We already fought for our rights as women. While sexism still occurs, it’s not legalized, accepted, nor is it completely bad as it was 100 years ago in the West. It’s bad yes but it’s not that common like many people make it out to be. Let’s fight for womens rights where they actually need their rights. Plus, there will always be rude people who think a male or a female is incapable of being good enough. Sexism in it self can’t completely go away unfortunately since there will always be that one person who has to be rude, but teaching others to be respectful regardless of gender may help it decrease. Gabriella I understand where you’re coming from, but I don’t believe belittling the struggles of some because others have it worse off is helping anyone. I agree that we don’t need to be fighting sexism here as much as we do in the Middle East, as you mentioned, but I do think it’s important to remember that everyone has something they’re dealing with, and that shouldn’t be less valid because others have more urgent issues. Bro Down now i'm not someone who's informed well on the history of feminism or anything, but i do obviously support that girls and boys find themselves on the same level in life, and my take on your question is that there are currently no rights men have that women don't (not a legal expert either tho). however, there are tiring stereotypes, oppressive systems (mostly bc of stereotypes or "tradition", not bc they're purposely trying to be oppressive, but it's still wrong), everyday slightly sexist cues (i believe in most cases bc of again, stereotypes or "tradition", not often people deliberately being sexist), and of course out-right violence like beatings in marriages/partnerships or rape. i believe this is of course the worst aspect of life women and girls have to deal with, and if you're a guy, i don't think you understand the fear a girl has when she's out alone at night or in areas she doesn't know where there are men she doesn't know, bc men might fear strangers mugging them, but they don't fear every woman that passes them, you know what i mean? this is also not something that's your fault (and any "feminist" that makes you think this is in the wrong), however, you should be aware of the problem and switch street sides or something when there's e.g. a girl coming towards you at night bc she is definitely scared of you. aside from the scary violence aspect (which is sadly also heavily linked to party culture, which everybody likes, also girls), there's things like the wage gap and workplace sexism, but i wouldn't be too informed on those things as i'm still in school. if i think for a sec i could probably produce a list of small sexist daily occurences i've had happen to me, if you're interested. this comment is probably really long by now so thanks to anyone who stuck through it and have a nice day

I'm not gonna go off on you for not understanding, but I'll just explain. See, women/girls are constantly being told by society that if you're not thin, you're not beautiful. It's basically just saying, "I assume you're always on a diet because you're a good looking thin girl." It's also saying how people think that girls want dieting tips over all other things they could hear from a female celebrity, because they just assume that being skinny and "beautiful" is such a big deal to every girl.

But that's exactly why the male tennis is more interesting. The field is stacked so closely that you can't predict who will win. With Serena Williams you just know "yeah she is probably gonna win this one as well". Obviously she is the greatest female tennis player of all time but that alone doesn't carry the sport. The best F1 season was when Michael Schumacher and Mika Häkkinen were closely fighting for the championship - and F1 got completely boring a few years later when Red Bull team was so dominating that they kept winning every year. Same in boxing: The Klitschko era was one of the most boring time in heavyweight boxing - they dominated the field and seemed unbeatable but I am willing to bet that everybody you ask will agree: the Klitschkos made boxing boring. Now, if I was a really good tennis player myself I might be interested to watch Serena play because as a tennis player you pick up on the nuances that set a great player apart from a really good player. But then I would view the game as a learning experience and not as an excitement/entertainment experience.
@Insanity you pretty much proved the point of the entire video. Whether or not you are interested in a sport or athlete doesn’t remove their talent and hard work. Serena and Venus are both incredibly powerful tennis players and when they played each other, it was never guaranteed who would win. Made it that much more exciting, actually. Saying some should be thankful for and grateful to men for ‘giving them a platform’ is just another way for men to try and keep an upper hand in a world that doesn’t cater to them exclusively. Federer and Nadal earned their accomplishments; Serena did the same. In Boxing the heavyweight title fights usually garner the biggest crowd and interest. And I think that's because the fights are more volatile. One punch can end the fight, KOs and comebacks are more spectacular. Then you go down to the light-heavyweights and middleweights which offer less KOs but more focus on technique - and these title fights also garner a lot of interest. But when you come to the Bantamweight and Flyweight you will find lower viewership, and the fights bring less money. Does that mean the contenders are less talented and don't work hard? Of course not. For me personally the hit-count in Bantamweight and Flyweight fights is so high I almost can't follow it with my eyes but each hit, each strike or miss matters less because the fights are less about how or where you get hit and more about collecting points because KOs are rare. And in the end you could say: the Heavyweight through to the Middleweight classes carry the boxing sport. And that would not be a sexist comment. And I don't know why me saying I don't watch basketball annoyed you in some way - it was simple a means to steer the conversation away from Basketball because I know nothing about that sport.

With the men’s the top seeds always win. At least with the women you get someone unexpected that will win the tournament. Also Serena has had very many upsets in her career so she’s not completely unbeatable. In the past couple of years, the women’s game has gotten very even in level and is very competitive. Nadal has only lost at Roland Garros 3 times ever and has won it 13 times... Rodger Federer and Nadal both have 20 grand slams, correct me if I’m wrong djokovic has 16. Everyone else on the men’s tour mostly don’t even have one...

All these people saying that men are stronger and that’s a fact. No. A girl can be as strong as she wants to be- just bc men or boys have abs doesn’t mean girls can’t too. We already fought for our rights as women. While sexism still occurs, it’s not legalized, accepted, nor is it completely bad as it was 100 years ago in the West. It’s bad yes but it’s not that common like many people make it out to be. Let’s fight for womens rights where they actually need their rights. Plus, there will always be rude people who think a male or a female is incapable of being good enough. Sexism in it self can’t completely go away unfortunately since there will always be that one person who has to be rude, but teaching others to be respectful regardless of gender may help it decrease. Bro Down now i'm not someone who's informed well on the history of feminism or anything, but i do obviously support that girls and boys find themselves on the same level in life, and my take on your question is that there are currently no rights men have that women don't (not a legal expert either tho). however, there are tiring stereotypes, oppressive systems (mostly bc of stereotypes or "tradition", not bc they're purposely trying to be oppressive, but it's still wrong), everyday slightly sexist cues (i believe in most cases bc of again, stereotypes or "tradition", not often people deliberately being sexist), and of course out-right violence like beatings in marriages/partnerships or rape. i believe this is of course the worst aspect of life women and girls have to deal with, and if you're a guy, i don't think you understand the fear a girl has when she's out alone at night or in areas she doesn't know where there are men she doesn't know, bc men might fear strangers mugging them, but they don't fear every woman that passes them, you know what i mean? this is also not something that's your fault (and any "feminist" that makes you think this is in the wrong), however, you should be aware of the problem and switch street sides or something when there's e.g. a girl coming towards you at night bc she is definitely scared of you. aside from the scary violence aspect (which is sadly also heavily linked to party culture, which everybody likes, also girls), there's things like the wage gap and workplace sexism, but i wouldn't be too informed on those things as i'm still in school. if i think for a sec i could probably produce a list of small sexist daily occurences i've had happen to me, if you're interested. this comment is probably really long by now so thanks to anyone who stuck through it and have a nice day

It's basically just saying, "I assume you're always on a diet because you're a good looking thin girl." With Serena Williams you just know "yeah she is probably gonna win this one as well". Obviously she is the greatest female tennis player of all time but that alone doesn't carry the sport. The best F1 season was when Michael Schumacher and Mika Häkkinen were closely fighting for the championship - and F1 got completely boring a few years later when Red Bull team was so dominating that they kept winning every year.
Same in boxing: The Klitschko era was one of the most boring time in heavyweight boxing - they dominated the field and seemed unbeatable but I am willing to bet that everybody you ask will agree: the Klitschkos made boxing boring.
Now, if I was a really good tennis player myself I might be interested to watch Serena play because as a tennis player you pick up on the nuances that set a great player apart from a really good player.
But then I would view the game as a learning experience and not as an excitement/entertainment experience.
@Insanity you pretty much proved the point of the entire video. Whether or not you are interested in a sport or athlete doesn’t remove their talent and hard work. Serena and Venus are both incredibly powerful tennis players and when they played each other, it was never guaranteed who would win. Made it that much more exciting, actually. Saying some should be thankful for and grateful to men for ‘giving them a platform’ is just another way for men to try and keep an upper hand in a world that doesn’t cater to them exclusively. Federer and Nadal earned their accomplishments; Serena did the same. I love how your answer to the basketball comment was just ‘oh I don’t watch basketball’ and you think somehow that means something.

Since you think I am coming at this from a sexist angle let me make my point clearer for you.
In Boxing the heavyweight title fights usually garner the biggest crowd and interest. And I think that's because the fights are more volatile. One punch can end the fight, KOs and comebacks are more spectacular.
Then you go down to the light-heavyweights and middleweights which offer less KOs but more focus on technique - and these title fights also garner a lot of interest.
But when you come to the Bantamweight and Flyweight you will find lower viewership, and the fights bring less money. Does that mean the contenders are less talented and don't work hard? Of course not. For me personally the hit-count in Bantamweight and Flyweight fights is so high I almost can't follow it with my eyes but each hit, each strike or miss matters less because the fights are less about how or where you get hit and more about collecting points because KOs are rare.
And in the end you could say: the Heavyweight through to the Middleweight classes carry the boxing sport. And that would not be a sexist comment.
And I don't know why me saying I don't watch basketball annoyed you in some way - it was simple a means to steer the conversation away from Basketball because I know nothing about that sport.

With the men’s the top seeds always win. At least with the women you get someone unexpected that will win the tournament. Also Serena has had very many upsets in her career so she’s not completely unbeatable. In the past couple of years, the women’s game has gotten very even in level and is very competitive. Nadal has only lost at Roland Garros 3 times ever and has won it 13 times... Rodger Federer and Nadal both have 20 grand slams, correct me if I’m wrong djokovic has 16.
