    Mavic Air 2 looks way more natural👍

    Another great video as always Brett but I must take issue with one point. I don't believe that keeping both drones at f2.8 is a fair comparison as the Air 2 is optimised for that aperture while the M2P is optimised for f4 to f5.6 for its best results. Personally I prefer the more natural colours of the M2P, but I might be biased lol. Thanks again for your efforts.

    What is the purpose of shooting in cinelike or dlog and fixing the color in post compared to just shooting auto settings and spending your time trimming and adding music?

    • @marcushogan6613
      @marcushogan6613 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You might want more control over your shots. If you take different shots on different days it might look slightly better in a video if you can color grade them all in a similar fashion. Also in some situations you might be able to make footage look "better" compared to auto settings

      Marcus Hogan thank you.. trying to understand more. I’m looking to start shooting more for businesses and real estate but not really looking for a “fake filter look”. I have a lot to learn about this process and want continue to improve. I do have nd filters and using them has improved the shot for certain situations. Thank you for explaining I’m going to do more research on this.

      Brett Garamella Thanks so much for your reply. I know I have a lot to learn. I am going to look into your course to help me jumpstart this learning process. I do have one other question, and if it is answered in your course I apologize for asking here. When shooting with my Mavic Mini, I am very happy with the quality I see on my phone at 2.7k, however if I upload to Facebook after selecting upload in HD in the settings the best that can be viewed is 720p, and if I upload on TH-cam and share the link the best that can be viewed is 1080p. However, I have felt lame leaving a description with my video for family and friends with instructions to open the video and click or touch settings to adjust this. Most people do not know the default playback is only 360p. When watching amazing videos like yours I know to try to view at the higher quality but it takes forever to render and many times freezes and spins until I can watch more. Is it better to just record in 1080 rather than having it downgraded when I upload from my phone?

    Great video, got my Air 2 a couple of weeks ago as my first drone and loving it so far.. learned that apparently, you should not keep the battery charged and ready to go as it was all down to 60% after a couple of days idled, at least I had 3 to work with :)

    • @brandonrein
      @brandonrein 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's one thing about dji batteries. They are smart batteries and will auto discharge after a few days for safety reasons. I am pretty sure you can change how long it takes to discharge in the dji fly app.

    How about HDR on the MA2. I know it only works in auto but damn, the results compared to non-HDR video are amazing.

  • @ScottLaRue
    @ScottLaRue 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was waiting for the HDR mode of the Mavic Air 2, but didn't see that used. The orbit of the church you could definitely see the color balance difference, where the M2P was more towards the cooler side as you could see a blue tint on the white church. Good comparison though. It's funny I actually prefer the newer controller as the battery lasts way longer and for me it is more comfortable. But to each his own on that front. In the end if you have a M2P you wouldn't get the MA2, but if you have the MA, or original MP, then it is definitely worth it. For the amount of money for the M2P, I'd wait for the 3rd revision though.

    Good videos thanks.
    I feel like when showing the comparison of 2 videos (the first set of vids at the water) were tough to compare. When they were shown they didn’t look like the same shots of the same stuff and/or they were shown too far apart. They weren’t shown one shot from one drone immediately followed by the same shot with the other drone. Very confusing. The 2nd set was better cause it was side by side more or consecutively displayed.
    As others have said, I wouldn’t have expected anything but what was shown, the pro is better... as it should be... that is why it is twice the price.
    I really do appreciate all the work and time that you obviously put into this; but I came away from this thinking “Yeah, so what... the more expensive equipment is better? Ok I would hope so.” Not bashing the effort at all. Just trying to figure out if I missed the point. Sorry for being “thick” if I missed something obvious.
    Again, thanks for the confirmation of what I assumed. Glad I’ve subscribed and can’t wait for your next video.

    I ended up taking back my MA2 because I didn't like the grainy footage and photos of what the drone captured. I hated the fact that I couldn't change the Aperture too that is a big deal to me.. Ive fallen in love with my Mavic 2 Pro after returning my MA2 to upgrade. Im a photographer and from a photographer stand point the M2P is way better in my opinion😊

  • @vonheise

    You and others keep wanting to create a "fair" comparison which many of us are not interested in. I sold my Mavic Pro Platinum after getting it repaired after a crash. A fair comparison is no help at all, I want the most crash-proof first, and the best video and photos second. I want to see the best they can do, period! You take away that ability with your "fairness" compulsion. Just as you can correct the picture on your TV, the settings on the drone can make them appear a lot different, or basically the same so the appearance of a picture are not important to some of us either. I do like seeing how others adjust their settings for their preferred look though.

  • @zolaneger
    @zolaneger 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice review and footage, but you keep talking about fair comparison in f 2,8 , which is totaly wrong concept. If you want fair comparison, you must use mavic 2 full potencial.

      Drone Pilot Pro I think Mavic 2 pro or zoom has better camera. Although Air 2 has good features DJI should put a better camera within $999 price range to have a better position in market. Now we have other options that pity much deliver the same Evo 2 and Skydio 2

    Mavic air 2 is actually better, and the air is much smoother than the pro 2 as well, the old mavic controller is garbage, screen down below phone fidgety to get into place. And the video from the air 2 is just as good as the pro 2, sometimes better. Mp2 is better in low light, that's about it. DJI are gonna lose sales on the pro, because the air 2 is a better drone at half the cost.

    • @koonley
      @koonley 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The M2P is twice the price for a reason. I'm quite sure dji won't be losing sales to the MA2 either, to each their own!
