Seeing the porter in the background using the floor cleaning machine tells me that you have a 1st class operation. If you take care of your physical building like that, then your customers know that they will be treated just as well if not better. The automotive repair industry needs more owner operators like you!
That’s how it was at the Cummins I worked for. Every bay had the exact same layout. Trashcan, mop, fan, main toolbox, roll cart, engine table (made to hold cams, pistons, head, etc), parts wash machine. You were expected to arrive to a clean bay with everything in place and expected to return it at end of shift with a floor scrub session at end of shift. Place was immaculate. The doors were roll up glass/window doors, every quarter the shop would spend a day washing them. Good times. Only thing I miss about the place was the work environment.
Well said
Totally agree.
@@Jerryattrickliverspottedhandsthe engine table held engine parts? Wow 😂😂😂😂 who would've guessed
@@Jerryattrickliverspottedhands The insurance company likes this too!
You must have the most indepth automotive shop on the planet.
Seriously. Truly "complete auto care" , unlike most that advertise so
I swear these videos are better than any advertisement in history. I’m beyond sold!!!!
We are honored
Love your shop

Nice to see a professional shop run by a trustworthy owner with high standards. Very interesting video.
Glad you enjoyed it
@DavesAutoCenterCenterville can I mail you guys some injectors to have them tested and cleaned?
When you have a 28 year employee that tells us you run a great business. Your shop looks amazing, always enjoy your videos!
I'm impressed with how long the tech been with you Dave! That says it all.
Really...If you stand by and take care of your employees they will be there and do right for you 90 percent of the time. Lots of employees turnovers always hurts your business and quality. Most employers don't get this.
The most important element in effective leadership is to continually appreciate those who follow you.
I’m always impressed when you see a person who not only knows what he’s talking about, but knows how to explain the whole process of it!
Keeping an employee for 28 years is a feat in itself, how many guys do you have that are 10+ years? Very awesome. Keep up the great work guys.
Long form videos from you guys make me happy. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience!
Our pleasure!
This shop or might I say facility is set up to get the job done right the first time. Lots of attention to detail . Expert work. Love these videos. I am a 65 year old semi retired mechanic. Dave gets it done right. Cleaning those injectors is precision work.
He's pretty equipped...but he's not a dedicated high performance engine shop. I mean if you were plunking down the dough for a built engine you're best off getting a crate engine or from an actual engine building shop. And most normies are better off buying a lower mile replacement engine from a wrecked car than a rebuild.
Okay,
Good for you 😂
I used to work at the Firestone on 500 south and 500 west in bountiful. No wonder that shop closed down, having to compete with you guys a mile down the road.
This Shop should be the example every Automotive shop should follow….Can’t stop watching these😂
Dave you have an incredible shop, with the personal and equipment to do it right the first time. The depth of your and your techs is truly remarkable. Totally impressed, and appreciate you and your staffs work to create the best product available.
I served my time in the UK for Rolls Royce as a vehicle Tech so i know about customer service and above & beyond in vehicle maintenance. You sir have a fantastic buisness working at a high customer standard which is good to see. Love watching your videos!
You have to be THE most thorough shop in the country.
I'm with you, I can't work in a dirty or an unorganized area.
Yes, I agree. I don't think anyone can do their best work in a poor environment. Thanks for watching
Nice shop Dave, I did this kind of work from 1988 to 2008 and got burned out, if I worked for a shop like you have I would probably still be doing this. 1st class operation!
Dave I really relate to your skills when it comes to engine rebuilding you are the best!!!.I was a journeyman machinist for over 37years and when the tolerance was +or- .002 as in 10.625 I always machine to 10.625 even if there was a .002+-. I see that same skill in your work. We Need People Like You!!!!!!!
U should open a shop in vegas yall seem honest and more sofisticated more than most shops in town
Will be in your town next week for SEMA! Love Vegas! Thanks for watching
I'm amazed at the technology you possess. Utah is lucky to have you and your business
I have rebuilt a few engines and worked on quite a few cars. My good friends I raced with in drag racing had a performance engine building shop for 30 plus years . I love all your videos !!! Keep up the great work you are doing a great service to use gear heads.Thank You Jim
Very cool. Always wondered how it was done. Good job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Dave thanks a lot for sharing all your knowledge.
Very nice to see somebody conducting business the right way❤
This video is how I found this awesome channel. I wanted to figure out a way to clean and bench test the 8 fuel injectors out of my Yukon. I've watched almost all the videos and look forward to each new one.
Man, if only I were closer, I'd totally have you guys build/rebuild my engine! 💪 I know AZ & UT are next to each other, but we're at opposite ends of the states. 😕
May be worth the hassle to get it done there. Not many shops have the standards that they do.
@@scottgoodson6046 Yeah, I know. Hence my post. Definitely closer than NC, but that's where Petty's Garage is. 🤔
So nice to see a shop like this, I’d love to bring my 6.7 to Dave
Wish this shop wasn't so far away I would never buy a new car again 😅 super shop!!! No#1 in my book 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Haven't bought a new vehicle in 20 years. I still maintain my vehicles.
What a nifty tester, cool demo.
I’ve been an active duty military mechanic for 14 years now and I would kill to have a teacher like Dave. Had to teach myself everything because leadership is always more concerned with the admin crap and not teaching the young guys. That’s what I try to do.
All injectors are is a inductive coil ( solenoid ) to explain em simply.
Good video ! Love it
Great presentation. Thanks for sharing the process with us.
Shops like the ultimate playground
Been im the industry a decade and a half. But that shop looks like it would be amazing to work at
"The dealership may not even have this kind of technology. A new subscriber has been added."
This was pretty cool Dave! Keep the videos coming.
This is great and I wish the shop I used had an injector setup but I ended up sending my off for flow matching and balancing. The oscillating sound of injectors makes people thing their engine is failing but you get used to the sound after a while.
I like this man, he does things right
Very neat and useful test. I need this done to the injectors on my V8. It idles kind of rough.
It’s funny how the idle test sounds just like a running engine
Really nice work guys 😎👌🏼
I’v never seen this kind of operation done before. Fascinating. I’d expect most shops would just do a guessing game and replace injectors that may be perfectly fine!
Best in the business!
Impressive shop exemplifies not only knowing your trade but how to manage your business and stay profitable.
I watched your whole series of videos on injector cleaning
That is an awesome test machine. Thanks for sharing 👍.
Really neat process! I want one of those machines!
Interesting to see how they work . Awesome video 👍
That's awesome you guys have a great Shop! 👌🏾
God bless you Mr. Dave 🙏🏾
I am in Guatemala, I came from Jacksonville Florida few months ago, and I love to watch all your videos buddy!
Thank you for the professional work that you and your guys do up there for beautiful customers! 🙏🏾
Have a great day Felas 👊🏾
I had this shop clean my injectors and it was more expensive than if I just bought a whole new set.
Tyson needs some tea with honey 🍯 and some vitamin C
Throat sounds raspy like he has a cold!! ❤😊
Feel better Tyson 😊
I think the same guy is writing all these other comments. The writing tone and style is all the same! So funny!
Nice equipment. Master at work.
Really cool machine, and much respect to the Boss ;)
Thanks for this video.
I like to watch and follow you sir all skills and experience you and your team. Doing great
So nice of you
Exelente, professional level
Awesome
howdy howdy from Tucson
Hello! Bet you are enjoying some nice weather right now. Thanks for tuning in.
A beautiful machine, but i wpuld purchase an entire flow matched set of injectors, 2 fresh ones and 6 old ones is asking for trouble in my eyes,
Beautiful shop knowledgable staff very impressive.
Your shop and attention to high quality is very impressive. I wish you were on the East coast..
That is a awesome machine / tool
Nice machine!
Aircraft injectors are all brass. Soaking in hoppes#9 gun cleaner makes them look like new and is approved. Had a nose steering bearing freeze up. Tried every chemical I had and nothing would “soften” old grease. H#9 cleaned it in no time.
In a BMW, the fuel injectors are a serious issue. If one cannot properly clean and service them, your going to spend over $1,200 minimum. Not to mention, you'll need to code them too. I used an ultrasonic cleaner with Heavy Duty Sea Foam for over 2 hours each. Allesun makes an inexpensive injector pulse and tester that you want to activate while they are in the ultrasonic bath. Saved me over $1,000.
Awesome very informative
Glad you think so!
I worked automotive for 10 years before I went to heavy equipment for the last 20 (same employer), in heavy equipment, employees are vey stable, I have watched many coworkers retire from a long career at the same employer, while I was working automotive, VERY few techs were at the same employer for more than three to five years, I worked 4 different shops in my 10 year automotive career, the fact that you have such a senior tech with so many years of service says a lot about the employer
Cool machine
I would love to work there. Sounds like a place where quality is more important than speed.
Man i wish i would have been able to get my engine rebuilt with you guys
If you were to build a truck out of any combination of trucks out there what would you use ? What engine , transmission, rear &front diff , body ?
as a shop owner I think this is all great.
but seeing all these comments of how in-depth you go and doing it the right way. Well i think most would complain when you hit them with 300-400 dollars to check the injectors on top of 5k plus to do an engine.
Hi Dave and Crew Thank you for the videos ! Could you tell me the brand name of the small inspection scope you had the other day looks ideal to look inside engine which of course its is, I like to get one and yours best I've seen so far joystick nice feature . Thanks you
Wish I had a shop like this near me!
Great !
This dude about to be a youtube millionair star😊
I hope is to bring our vision of mechanics as great craftsman
I’m surprised you didn’t flow test the injectors before you Ultrasonic cleaned them, personally I like to do it that way, then I know if the injectors have been bad flow rate, bad spray patterns etc, Then clean and see if Injectors are now the same flow rates across the lot.
I enjoy your program 👍
Really doesn't matter sir. It's the end product that's important. I few millimeters off is not good enough. He wants them to be equal. That's quality. I've owned my truck for over 21 years now. Still has the same old injectors.
I don't know why people buy new injectors. Their vehicles develope an engine miss. They start shooting the parts cannon to no end. Some guy says. It maybe this?. So they try it.
They spend $$$$...but they don't want to spend time and money for a proper diagnosis.
An excellent Tech who knows what and how to diagnose is hard to come by.
@@2nickles647 it does matter, because as quality Tech, then I know if the injectors were indeed bad, real bad etc, if they flow perfect based on my saved data from previous vehicles I also know the injectors possibly are not at fault.
I’ve been an Automotive Elec/Mech, EFI Tech for 36years, still do it every day. I agree with diagnosing problems, not just fitting parts till the problem go away. Keeps my customers richer & me happy. I like to know the reasons why, and I’ll put in serious time & effort to get the best results possible.
Wow you guys are the real deal, amazing shop and video. Are the injectors in gas engines not specifically programmed to each cylinder?
I have a smaller one. Can only do 4 at a time but worth It's weight in gold.
I have a machine like this at my job but everyone got fired or quit.... idk how to use the damn thing...😂
Great video
Very nice 🎉
Thank you! Cheers!
Just curious, if you are building an engine for customer Joe Blow, what is the logic behind not just installing new injectors. What is the normal life expectancy of injectors providing routine maintenance is conducted? Really enjoy watching your videos.
Tyson like bro u talk let me do the work 😤
I finish these injectors in 15 minutes. I don’t use ultrasound with special ingredients. The cost of the service is 4 dollars per nozzle and 1 dollar per microfilter. For four injectors only 20 dollars. But this is an invented technology.
Nice El Camino
Its amazing how long good injectors last.
Great point!
People don’t work places for 28 years if it sucks to work there. He must be a pretty good boss if he can retain workers for that long. In that business they can get work at lots of other places.
Tyson has been working there for as long as I’ve been alive I’m 28.
What are these out of? “A hemi” 😂 course they are
Very interesting to actually see how the fuel injectors actually work in real time and under stress in real conditions. BThanks again dave and crew.
Your shop is cutting edge amazing.
Keep up the great work guys👍👍🇮🇪🇺🇸
A+ man
I would like to know if the injector cleaner you put in the gas tank, is really worth it.
If it does help, what kind you think is best
After seeing this process it makes me think those bottles of injector cleaners you get at auto zone might be snake oil.
I watch Dave's demonstrations to learn more about the tools required to do the repairs. I do some backyard mechanic work on my cars. I need to know what is best to leave to the experts.
Dave, I want to take your suggestion to change the oil in my vehicle twice as often as a manufacturer recommends. I have a 2013 Porsche GTS with 125,000 miles; the manufacturer recommends changing the oil every 10,000 miles. Assuming I go forward with changing the oil every 5,000 miles, do I need to change the oil filter at the same 5,000 mile interval? I have a Fumoto oil drain valve installed, so it’s very easy to change the oil. It’s a lot more work for me to swap out the filter. But if you changing both the oil and the filter. Every 5000 miles is the best way to extend the life of my vehicle and avoid maintenance/repair catastrophes, I will take your advice.
Thanks,
Austin in Nashville, TN
Thanks for the video.
Regarding the duration mentioned in the video for ultrasonic cleaning, is the two-hour time frame considered standard, or are there specific factors you take into account when determining how long ultrasonic cleaning should ideally take?
Being that I've just found your channel, it's quite impressive with your equipment and knowledge. As impressive as it is, I'm sure this all comes at a cost. I know, I know, but if I have you do top flight work and can't afford it, what good is it to me at that moment?? Yea, I'm sure I'll get bashed, but it's a legitimate comment. No offense intended. That's why I drive a Silverado and not a Bugatti
What is the cost of new injectors vs the cost of labor to clean and test them? Does the engine computer sense and compensate for imbalanced injectors? Thank you.
Curious will you test the 2 new Injectors or will they be oem and assumed to match perfectly
That was my question, too. Also, if you had a lot of money to throw at it, go buy 100 new OEM injectors and see how much variability there is.
I was wondering the same….. on new injectors do you also verify the new injectors before installing them on rebuild??
Great video keep up the good work!!!
🛫📖🛬
Naturally I'm curious about the cost of this machine setup ❓
Is the chemical liquid recycled ❓
My best to you Dave
Hold you in high regard

I have a dodge neon 05 in the shop today. Code p0204. PCM im thinking havent got to check it yet. Customer is aware..though the injector its self works fine...tested the signal with a noid lite..👍. Sounds good through the ear thingy 😂. So hes comeing back at a later time. Cuz today he spent some good $ on suports All 3....😊
All I can say is you are a professor!
