Quand je regarde vos vidéos.. Mon esprit est ailleurs à la recherche de quelques choses.. D une scène.. De mensonges... Que je n ai toujours pas de réponse aujourd'hui... Chez vous c est une passe très agité... Imaginez un bateau pris dans une tempête.. Seul.. Et qui jamais ne rentrera au port... L océan l a englouti avec ses 16 hommes d équipage... C est atroce... Parmi eux le mécanicien.. 26 ans a laissé un bébé de 9mois... MOI... ❤️... Une tragédie...

Great footage Alex....but what were the 2 'oldtimers' thinking....really.....never "catch" waves over BARS....success is rare, a broach is common....Australian east coast is mainly bars and we are taught early....jump on the back of the swell, and when crossing bars a life jacket must be worn....anyhow expensive lesson...c'est la vie

What really boils my piss is the absurd prices restaurants charge for their seafood when they have done fuck all in comparison to the hardworking working fisherman have put in.

Merci pour ces vidéos. Le port est récent ? Cela a l’air d’être le pire endroit pour accéder à l’océan même si les moments sont biens choisis.
Le port esr très ancien mais c'est le fond marin qui est très spécifique avec un canyon marin et un banc de sable traite voilà en résumé la problématique de capbreton 🥶🌊🌊🌊🥶

Once those waves get under your stern in a displacement boat you really need to know what your doing and the problems really start when you broach

If the water that is moving from behind is equal to the boat speed, the rudder becomes useless for steering. Any stall in boat speed going through a wave will also result in loss of steering. Keep boat speed up and water flowing over the rudder to keep steering under control.

I'm not quite sure how difficult it is to work out that you need to keep the bow of the boat on the back of the wave that is breaking.....
The challenge in these conditions would be the tide causing the high waves to be too close together, this would make it very difficult to have control to stay on the back of a wave as one is breaking on the back of the boat. The wave behind would lift the back of the boat and drive the bow below the crest of the wave ahead. You can see this at 11:33, the next boat that ends up on the beach had the first problem where they were going too slow and lost steering. Best to time your approach to the inlet to avoid the tide enhanced waves. Or dredge the sea floor when necessary to lessen the risk for waves to form in front of the inlet.

Many of these boats don't seem to have power/speed/or Captain's Cahones to out run a following sea. You need to stay ahead of the wave or you'll surf into the rocks, roll it over or submarine the bow. More power Captain!

That was a very fine maneuver. In the Navy (back at my time) we used to call it "the blustering gallant"; a difficult, if quite arrogant move to pull, but spectacular to see. We had to perform it in order to become officers. Those who failed received a flogging with cat o' nine tales. Good times. Todays Navy has become far too easy and too soft, folks can complain and obtain auditing from superior officers and they cannot even be punched when they are wrong!!

The atlantic in this area is always in action for pussys is the other coast with the mediteranen sea with 10cm waves
Navigation through a breakwater is always risky for inexperienced skippers even when the sea is in a relatively tame state.

I will never understand people that keep filming while others are in need. You know you have a legal (and moral) obligation to help people that are in a life threatening situation, like the two old men that beached their boat?
That wasn't life threatening. Their biggest danger was their wives when they got home.
@@bradgray123 It's never a life threatening situation and fun and games for a lot of people until the shit really hits the fan. It's important to recognize the moment BEFORE the shit hits the fan. This is potentially a life threatening situation that can worsen in a few seconds. You can see that these two oldies get tossed around when a relatively small wave hits their boat. You can see them slipping and sliding because they have no grip on the floor. They are not wearing life jackets. Imagine what a larger wave could do to them. If you e.g. smash your head on a stainless cleat it could easily be game over. Or you could be knocked unconscious and fall overboard and flushed into the sea. Besides that a larger wave could flip that boat on it's side in an instant. Imagine two oldies under a boat in rough conditions and not wearing life jackets. If they can swim at all.

Possibly the cameraman isn't able to give assistance so at least he can provide evidence to the coroner's court.
Where I live, we aren't allowed to cross a bar without wearing lifejackets.
Where I work we wear lifejackets whenever we are on or over water.
The old fellas were quite reckless in their actions. I wonder if they'd had a few beers as well.

And I don't like it either that another mans recklessness / stupidity can become my problem, but that's just how it is. Good to wear life jackets and take safety measures, but most of all enjoy being on the water :)
