You, Sir, are a national treasure. And your daughter is charming. This made me really think about new ways I can be kind in the midst of this crisis. Thank you!
Steve Hartman is the salve that our country needs much more of. His belief that 99.9 percent of us are good people was truly tested over the past few years, and continues to be pressed. Let's all hope that that each and every one of us will embrace and live empathy for empathy's sake. Thank you Steve, you're always welcome in our household.
Let's ALL be better @ being kind, compassionate, walking in someone else's shoes, loving each other... in the midst of our circumstances. You are a great role model, Steve Hartman. Let's do this!!!
As a journalist, I think Steve Hartman and Rick Seback, of WQED in Pittsburgh, are our best storytellers for what's good about Americans. Keep bringing us the good news! We can never get enough! I hope to meet you both one day.
Kalin Thomas Are you a “ Burgher”, too? I grew up in Bethel Park where Rick grew up- we knew the Seback family as neighbors. You are correct- both Steve and Rick are great storytellers and national treasures. Stay safe and healthy !
So often people when they close a conservation with they me say "Have a good day!" I reply back "Thanks for making it a good day!" That reply takes them by surprise & I see their true character come out! Thanks Steve for making it a very good day... for such a time as this!
I love Steve Hartman. You have the most uplifting heart warming storys. I watch you every chance I get.. And you and your storys you cover has made me a better person.. I'm a 55 yr old man father of 3 grandfather of 10.. Rough n tough as the day is long. Truck driver over the mid west and East Coast.. And you and your storys has inflated my heart and some tears in my eye I love you We love you... Thank you for what you do.. If we all was a little like you this would be a happy world.. Peace n love to you Steve keep the storys coming... Tony in Southern Ohio said that...💙
Meryl has so much personality! And obviously loves being on camera. Mark my words -- she will follow in her father's footsteps and become a TV News personality someday.
I realize many things watching these segments; two of them are: I wish there were more men like Steve Hartman, and I miss having little kids. That Meryl is priceless! Loving this series.
Steve - such a great idea! A wonderful example to our children and grandchildren- Meryl seems to enjoy helping her Daddy and glad he is not on the road for these few weeks. I know I’m enjoying watching all your segments. Thanks.
I started my homework assignment already. Wrote a message on a post-it-note: "Thank you for your service" with a smiley face and a ❤️ sticker to give them to the cashier at the grocery store, the pharmacist, the person behind any counter that is working so we can continue to live a normal life as possible.
Mr. Hartman, you and the people you share are so very inspirational and a gift to these times. I cannot tell you how much I resonate to your stories especially coming from a very tough beginning. Seriously you and your team give me/us hope. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for this series. As a teacher, this is just so much needed for our children. You are truly a gem and my husband have enjoyed your segments! Thank you!!!!
Steve, thank you for this class! What a blessing you are to all of us! Your stories that reveal there are really good people give me hope. One seed of hope can multiply into an endless harvest!
Darn it Steve! I love watching your segments on CBS (the main reason we watch the channel) and now this perfectly-timed series, but the stories always makes me burst into tears. Thank you and your family. Your children are a reflection of your character and an extension of your kindness.
Steve's "On the Road" and Nate Eaton's yearly "Secret Santa" for East Idaho News are my two favorites news series on TH-cam. If you ever need a reason to smile, or get a good healthy happy cry out, these two are always a sure bet!
Funny you should say that. I just finished binge watching all of the Nate Eaton Secret Santa videos and now I am going through these! Feel good stories for sure!
I just ❤ Steve Hartman, his On The Road series and now this TH-cam series! Thank you for these simple reminders for kids (and really people of all ages) to focus on during these uncertain times. You spread happiness and smiles! (Hadn't seen the brothers who take former spray pups on weekly train rides in their community. How could anyone not smile at that? ❤
As an adult in the U.K. i stumbled across this channel but despite it being for children, it makes me smile and makes me feel happy seeing the kindness shown to these children
Sometimes on Tuesdays, in my 5th period writing class, we watch these videos of yours. It's more of a new thing we do, but I've seen two of your videos so far besides this one and you seem like a really amazing person. Thank you for making these.
Beautiful ❤️❤️💗wish ever human was thought this!!may God keep blessing you and your family to teach to show how God's Kings and Queens for His kingdom should be treated!!God bless you!!
Love the teamwork! Most Cornaviras era professional shows are’n’t as smooth. I love the problem solving like the twist of the laptop when going to to tape. Love the sweet homemade CG Graphics. The teamwork of well timed off camera props that float through the air at just the right moment. Your own unsung hero’ talented crew of Emmet and George clearly help make it work. Merrill is so talented she soon have an agent. (You won’t be able to afford her...she probably stretches the budget now.) Suspect your wife is the real brains of this operation! Steve you gave America great modeling of great teaching. May we all emulate the KINDNESS lessons your family exudes. Clearly charity begins at home. Just as when you are on the road ... a wonderful crew makes you look good at home. Thank you @CBSEveningNews for making these “Hartwarming” moments possible. It helps us forget for a moment our own collective pain. More importantly giving us hope as the kids you feature are indeed “the next great generation.”
Little lady is so into daddy’s work. look out for her in the future. She’s for sure going to take it to the next level. Good job young lady and good luck with your future experiences.
Letsmarchishere - So true Social Media is used to bully. ..it can also be used to celebrate rather than castigate- To embrace rather than embarrass - To highlight the better instincts in us all ...to promote Kindness.
Thank you for Kindness 101. I shared it with others as soon i recently saw the video about the teacher who inspired it. A decade of sharing Steve Hartman ON THR ROAD.
I won’t repeat the comments already left which I feel the same but I’ll add something we may not have thought about yet… whether it’s these TH-cam videos or Facebook posts, what a treasure for your children to have to look back on when you and I are long gone. Today’s adults have photos, maybe 8mm silent home movies and some even VHS recordings - but I picture Meryl and others as adults really treasuring memories being made today.
I had a duck that used to do the same. My brother and I would even take her for walks to the local store and our neighbors would find it hilarious too. RIP Estrella :)
You, Sir, are a national treasure. And your daughter is charming. This made me really think about new ways I can be kind in the midst of this crisis. Thank you!
Steve you’re a real human being I know one thing you are a an excellent model for your children and they are following your steps
Can we clone you? Our world so desperately needs a heap of Steve Hartmans!
NOW, more than ever.
He is making these videos for that specific reason.

Meryl made her debut in a story about a 79 to ballerina. Search "Steve hartman ballerina" on TH-cam.

Thanks for bringing empathy as an issue cos it is very important, we tend to forget it in this era of social media, too easy to bully

Are you kidding me? This is amazing!! Tears and smiles and just full of…empathy : )
This is marvelous.
love Steve Hartman
"That he was a duck?" Funniest damn thing I've heard in a long time. Great timing.
So good to see you guys! Love your stories. Always was my favorite part of the show.
The best part of this video was the "Cheapness" of it. Just a simple camera and tv but the message is so clear
Well done, fellow Lakesider !
Peace,
Press on ! Steve

For some reason CBS don't air here in Norway. 😢

I like that Steve says it’s an instinct many parents have and not all. He’s so smart and really understands he has a wide range of an audience
