Steve Hartman: For years I've watched you travel across the country reporting on powerful stories of hard work, determination, hope and love. Thank you for the beautiful reporting, it has helped me tremendously.
Meryl and your son are beautiful, thanks for sharing their little faces with the viewing audience.

Oh, Steve these are emotional stories! I love so much the work you do! You are a very special kind of soul a beautiful person, drawn to other beautiful and amazing people that inspire us. This 'class' about courage brought me tears of joy, especially the 89 year old determination to learn to read, and the courage to do it. I bawled my eyes out, because we need more courageous and beautiful people like you and those presented in this class. Thank you for all you do. You are an American hero to us. God bless you.

I have always loved this guy! He connects so well with people and his stories are always heartwarming and inspiring. And he is great with his kids. This could very easily be the next Mr. Rogers. Who wouldn't want Phil Hartman as a neighbor, after all. One more thing. The last story meant a lot to me. Ever since before I graduated from high school, I wanted to get a college degree. Hard to do with a 1.9 GPA upon graduation. At 40 years of age my wife went out on me behind my back. Nearly 15 years of marriage had been a valiant struggle for me with someone who criticized and belittled me (Don't ask me why we were married in the first place. This is already to long.). I divorced her. Once the dust settled and I got over the pain I was like a kid with a new quarter. What do you do with your life when you start over? You GO TO COLLEGE. I began with community college with high school level classes. Before long, with mostly A's and B's I was on the President's list. I remarried (After over 20 years I am very happy.). That and other circumstances compelled me to go online to pursue my Bachelor's with an accredited institution. I acquired a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I was on the Dean's list with a GPA of between 3.5 and 4.0! I went on to pursue a Master's in professional counseling. I finished all of my classroom studies with a high GPA again, and was again on the Dean's list. My pursuit of a practicum (an unpaid internship) has been stalled by Corona. I have not done much with my Bachelor,s and my Master's is unfinished. But I have done something, for me, that is remarkable! Online study is hard work with its own challenges, but I overcame them and went from thinking I was stupid with a 1.9 GPA in high school (I had to raise an incomplete in Typing to an F to do that.) to a college 3.75. I am 66 and am so satisfied with what I have achieved and with what my college accomplishments say about me. I started late in life, I went outside my comfort zone, and I succeeded. I am so happy with that. If you actually read this far... WOW.

This is an amazing piece! Thank you so much to everyone who put this together and made it happen. Everyone. It's two years old but still relevant and there are many things to think about here. Wonderful for this old grump to hear. We need to see other people trying. It got a little better after Covid. I think people are more grateful for things now, and they are kinder and more patient, but we still need proof that its worth it to be kind. In all the ways that you can be kind. And the proof for me that its worth it is seeing other people do these things. This is so great it should go viral.

Get one of those balance or no pedal bikes. You learn balance , minimize falling. Be courageous and smart.
    P.S.
In England there's a beer brand John Courage beer . In the 70's there were billboards all over saying " take Courage" in big letters.
I was a tourist there and at first just thought it just English positive affirmation
