      The Idea I had for Izuru's Bankai, was Instant Crushing Death.... a simply put.... a single strike would black hole a enemy... no fan fair, no glory, just death, and a small marble would fall.
      Other Enemies "What the hell was that?"
      Izuru: "Death"
      Enemeis: "What kind?"
      Izuru: "Instant, simple, Death."

      I agree with the Ball and Chain BanKai. I really like the zanpakuto designs being included in the BanKai. Now let’s do Hanataro or Yachiru since she did have a Shikai.

      you have some very interesting ideas for Izuru"s Bankai, I do like the one that makes use of the ball and chain Wabisuke carries it the Zanpakuto filler arcs,

      Have already make of video like that for Yumichika ?
      Because if another character deserve a Bankai its truly him.
      And why not during a first encounter with Pernida in part 3 ? In front of Ikkaku, before Zaraki and Mayuri come to fight, even if Yumichika will be destined to lose.
      But for other Bankai, i think with the possibility of addition with Gerard's battle, we could see also the Bankai of Love, Lisa, and Hiyori. And also, for the love of god, the Isshin's Bankai battle with Hitsugaya's completed Bankai. Ice and Fire.

      I love it, but i feel gravity in a wide area makes more sense. Its a Bankai so while it doesnt have to be biug or grandiose, as is shown with Ichigo's, i think him controlling a certain amount of area of effect and crushing his enemy(s) with sheer gravitational force would fit better. Or maybe the opposite,, he can decrease the weight of his enemies almost showing forgiveness, biut they continuie to lose weight till they waste away or their body gets weaker and weaker. Something like that.

    • @SaltExarch
      @SaltExarch 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I love the idea of this combined with the gravitational powers. Izuru's bankai turns into a black shadow on the ground (invoking the imagery of a black hole) and makes everything in a certain area of effect around him heavier and heavier over time (maybe the effect is slower than his shikai, but Izuzu landing an attack speeds it up), and once his opponent is too heavy to take it and falls to their knees, a guillotine forms out of the shadowy mass around them instantly and decapitates them automatically.

    Not saying you forgot, but I think its worth mentioning Izurus shikai ability was first teased in his "actual" first confrontation which was against Momo. Hitsuguya intervened, but what we see is Izurus strike on Hitsuguya was enough to crack the ground beneath him. Nausea immediately reminds me of Sartre's existential ideas and his work "Nausea". According to Sartre, we are born as a blank slate without any initial meanings, and when we fill that blank slate, the process itself gives our life meaning. Or something on that line.

    my idea works like this:
    when izuru releases his bankai, everybody present, friend, foe and also izuru himself, begin feeling an invisible force pushing down on them.
    this force scales grows over time, the growth of this force scales linearly to the amount of unjust suffering each individual has ever inflicted upon another, be it physical or emotional.
    this would be especially interesting because that way it holds izuru himself to the same standard as everyone else, testing his resolve and adherence to his own philosophy.
    this would manifest as the person first dropping their heads, being unable to look up at all, next they can't raise their arms any more, then they fall to their knees and so on until they are eventually slowly crushed, their limbs broken, their ribs shattered, their organs turned into mush until all that is left is a puddle of gore on the ground.
    now obviously throughout all this izuru must have the resolve to withstand the burden his own bankai places upon himself, lest he risks getting crushed himself before his opponents perish.

      It could be something more obscure as well, like increasing the burdens of people in the vicinity. Not just physical but mental as well.
      I imagine it would be fairly effective on the un-resolute and guilty.
      But for someone like Mayuri or Kenpachi it would likely have minimal effect, as they have few if any regrets or guilts.

    I have 2 ideas…
    1: I feel like Wabisuke’s true power isn’t necessarily increasing weight, but increasing gravity. Like how Rukia doesn’t just shoot ice but cold itself. And weight comes with mass and volume, neither of which increase when struck. So maybe his bankai is like the manipulation of the center of gravity- so he could make it feel like the center of gravity isn’t the center of the planet but somewhere else, and the opponent would start “falling sideways.”
    2: going on the idea of gravity and the story wabisuke tells, what if the story of his bankai is the opposite of that of his shikai, being the idea of forgiveness, and a weight being lifted. This power being making everything it touches lighter- like in a video game when the sensitivity is too high and you can’t play right. And if the opponent is struck too many times the limbs/objects will begin to float away, where Izumu can be activate it and they come crashing down…!

    Honestly I really enjoy the second idea despite how simple it is. Especially the writing opportunities it would open up.
    Imagine a character fighting Izuru and getting crushed under the own regrets, confronting them, and ultimately overcoming them to stop Izuru’s Bankai somehow? I just feel Kubo could really make something amazing with a short plotline for that for whoever would be on the receiving end of that Bankai.

    I would imagine Izuru's Bankai would cause a gentle rain and transform him into an executioner, and his blade would take the form of a hooked axe, or scythe. Each raindrop would cause a gravitas upon it's receiver, lowering them before him. And his move would be a slow progression of beheading from the front.

  • @animanco6833
    @animanco6833 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I like to imagine that his potential Bankai ability is related to gravity. Just his Shikai alone allow him to either make others or himself heavy. With Bankai he could probably do more like create some sort of gravity field.
    If he has the chance to learn more about zanpakuto like Hisagi did, it would be different than what it initially was

    As my third favourite Bleach character I have thought about Izuru's Bankai quite a bit and have come to many of the same ideas you have in the video. One idea which you did not mention is that while in Bankai the beheaded victims of Wabisuke reanimate as headless zombies and must fight until they achieve penance, all the while their detached head is chained to their ankle invoking the iron ball and chain imagery of Wabisuke.I feel like after what Iruzu went through in the Thousand Year Blood War arc him leading a zombie army into battle seems appropriate and would fit Kubo's description.

  • @SleepyKurisu
    @SleepyKurisu ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I've always had the idea of Izuru's bankai weighing down the opponents sense of guilt or heart, and maybe upon activation it will attach a ball and hand cuffs to the opponents leg that can't be broken and will cause a somewhat instant hypnotic effect making the opponent think of their most deepest regrets and even lightest regrets and turning them into weight that gets applied to them by the ball on the chain growing in size
    I have also thought what if the opponent doesn't have much guilt? Then if that happens the opponent gets flooded with Izuru's own guilt in which I believe he has much of especially knowing his own/squad 3's philosophy
    If he ever got a bankai I could imagine a scene where the opponent relives Izuru's experiences with Gin or at the academy even adding new scenes of both flushing out his character more and to top it all off the weight already applied by his Shikai will get doubled when he releases bankai

    Death by crushing via a stone slab is pretty gruesome.
    Which was an old method of execution back in the day.
    Drowning via a stone being wrapped around you and thrown in water was another method. Which can also be played as drowning in one's emotions as a double meaning or literally.
    Wabisuke had a stone bound to his back in the filler and I can see that being a focal point of the Bankai.

    I think an interesting idea would be to make his sword change very simple. His sword gains two more hooks along the blade and when he hits you with them he can attach them to you like meat hooks that can't be pulled out and the brakes off his sword. He could also choose what gets heavy as in he hits the enemy sword and he can make the enemy sword heavy or the hook with each hit.

  • @TheVofR
    @TheVofR ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I used to do bleach RP and Kira was one of my characters. I developed a bankai for him, visually it was essentially a curvier version of his shikai, it still kind of folded in on itself to be able to decapitate opponents like that. His bankai further increased his ability to alter weight/gravity. One technique simply applied the weight increasing into his own sword during an attack, resulting in 'the heaviest stroke' that essentially pancakes people (can injure Kira if done incorrectly or too often). The weight increase was also applied to all objects within a certain radius of himself, essentially giving himself an aura of doubled weight. Of course his blade increased the weight of the object it struck just like in shikai, but to a further degree. One of the last techniques of his bankai he would master would involve being able to alter the point of gravitational attraction on the fly. Instead of people and objects simply falling to the ground, he could have them fly into the air, or towards or away from himself as they are drawn by gravity to a defined spot. I toyed with the idea of a black hole type of attack too.

    You know what would be cool with the changes in Izuru. What if his bankai potential changes? Yamamoto was able to use techniques relating to hell... what if Izuru's bankai can summon the chains of hell? When Izuru calls bankai, the sky darkens through an eclipse, but his sword changes to that of a hell guard, and a smaller door to hell is summoned. Every one slashed by his bankai, the chains of hell come forth, skewering them like the barbed wire from silent hill... and upon calling out drag them to hell, the chains increase weight, making them kneel in penance, then face down in the dirt as the chains drag them across the ground. Scraping and maiming then along the way to hell's door with it closing behind them

    I liked the 3rd one the most tho I think they're all quite possible. His bonkai was one I thought about quite a few times. And one idea I had was that. Most shikai appear to only display a fragment of the bonkai. Kumomoras shikai is just an arm, his bonkai is a massive samurai. Mayuris shikai can create poisons his bonkai can create any remedy to a situation. Including poisons. Byakuya can create 1000 or so blades and in bonkai it's 10,000. They move faster and with more precision. Yamamoto shikai produces fire but his bonkai Holds the 4 gates? So I postulated. What if kizurus bonkai isn't the penatant one but the acusing one. As a penatant person actualy stands in judgment of themselves. In shikai wabisuke inflicts kizarus owne inner judgment onto others. But in bonkai they're judged fairly. And I think kubos writing kizarus death and resurrection is intended to produce his bonkai because it will require that leval of self reflection. As for its precise ability I initialy thought maby his bonkai maby similar to unohanas. He'll beable to use it to aid allies aswell as punnish enemies. Maby as far as preventing and enforcing death it's self being wabisuke is hooked it slightly resembles a sythe. but I always felt that wasn't grousome enough I think when wabisuke goes bonkai it will be similar to Yamamoto. Gaining a multitude of abilities the first of which being all beings in the area are stripped of power Becoming pluses It would be in this state that wabisukes other abilities would trigger first for instances of hallows when they regain consciousness they may just be glad to be human and feel contempt. Wabiske would grant non-agressors amnesty they will be allowed to remain as pluses with the possibility of gaining shinigami powers later. On the other hand those who pose a challenge to the first judgement will be martialed their powers would be returned and fighting would commence. Tbc

    I just want to point out that Wabisuke's power could actually destroy the Earth. If he attacked a 1 pound sword 90 times, it would weigh the same as the Earth. I think the gravity idea makes the most sense since the correlation between weight and mass is one that is made easily.
    I really like your second idea for Izuru's Bankai. I think that really makes sense with the types of Bankai Kubo was writing at the end of Bleach.

    The bankai that makes the most sense to me is either 1 or 2. 1 because it's the only one of five ideas that doesn't force Izuru to basically do everything himself, and 2 because the idea of emotional weight is good, although it would have no effect whatsoever on Aizen.

    I have a neat one! All this bankai does is 1 simple thing, just lets him change in what direction "down" is, at first it seemingly just that doesn't really achieve anything but he can wildly change the direction of gravity making them fall uncontrollably making it super easy for kira to hit them more times with his sword that maintain the shikai powers and when he's already hit his opponent a couple dozen times it's when the true purpose of the bankai's ability becomes apparent, kira now changes the direction of gravity to be inwards straight to the center of mass of the opponent crushing their whole body into a tiny super compressed sphere of flesh, killing them instantly, or outwardly tearing them apart

    How about this, instead of drawing similarities from Hisagi's Bankai, we draw similarities from Yamamoto's Zanka no Tachi, South. Izuru activates Bankai, hundreds of shadows rise from the ground. These are the shadows of the condemned...the shadows of all the people that have been executed by Wabisuke. These shadows slowly stalk towards anyone in the area (shadows have no eyes...can't tell friend from foe). They can be slashed by weapons and will dissipate, only to reform seconds later. Once they catch someone they begin to drag them towards a large, sepulchral guillotine some ways off in the distance. At the guillotine they are beheaded and their souls added to the army of shadows to be used by Izuru in the future. Izuru does nothing to direct the shadows forward, but simply stands watch, waiting at the guillotine for his next victim to be brought to him...kicking and screaming.

    My idea for the Bankai is similar to some of yours, and also leans into the executioner angle. His blade remains exactly the same as it was in Shikai, but a giant guillotine blade appears in the sky above his opponent as the surrounding area around Kira is covered in an air of pallid, grim and overcast gloom (suitably emo for the most emo of Shinigami). While the opponent remains in this area of gloom, it slowly fills them with a gradually increasing sensation of fear and dread, like the condemned awaiting execution. This slowly robs them of their resolve, burdening their heart while Wabisuke burdens their body, until eventually the condemned drops to their knees and the guillotine hanging above them falls down, ending them in one final stroke.

    Going with the gravity angle, I'm imagining a black hole forming within the target(s). It'd grow either per hit or over time, possibly limited by their "sins," resembling a hollow hole as it devours them from the inside out. Rather than an execution, they're ultimately consumed by their guilt and implode under the overwhelming pressure

      My idea would be similiar, but with the twist that upon activation of the Bankai, the blade would emit little black drops of liquid that would float over Izurus head. These he could control and when they hit a target, little black holes emerges that give him the amount of Reiatsu of the particles, to "burden" him more. but would end his own life if he would take too much.

    I really like the second one especially. Before hearing your thoughts, my favourite idea I thought of was one that was sllightly similar to Yamamoto's, but in reverse. Instead of summoning the bodies of those you killed to fight for you, you call on the spirits of those killed by your target to disable them, literally crushing them underneath the weight of their own sins. I felt this fit Izuru's general style and idea that war brings about nothing but despair and inhumanity, in that the people affected the most by his Bankai are those who have the most blood on their hands.
    I think you do a good job of catching that general idea with your second Bankai, of doubling the emotional weight on a person until it becomes too much for them to bear.

  • @Terradragoon
    @Terradragoon ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I like the idea of a gravitational field and emotional weight doubling, so how about we do both AND reference a tale about the price of power: the sword of damacles. Above the heads of Izuru's enemies, a pin-sized sword (or, possibly, a guillotine's blade) is formed, which increases in size as the fight continues. As it increases, the enemy becomes increasingly aware of the blade overhead and the sluggishness in their body. Their anxiety over what the blade does is intensified as Izuru doesn't even pay attention to it. Is it part of the bankai, is there another enemy nearby, or is it a manifestation of their dread? When they no longer have the strength or will to stand, the blade falls.

  • @justinedwards5047
    @justinedwards5047 ปีที่แล้ว

    Oh, I have an idea. Upon activation his bankai grabs everyone in his spirit pressures range and hoists them up on nooses. For very weak opponents this might kill them outright, but for most enemies he'd be using it on this would only serve as an impediment, at first. His blade would maintain it's shikai ability, only now instead of pulling them down into a penitant position it's pulling them down harder and harder against the noose until they are strangled or their neck snaps. The image of a field of people hanging, and the risk of allies getting caught up in it's effects feels like it could fit the themes pretty well

    for my Idea of it I was taking a little inspiration from his Zanpakto during the Zanpakto rebellion arc, where at first Izuru would have a giant stone slab on his back weighing him down or at least appear to with writing appearing on the stone either the targets name or his own burdens, This would naturally lure the enemy in close, at which point a stone would appear on their backs. gone from Izuru, He would then start listing off all the guilt and burdens the target has as it appears etched in the stone increasing is weight, at the same time the target is haunted by visions of those acts, causing them to scream and even start to vomit. this would continue until there is nothing left but the stone tablet remaining to act as a grave marker.

  • @jandro1565
    @jandro1565 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    A good power for your bankai could be to punish the very act of attacking. When Izuru activates his bankai and is attacked, the perpetrator of the attack automatically falls under the effect of zanpakto, even if the attack itself failed. Once in this state, an irremovable curse is applied to the victim, which consists of doubling the weight of everything they touch. Suddenly, the enemy will notice that his weapon is getting heavier every second he holds it in his hands. Their clothing likewise begins to become inhumanly heavy, as does the air around them. If enough time passes, the victim will be crushed to death in the most violent way possible. But if that weren't scary enough, this curse would be linked to the victim's reishi and not Izuru's, making it remain active even after the end of the fight or the death of the shinigami carrying the bankai. In addition to the previous reason, the more spiritual energy the victim uses, the greater the effect, so if the enemy tries to deploy some special ability to counterattack, the rate at which things gain weight will accelerate.
    A little broken, but certainly quite morbid and hopeless.

    I might be alone on this one, but Wabisuke is my favourite zanpakuto of the series. There's beauty in its simplicity, hence I think the first concept of the video is the most immediately fitting. However in addition, something like in the 2nd version, an effect where for example the lover the enemy bows due the increased gravity, the more they loose their will to fight, could be adden on top, making them the true Peninent ones.

  • @sceptic8985
    @sceptic8985 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think a good concept for izuru's bankai would be a partial fusion of your mental anguish and the veil reflection concepts, suddenly the person he is facing sees a true internal reflection of themselves, their actions, and regrets, and it takes the form of themself. It mirrors their moves, and the only way to get through to izuru is to defeat this reflection, either through sheer willpower of noting that its an internalized reflection, or through death, because every wound made on the reflection is actually them harming themself and the veil we are shown is actually a battle now taking place in the mind.

  • @Reihmoto

    I think the second idea was my favorite.
    My idea of Izuru's bankai is similar to the second one. When Izuru is fighting 1 on 1 he activates bankai. Instead of the blade changing it looks like just a sealed zanpakuto. As the enemy mocks him about his bankai, they noticed scythe has appeared around their neck. Both Izuru and the enemy's. The one who's holding a scythe is cannot be seen behind a black hood but a single white eye is staring down at them. As the enemy tries to run away or break/block the scythe, it comes closer to it's neck. More they struggle more they feel anger, regret, hatred, all sorts of negative emotions, they're resolve to escape the scythe becomes duller n duller. Their limbs become numb and their movements become more and more sloppy. As they give up, the scythe claims the enemy's head and the bankai disappears.

A dark, heavy, depressing rain fall over the Area affected by his bankai? Perhaps the rain could be infused with the bankais weight doubling ability? Or perhaps the rain is more viscous and has a crimson hue to it, representing the blood spilled by those affected, or even better as a result of their actions. (I.E. Aizen's actions resulted in a lot more death and destruction if if it wasn't necessarilly done by him personally)

    A cool idea would be if his Bankai transported him and his opponent to a spectate space full of darkness where they both stood on dark waters. The bankai would turn into a stone tied around the enemy’s neck with a noose. Every time the enemy attacks him the stone would get larger and the noose tighter. Eventually it would get so large it would drag them into the dark waters, never to be seen again.

  • @Myako

    I think a combination of the second and fifth idea are best: the enemy feels their emotional and/or physical weight grow larger by the second, all the while an execution tool (noose, iron maiden, etc) is built around them.
    Then, when the enemy is despairing enough that they're begging for their lives to be ended, the execution method activates and kills then gruesomely.

    I think something more simple may work too, when he releases his Bankai, the air itself around him gets heavier, harder to breathe, and sinks more agressively closer to himself, and to play into his themes, it keeps stacking the weight, slower when farther away, and faster when close to him, given enough time anyone will be forced to kneel to hold themselves and not sink, while battling to even be able to breathe, the air heavy on their chest, harder to pull in, and harder to breathe out, the blade wont change, but this time, Izuru wont even need to lift his blade, just rest under their neck, the blade may even not have a sharp edge, blunt, harsh, as the weight keeps getting heavier, and they keep trying to keep their head and neck from sinking harder down his blade, while trying to keep concious to even try and hold themselves in place, fully knowing its just a matter of time now, and if its even worth trying to plead for mercy, and even if they tried, they wouldn't be able to utter a single word.

  • @tpros6289
    @tpros6289 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had an idea for his bankai a few years ago. When he finds himself against an enemy that can counter the weight doubling ability, bankai is activated as the shikai emits horrible screams from previous victims whose reishi is stored within the blade, forever paying penance. These screams turn to accusations and threats of torturous eternities as the bankai transforms the blade into the Scythe of Penance. This blade does not cut anything. Its swing is swift as a sudden death, and just as unexpected. It's impossible to perceive its strike unless you are the victim. As it passes through you it simply takes away two equal portions from you, that of good, and an equal amount of bad. From the blade's perception, it's simply taking the reishi that must pay penance, but from the victim's perception, it is taking away their very essence and personality. The fight ends when the enemy's resolve is removed completely, and they actually beg, with their head dropped in penance, only then can the blade pierce through their flesh since it is no longer protected by their own convictions. Then their head is removed like wheat being harvested, absorbing their soul to pay penance. The only way for an enemy to win is with ironclad conviction and undying resolve.

    He controls gravity in a circle around himself. He can choose to crush his opponents or throw them up into the air. But similar to Byakuya, there is a small circle around himself that is unaffected by his bankai. This would also be a weakness that can be exploited in a fight.

    Maybe An area of effect where there are dark clouds above the "Condemned" and their own shadows rise up and wrap around them weighing them down? And being its the enemies own shadow, only under Kira's control, he chooses when said shadow uses the enemies weapon to slit their throats? Or perhaps Kira's shadow grows to almost Kommamura's bankai size and instills such fear the enemies instinct is to kneel in penance, and maybe commit Seppeku? After he calls bankai they are all of sudden submerged in an abyss of water, and they contin ue to sink, the more the enemy tries to swim up the faster they sink cuz as we know the further down in the ociean the stronger the pressure, in this case the spiritual pressure of an individual is actually what weighs them down faster to be crushed quicker.
    have the opposite happens, those in the area of affect begin to lose weight rapidly, at first seeming like they have been"Forgiven" till they realize they are wasting away, theyre body, muscles bones etc etc keep losing weight till they have paid for their sins and they crumble to dust.

    he seems to have the hanged man and now a moon motif so gravity (or lack there of) could be central to the bankai

  • @Glandulf19
    @Glandulf19 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think the most devious twist to your second idea would be to reverse even the activation condition : it wouldn't be when Kira hits his opponents that they feel despair, it's when they hit him. So Kira's essentially impossible to kill unless his ennemy is ready to bear the guilt that doubles every time he strikes Kira or even worse, making them feel what Kira feels, each time with doubling intensity. This would create a twisted game where Kira would willingly throw himself on his opponents blade, but would have to do it in a way that wouldn't outright kill him, ultimately leading to the exact same idea you came up with, the ennemy taking their own life out of regret, guilt and/or shame.
    This reminds me of As Nödt's Schrift, but with the thematic dear to Kira, showing people that violence is horrible and gruesome, and them having to accept dealing with what they bring to the world if they choose to do so anyway.

    What if the Bankai is based on the enemy’s misdeeds themselves? Every being they have ever killed or maimed in the past returns from the dead seeking retribution from their killer. The more the enemy has killed, the more horrible the horde of malevolent corpses *shackled* to their reishi, dead set on devouring them whole and tearing them apart.
    All the while, Izuru has taken on the visage of a tattered grim reaper, blending in with the vengeful masses, waiting for his chance to strike, weighting the enemy down, each stroke of his sword increasing their weight 4 times, until they can only crawl on their hands and knees away from a gruesome end at the hands of their victims.
    And then, only then, if Izuru chooses, will he bear the inner blade to their neck, thereby releasing them from their ungodly torture.
