JLaw often answers questions and reveals information that are considered crude and 'TMI', so it's not far reach for the interviewers think someone whose known for being so 'comedic' would be fine to answer a question like that. If it was someone like Meryl Streep or Emma Watson (who don't ever answer questions like that and don't ever make sexual comments and gestures in interviews) then the questions would be wrong. The interviewers clearly researched the kind of people they were and answered accordingly. Frankly the question was no reason to get upset about and wasn't at all offensive.
