    I have one of these, and I also have an amazing Sony digital camera with awesome lens. On my last little vacation I practiced something new and old. As I am old enough to remember taking photos on a trip and go home with rolls of film to be developed. I found a new film lab near my house, and so instead of my digital camear, I do bring my dji pocket 2 for video, like the old video cameras, to document each day, but for photos, I am using my Canon Canonet, it feels cool, I take more time to take the photo, I enjoy that process, rather than the shotgun approach of over 400 photos a day, I may only take 10 at the most. And then you have memories.. We have a trip planned to Japan again this year for Christmas and I look forward to using this plan.. document the day with my dji pocket2 and take artistic photos and portraits for myself. less, instagram time too.

    What is the battery ?

    What type of battery does it need? What if i don't have the battery

    • @Rayscameras
      @Rayscameras  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Battery - WeinCell MRB625
      However, you can shoot without a battery, which is great! You just have to know how to use the Sunny Sixteen rule.

    How do you focus? Love the photos!! They’re superb!

    • @Rayscameras
      @Rayscameras  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a focus tab in the bottom of the lens that you move and thank you!

      @@Rayscameras Is it easy to use? I’ve found a seller already haha! I used to own a Minolta X700 but it was quite heavy for me so I sold it.

    I like to get that lens hood for my Canonet but I normally use filters for shotting b&w. Where can you normally place them with this particular type of hood? In between, inside or on the rim of the hood itself? I understand the hood has some threading on rim and can also accept a cover to protect lens? Thanks for the info!

    • @Rayscameras
      @Rayscameras  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What you do is you put the filter on first and then thread the lens hood over it and it works fine.

    • @francho2516
      @francho2516 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Rayscameras Thanks for the reply.. Unless you already tried with filter? The downside may be that in making the hood farther from the lens it will add vignetting? considering is a tapered-in hood design but not sure how wide it is and the original hood for this camera is just an straight cylinder.

    • @Rayscameras
      @Rayscameras  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@francho2516 I can give it a try and make another video! 😃

      He's using a generic, after-market hood here, and he said it vignettes. Add a filter between the lens and this hood and it will vignette more. The real hood made for the camera looks quite similar, but it mounts over the rim of the lens front, so filters can be threaded in without extending the hood. Unhappily, while new that hood cost $5, in the unlikely event you could find one now, it would cost more than most folks would be willing to pay.

      OM hood goes around of the nose of the lens. It is fixed with a srew. Filter thread stay free..

    Do you think ae1 program or canon ql17 ?
    I subscribed :)

    • @Rayscameras
      @Rayscameras  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honestly if you want ease-of-use then the AE1 Program because it has the program mode which makes it basically a point and shoot camera. But the beauty of the QL17 is that if your battery dies then you can still use it where the AE1 Program is reliant on batteries. Plus you don’t have to worry about carrying many lenses.

    if the ideal spot is in the middle, does it mean its always at f/5.6?

    • @IFrAnIKOz
      @IFrAnIKOz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No. If you are on shutter speed priority mode (A) the needle on the viewfinder will just tell you what aperture the camera is selecting based on the measured light and the chosen shutter speed. If it is in the red zones there is no aperture wider or small enough to give you a proper exposure. If it is at the top at f1.7 that still means proper exposure but you couldnt decrease the shutter speed since the needle would then move into the red zone since there is no aperture wider than 1.7 and you would be overexposed by one stop.

    Film makers use colors on the package to indicate the color bias of the enclosed film? Really? REALLY? Either he's just kidding around, a foolish thing to do on YT, where if you say something, half the viewers take it a Truth, or he's an idiot passing along another urban legend. As a review of the camera, 4 out out 10.
