      idk. 10 grand buys a lot of fuel...so the chevy is already 10k ahead on that battle. 20k miles a year at 3 bucks a gallon(theoretical as it goes up and down) is less than a thousand dollars difference. So around 10 years of fuel in the chevy before the ram would actually start to save you money on fuel. thats 200k plus miles and most people are already trading them off by then. Id buy the chevy

    • @noblekitty
      @noblekitty 3 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      @@Enchanted3DPrints the right way to do it is to Google MSRP on Ram 2500 and Silverado 2500, then use those numbers to do your calculations. If people have any common sense, they would know it’s not fair to compare trucks prices given to TFL for reviews. The difference is like $300 so now it’s time to do your fuel savings math again, lol.

    • @Stpete28bmb
      @Stpete28bmb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +31

      @@Enchanted3DPrints flawed logic. That only holds true if these trucks were spec’ed equally and the Ram cost more money, but they are not spec,Ed the same. The 10 grand you mentioned purchased air ride, 20” rims, 12” display, etc over the Chevy. If they went down to a Big Horn (comparable pricing to the Chevy) , and the Ram with better fuel mileage, your theory falls apart. 😎

Slow the truck down to 40 or 45 and then floor it. Time how long it takes to get back to 60. This kind of test would've been nice to see on your recent Ecoboost vs Ram 1500 comparison.

    9:12 see there we go that’s why I’ve always liked heavy duty chevy’s and gmc’s because when it comes to towing they are beast I love how confident I feel with a load coming down a hill and maintaining a safe speed while that Allison transmission does A phenomenal job downshifting while holding the load and you safely not to mention then equipped with the AAM rear axle which is very strong then paired with that duramax you got yourself a towing beast. I used to think why doesn’t Chevy/gmc bump up there torque numbers , because 910 ft pounds is enough then pair that to a 10 speed transmission it all comes together at the end and that’s why they don’t need to bump up there numbers . The ram is a beast also because of the Cummins exhaust brake but it’s hard to beat that 10 speed AAM axle , Allison transmission paired to the duramax all together makes it hard to beat the Chevy truck . And I’m not hating on Ford but when it came to towing with Ford’s for me they were quick had plenty of power but it’s like the transmission went into idle mode and wouldn’t downshift and then I’d just have to rely and press hard on my brakes which is why I don’t like towing with fords

I would be curious to see just how much those aggressive tires do affect my fuel mileage.... Anyways, love the video... also I will say, I love my 2500 Silverado! We have not had V-8 engines in semis or large equipment for decades. In-line six rules the torque game….isn’t that why you bought a Diesel???

    When will the Ram HD get the new design cab? The rear cargo layout and fold out platform I s very outdated in the Ram. I had the same parts in my 2007!
