to add much to the riding experience over the very simple cheap CVT that the Tmax has! The X-ADV felt quite slow and ponderous, but I know it is deceptive as it out performs the Tmax - its all about the torque obviously. From video reviews of this Forza, I think that Honda have improved it compared to the last X-ADV - it sounds a bit less ponderous - its got a little more power, and I guess they've tweaked the electronics and the DCT to give it a more lively feel. I'm seriously considering a Forza to replace my current Tmax, but I still feel its a head vs heart thing. The Forza is probably the most sensible, but the Tmax is just such fun and it really gets to you!

I think the important differentiation between scooter and motorbike is that a motorbike's swinging arm never carries the engine. Bodywork, automatic transmission or small wheels is not an exclusive feature that defines the difference. I'd say the Forza with its frame mounted engine is a motorbike with weather protection.

The trouble with this (unlike the 350) is that it is chain drive which for me rather defeats one of the main benefits of a scooter i.e. no chain maintenance. I have a Forza 300 by the way and it is fab.

Can't help feeling that Honda missed a trick (and sales) by not having a final belt drive. It really is a revamped Honda Integra which never was a big seller. A 300c scooter would be a much more practical choice with its adequate performance, better underseat storage, and clean final drive. However, it's nice to have choice of different bikes and what one rider dismisses another falls in love with.

Yes its a nice maxi scooter but it comes up short when you compare it to a Burgman 650 Executive. With the Burgman you get an adjustable electric operated wind screen, electric adjustable side mirrors, heated grips and seat and storage for two helmets. Power wise they are about the same, the same for gas mileage. I prefer creature comforts on my maxi scooter and went with a Burgman.

Nice review as usual Mark. I test rode the Yamaha Tmax, but didn't like the high seat, and the high, monotonous revs. It felt to me like a jet-ski on wheels, and not the kind of machine I would want to go any distance on, despite the cruise control and electric screen. I then test rode the Forza 750. I loved the low revving, torque laden engine, the great V-twin sound, the relaxing ride, and of course the amazing, and unique to Honda, dual clutch transmission. In other words all the things that you were impressed with in your review. And yes, I bought one, despite the lack of cruise control and electric screen, which I've had available on several BMW touring bikes and rarely used. Besides, at 5'-8'', the stock screen is perfect for me. I think the Honda Forza 750 is a great touring machine with good weather protection, and I'm looking forward to doing lots of miles on mine. Thanks Mark.

@@marksimpson5218 Hi Mark, I’m still running the Forza in and haven’t yet done any real distance. However, I’ve owned and toured on maxi scooters before and found them to be very suitable for long distances. Having done 300 miles on the Forza, I think it will prove to be the best yet. It’s very comfortable and very good on fuel. I think the engine was built for touring. The torque comes at very low revs, and it throbs and sounds like a 90 degree V twin, which makes for a very pleasant and enjoyable ride.

Good review, sounds good too. This though is not a scooter, more an automatic motorcycle. Also for what it is I feel its far too expensive as are many of these so called maxi scoots. The problem is that once you go beyond 400cc its hard to have a larger engine connected by one bolt through the swingarm. I currently have a kymco xciting 400i. A true maxi scooter and £3.500 cheaper than this bike. I could not justify the extra layout for this. The kymco is more than capable of doing what I require and will quite happily cruise all day long at motorway speeds so touring is no problem. Also more storage as standard and I suspect better economy, cheaper insurance and running costs to boot. But each to their own I say. Again thank you for an informative review.

Think I'm right in saying that's basically the NC750X but in a scooter (ish) frame and with a few extra electrickery bits thrown on, albeit at a price?
I finally managed to test ride the DCT version of the NCX the other day, courtesy of Bransons Motorcycles (Yeovil). I'd spoken to quite a few owners of the DCT bikes who had said they would never go back to manual so I was keen to give it a go. Personally, in the short time I had it, I didn't really get on with DCT. I preferred to have the feel and control of slipping a clutch, especially when pulling away. Maybe, in time I would get used to it but it wasn't for me.
One other thing, When is a scooter not a scooter? When the engine is between your legs. Couldn't help thinking it's kinda' the worst of both worlds but, I've not ridden one so possibly a little unjust.
Anyway, if you do get a chance, a comparison between this and NC DCT would be interesting.

Well I'm trading my 350 in for a Forza 750. Recently did a tour of Ireland and some poorly surfaced roads were killing my back (even though I have upgraded YSS rear shocks). It's a by-product of having so much un-sprung weight on the rear wheel. The 750 has motorcycle rear suspension, which is far superior. Yamaha is contemplating sending the tmax 560 and if that gets here (the US) first Honda will loose my sale anyway. The TMAX 560 Techmax has all the things missing here with an adjustable windscreen 7.5 inches, heated seats and grips

Cruising comfort is top level. All it lacks is cruise control and heated grips and seating. Hope Honda considers to update with a plus version. Thanks for the review.

Just can't see the advantage of this over the NC750- which is a lot cheaper, has the same amount of storage and better suspension. Also: non-adjustable screen, though the Forza 350 has one that's electrically operated? What's that about, Honda?

did you figure out how to cancel the traction control?

    • @markpulling12
      @markpulling12  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi no ...didn't get into that ..some Hondas just have a simple button on the left side ...I guess if you can its hidden deep in the riding modes and settings maybe a manual mode

@@markpulling12 I think manual is just for shifring gears, on the Xadv 2020 there was another button just to cancel traction control, guess if setting user mode this can be adjusted.
